Leftist Parasites At Long Island University Summon Student To Meeting For Holding Unloaded Guns In Off-Campus Facebook Video – FIRE
.

.
He held a gun. Then his college held a meeting.

In another shot to individual rights on college campuses, administrators at Long Island University Post called a student to a mandatory meeting after he posted photos and videos to Facebook showing him legally holding unloaded firearms at an off-campus event hosted by Cabela’s, the popular outdoor sporting goods chain.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education today is calling on LIU to acknowledge that mandatory administrative meetings about non-threatening social media posts chill individual rights. “By calling in a student for a mandatory meeting about photos of his participation in a recreational gun event, Long Island University has sent a message to its entire student body: Watch what you say,” said Senior Program Officer Sarah McLaughlin…

North Dakota Church Needs New Holy Water After Naked Man On Meth Takes A Dip – Miami Herald

A North Dakota church’s holy water fountain needs a $500 deep clean – not to mention new holy water – after what happened during Mass on Tuesday, the priest told police.

Spirit of Life Church in Mandan was holding its 9 a.m. service when 21-year-old Zachary Burdick walked in and started to strip, according to a police affidavit obtained by the Smoking Gun.

Witnesses at the church said that once Burdick was naked, he began walking down the aisle toward the altar as he masturbated, the affidavit said.

A witness who called police said there were 75 people at Mass during the incident, the affidavit said. But before Burdick even walked into the sanctuary, a witness said Burdick started to “splash around” in a holy water fountain, the affidavit said.

The priest said Burdick “dipped his rear end” into the water, according to police. Now the fountain will have to be drained, cleaned and sanitized, the priest said…

U.S. Supreme Court Upholds North Dakota’s Voter ID Law – RedState
.

.
From my point of view, ballot integrity, that is, ensuring that only eligible voters are allowed to vote in federal elections, is one of the major civil rights issues of our time. For reasons of political expediency, the Democrats have fought ballot integrity laws wherever they appear. Tonight they just lost one of those battles.

Back on August 1, 2016, a federal court issued an injunction forbidding North Dakota officials from enforcing that state’s voter ID law.

Undeterred, the state legislature passed, and Governor Doug Burgum signed into law, HB 1369, which reestablished the state’s voter ID requirement. This replacement law allowed for the use of alternative means of identification, such as utility bills…

Leftist-Run San Francisco Named ‘Poop Capital’ Of America – American Mirror

Nancy Pelosi’s town has earned the dubious distinction of being named the “poop capital” of America, RealtyHop reports.

“…the number of unique poop complaints every year from 2011 to 2018, and the number almost tripled, from 5,606 complaints in 2011 to 20,899 complaints in 2017, making San Francisco the doo-doo capital of the U.S.,” according to the site.

The city received 16,319 complaints by August 31st this year, “and it is quite possible that San Francisco will once again break the record if the amount of waste continues at its current pace,” according to the site.

In the new movie, “Dummycrats,” social media stars Diamond and Silk visit Pelosi’s district, where they come upon a member of the “poop patrol” power washing the sidewalk.

The film covers the poop problem plaguing the city, and the residents who are fed up with high taxes, dangerous streets and deplorable conditions…

How America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer Almost Got Away With Murder – Jonathan Lange
.

.
H.H. Holmes used to be considered America’s most prolific serial killer. He is said to have murdered 230 victims during the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893. Gary Ridgeway, the Green River Killer, is suspected of killing more than 90 women between 1982 and the early ‘90s. Yet both are dwarfed by a killer whose victims began disappearing in the 1980s.

For years, his murders went largely unnoticed. Then, in 2010, the Philadelphia police, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Federal Bureau of Investigation raided his place of business.

They were looking for evidence of an illegal drug operation. What they found was an office filled with corpses – more than 30 of them. They also found evidence of hundreds, perhaps thousands, more…

Republican Leader McCarthy Files A ‘Build The Wall’ Bill, But No Action Until December – CNS

Just weeks before the midterm election, House Republican leaders finally have gotten around to one of the most popular planks of President Trump’s presidential campaign – building a wall on the Southwest border.

“Few things are more fundamental to a nation than a protected border,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) tweeted on Wednesday. “Proud to introduce the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act. #MAGA”

On Wednesday night, McCarthy told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham he expects the bill to pass the House. But its fate is uncertain in the Senate, where 60 votes are needed to cut off debate.

“The name of this bill is ‘Build the Wall and Enforce the Law.’ So it fully funds the wall – $25 billion – but it even does more,” McCarthy said. “You know, Kate’s Law, which we passed, is a part of this. Stop sanctuary cities – it keeps children safe because it removes the MS-13 gang members…

Prosecutors said his plan was to draw attention to “sortition,” which is a “political theory that advocates the random selection of government officials.”

Paul Rosenfeld was charged October 10 with unlawfully manufacturing a destructive device and interstate transportation and receipt of an explosive, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said in a press release.

Rosenfeld told the FBI he was not aiming to injure or kill anyone other than himself, but federal authorities said the bombing would have put others at risk…

Yanjun Xu, a deputy division director for the ministry’s Jiangsu state security department, is accused of targeting several aerospace companies, including GE Aviation, a subsidiary of General Electric Co, the justice department said in a statement.

Court papers document how Xu and other intelligence operatives planned to obtain “highly sensitive information” from the experts.

Woman Removed From Flight Bound For Cleveland Due To ‘Emotional Support’ Squirrel – WJW

Frontier Airlines said a woman had to be escorted off a flight bound for Cleveland Tuesday night due to a squirrel.

Frontier said a passenger boarded Flight 1612 in Orlando, saying the squirrel was an emotional support animal.

The airline said the passenger noted in her reservation that she was bringing an emotional support animal, but it was not indicated the animal was a squirrel. Frontier said “rodents, including squirrels are not allowed” on its flights.

The passenger was advised of the policy and asked to get off the plane. The airline said when she refused, Orlando police were called and requested everyone be deplaned so they could deal with the passenger.

Police eventually escorted her off the plane and took her to the main terminal. The flight was set to be on its way to Cleveland later Tuesday evening…

A new undercover video from Project Veritas Action features staff from Democrat Phil Bredesen’s U.S. Senate campaign admitting that he has been decieving voters and attempting to appear more moderate than he actually is.

Bredesen, who was recently endorsed by Taylor Swift, has infamously claimed that he would have voted to confirm Justice Brett Kavanaugh – but his campaign says it is just a vote grab. When asked by a PVA journalist if he would have really supported Kavanaugh, staffer Maria Amalla said that he would not have.

“No, it’s a political move… He thinks that like we’re down like half a point right now. It’s like really close and we’re losing by a point or two. So he thinks that if like by saying this he’s appealing to more moderate republicans and he’ll get more of them to vote for us.”…

Medieval Re-Rnactor Dies After Impaling Himself With Lance – Circa

A Medieval knight re-enactor has impaled himself with his lance during a performance and died.

News outlets report 53-year-old Peter Barclay, of Virginia, was competing in an equestrian game in Williamstown, Kentucky, when he was wounded Saturday. Barclay’s brother and the president of event holder Society for Creative Anachronism, John Fulton, says Barclay was trying to spear a paper plate on the ground.

Fulton says in a Facebook post that the metal-tipped lance hit the ground and flipped, stabbing Barclay’s chest. He says Barclay, who performed under the name “Master Terafan Greydragon,” died while being flown to a hospital.

The Hamilton County coroner’s chief administrator, Andrea Hatten, says an autopsy hasn’t yet been performed. His death is listed as accidental. The SCA says it’s investigating how to prevent similar accidents…

United Nations: A $240 Per Gallon Gas Tax Is Needed To Fight Fake Global Warming – Zero Hedge

The United Nations has declared that a $240 per gallon gasoline tax is “needed” to fight climate change. To limit global warming, the UN’s report says that $27,000 per tonne of gasoline will need to be stolen from the public by the year 2100.

For Americans, that’s the same as a $240 per gallon tax on gasoline in the year 2100, should such a recommendation be adopted. In 2030, which is only 12 years away, the report says that the carbon tax would need to be as high as $5,500, and the equivalent to a $49 per gallon gas tax, reported The Daily Caller.

The constant fear mongering of, and theft from, the public in the name of climate change has not dwindled much in the past ten years, and if anything, it has gotten worse.

No amount of money will ever be enough to satisfy the ruling class elitists that expect us to just accept that they will continue to steal from us in the name of any agenda they try to scare us about…

RINO Douchebag Michael Bloomberg Re-Registers As Democrat – The Hill

What Do The Worst-Run States Have In Common? They’re Run By Tax-And-Spend Democrats – Investor’s Business Daily

Fiscal Sanity: Which political party is better at managing taxpayer dollars? The latest ranking of states’ fiscal condition offers an unequivocal answer.

For several years, the Mercatus Center at George Mason University has ranked states based on five measures of their financial condition: cash solvency, budget solvency, the ability to meet long-term spending commitments, state spending and taxes as a share of personal income, and unfunded pension liabilities and debt.

And lest anything think that Mercatus – a free-market-oriented group – is fudging the numbers, note that the data used to compile these rankings all come from official state annual financial reports and from state actuarial reports.

For 2016, the latest year for which data are available, the top five most fiscally sound states were, in order: Nebraska, South Dakota, Tennessee, Florida and Oklahoma. The five worst states, starting at the bottom: Illinois, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Kentucky…

Bill Clinton’s Sexual Assault Allegations Are Different’, Says Hitlery – Zero Hedge

The numerous allegations of sexual harassment levied against him mean President Trump is a reprehensible monster, according to Hillary Clinton, but when it comes to similar claims made about her husband, former President Bill Clinton, it’s a different story.

That’s what Hillary Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour during an interview Tuesday when Amanpour prodded her about the allegations facing her husband and how she squares supporting him with her criticisms of men like Trump and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The difference-maker, according to Clinton, is the fact that the allegations facing her husband were thoroughly investigated by a federal prosecutor.

Of course, her response completely glosses over the fact that not only were the claims against Kavanaugh investigated by the FBI during last week’s follow-up background check probe – but Kavanaugh has faced numerous background check investigations over the years…

Two Men Come Forward To Claim THEY Had Sexual Encounter With Christine Blasey Ford At High School Party, NOT Kabanaugh – Daily Mail

Two different men have independently claimed they were involved in the sexual encounter described by Christine Blasey Ford and not Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh, it has been revealed. Both men claimed to the Senate Judiciary Committee that it was they who were involved in the incident at a high school party in 1982.

Ford has accused Kavanaugh of pinning her to a bed and covering her mouth while trying to remove her clothing as his friend Mark Judge watched when she was 15 years old.

The Senate Judiciary Committee said it interviewed the first man who came forward. Sen Chuck Grassley released a statement on Wednesday revealing the man ‘believes he, not Judge Kavanaugh, had the encounter in question with Dr Ford’.

On Wednesday, a day before both Ford and Kavanaugh are due to testify, the committee also spoke to another man who believes it was he who actually had the encounter with Ford in 1982 that is ‘the basis of her allegation’…

Louisiana Abortion Clinic Restriction Upheld By Appeals Court – The Hill

A Louisiana court of appeals on Wednesday upheld a law passed by state legislators requiring abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital saying it does not put an undue burden on women.

Reuters reports that the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Louisiana’s secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals, arguing that there was no evidence the law would force some abortion clinics in the state to close as advocates had warned.

“There is no evidence that any of the clinics will close as a result of the Act,” the judges wrote in their ruling, according to Reuters.

The ruling went on to conclude that just under a third of women in the state, 30 percent, would potentially face increased wait times in the state for abortion services or other medical procedures offered by clinics. This court’s decision comes following a law in neighboring Texas being struck down by the Supreme Court in 2016…

Cop Caught Trafficking ‘Date Rape’ Drug And ‘Steroid’ To Allegedly Sell To Other Cops – Washington Standard

A Charlotte County deputy was caught trafficking a controlled substance which predators use to knock their unwitting victims unconscious to have their way with them. The investigation found that the deputy was responsible for shipping large quantities of the dangerous ‘date rape’ drug and tampering with physical evidence to cover it up, yet he’s never been charged.

Former deputy James White was given a paid vacation last October following the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) opening an investigation into the corrupt cop.

However, before the investigation could conclude, another incident in which this sicko cop was seen flashing his genitals to patrons in a Punta Gorda establishment, was exposed. The incident, which happened in August of 2017, caught up to him ten months later and he was fired.

On Monday, the FDLE’s investigation concluded and found that the former Deputy was indeed found to have been trafficking the substance, gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL), a chemical known to be abused and can easily be used to produce a form of a “date rape” drug…

Drug Sweep Of North Carolina Tribal Land Nets 76 Arrests – Greensboro News & Record

An opioid task force arrested 76 people on drug charges in a sweep of traffickers on western North Carolina tribal land, federal officials said Thursday.

Federal, state, local and tribal officers fanned out in recent days to serve arrest warrants on the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ reservation and nearby communities as the culmination of an undercover operation begun weeks ago, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said at a news conference in Asheville. He said officers seized about 250 pounds (113 kilograms) of heroin, methamphetamine, pills and other drugs with a $2 million street value.

“The message is clear. Indian Country is off-limits to drugs. We will find you. We will hunt you down. We will prosecute you,” Zinke said.

Despite Repeated Deportations, Suspect In Homeless Beating Deaths Cut A Bloody Swath Across L.A., Police Say – Los Angeles Times

Just days after his aunt and uncle were reported missing in Houston, Ramon Escobar got in his Honda CR-V and drove west.

The 47-year-old native of El Salvador traveled more than 1,500 miles along Interstate 10, stopping when he hit the Pacific Ocean on Sept. 5.

Three days later, Santa Monica police found a homeless man battered and bruised on the beach. Someone had beaten the victim, causing severe injuries to his head, as he slept.

Over the course of 17 days, police allege, Escobar would approach six other men the same way – sneaking up as they dozed in secluded areas, sometimes clutching a wooden baseball bat or a pair of bolt cutters.

Police believe Escobar cut a bloody swath across Los Angeles and Santa Monica, beating three men to death and seriously injuring four others in a series of vicious attacks that jolted the city’s vulnerable homeless population…

Fed Hikes Rates For 8th Time – Zero Hedge

The Fed’s eight rate-hike since 2015 was perhaps the most anticipated yet, and Jay Powell did not let investors down, delivering the 25bps hike everyone expected. And so it was – but all eyes were on the dot plots and the language changes in the statement.

As Bloomberg noted, Fed policy makers face two important decisions at their September meeting: One, whether to retain optionality around a potential fourth interest-rate increase in December; and, two, the appropriate policy trajectory as rates approach neutral.

Here are the Key Takeaways from the Fed report:

* Only meaningful change in FOMC’s statement is removal of the sentence on maintaining “accommodative” policy.

* The overview of the economy is same as August statement: labor market continues to strengthen, activity “strong.’

The decision to remove “accommodative” signals that the FOMC feels the U.S. economy is getting closer to a neutral policy rate setting…

6 Crucial Questions About The Newest Accusations Against Brett Kavanaugh – Matt Walsh

Less than a day before the Senate hearing about sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, porn lawyer Michael Avenatti has released a new set of allegations.

His client, Julie Swetnik, claims in a sworn statement that she witnessed Brett Kavanaugh at boozy parties in the early 1980s behaving inappropriately toward women. She also alleges that Kavanaugh, his friend Mark Judge, and other boys, drugged various girls and then “gang” or “train” raped them. She says that she fell victim to one of these gang rapes, but she does not allege that Kavanaugh himself was involved in the assault.

These accusations – the most graphic and dramatic yet – raise some very serious questions. Since we cannot rely on the media to ask the questions, I will lay them out below:

1) If Kavanaugh was a member of a violent rape gang, why didn’t that fact turn up during any of the several FBI background investigations he has already been subjected to? And why didn’t Swetnik ever contact the FBI or any other law enforcement agency about the criminal behavior of a federal judge?…

Senate Judiciary Committee Schedules Friday Vote On Kavanaugh – Breitbart

The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a meeting on September 28, to vote on whether to recommend Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the full Senate for confirmation to the Supreme Court.

The committee is currently scheduled to hear testimony under oath from Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, on Thursday. Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has hired a veteran prosecutor who specializes in sex crime cases to lead the questioning of both witnesses.

While it appears certain that Kavanaugh will be there to testify, there are growing doubts – including from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who initiated the whole affair – as to whether Ford will show up at all. (Ford was invited to testify, but is not under subpoena, and therefore has no legal obligation to appear and be placed under oath.)

The Judiciary Committee’s rules require three days’ advance notice of any business meeting, so Grassley has issued that notice today if a majority of the committee is prepared to vote after Thursday’s hearing…

A spokesman for Sweden’s police service said children “threw themselves” out of the way of the car, which appeared to have aimed directly for the group of 100 people. He said: “The car accelerated into the group of students and teachers.

“The car increased speed and drove straight towards them. He drove into two of the students. One was injured on the wrist and possibly the other student was also injured.”

Police have today appealed for any information on the horrifying incident, which took place at 1pm local time (12pm BST) yesterday…

Arizona Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell Named By Republicans To Question Kavanaugh, Accuser – Washington Times

Republicans have chosen the head sex-crime investigator for Maricopa County, Arizona, as the person who will handle the questioning of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser.

Sen. Charles Grassley, Iowa Republican and Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, announced in a statement Tuesday night that his panel had settled on Rachel Mitchell as the person to question the Supreme Court nominee and Christine Blasey Ford.

“The goal is to de-politicize the process and get to the truth, instead of grandstanding and giving senators an opportunity to launch their presidential campaigns. I’m very appreciative that Rachel Mitchell has stepped forward to serve in this important and serious role. Ms. Mitchell has been recognized in the legal community for her experience and objectivity,” Mr. Grassley said.

Qualcomm Says Apple Stole Its Chip Secrets And Gave Them To Intel – The Street

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) has upped the ante in its lawsuit against Apple Inc. (AAPL). The company is now accusing Apple of stealing confidential information and trade secrets in order to aid Qualcomm rival Intel Corp. (INTC) in a filing on Tuesday with the Superior Court of California.

Qualcomm hopes the court will add the new allegations to its ongoing lawsuit against Apple for allegedly breaching the Master Software Agreement the two companies signed in 2010.

“Apple has engaged in a years-long campaign of false promises, stealth, and subterfuge designed to steal Qualcomm’s confidential information and trade secrets for the purpose of improving the performance and accelerating the time to market of lower-quality modem chips, including those developed by Intel,” Qualcomm said in its court filing…

Why Trump’s Tariffs Won’t Cost Consumers A Nickel – Curtis Ellis

Past administrations have called out China for violating the internationally agreed-upon rules of trade for decades. After countless high-level talks, admonitions and appeals, China did nothing to change its cheating ways.

President Trump has dispensed with the talk and taken action, slapping tariffs on billions of dollars of goods China exports to the United States at artificially low prices.

Naysayers predicted the president’s tariffs would tank the stock market and drag down the economy. But the Dow is posting record gains, unemployment is at a 49-year low and the economy remains strong.

The forecasters are at a loss to explain why reality isn’t conforming to what they learned in school. A Wall Street economist tells Reuters, “It’s like we have nothing to fear, but we should.”

Critics also contend that President Trump’s tariffs will inevitably lead to higher prices for consumers. We’ve heard this before…

Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Aggravated Indecent Assault – Fox News
.

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby will serve three to 10 years in state prison, Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O’Neill ruled on Tuesday. The former television superstar, who traded on a squeaky clean, fatherly image, was sentenced after being found guilty of three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault in April in one of the most widely publicized trials in modern history.

Cosby’s legal team asked that he be released on bail, pending his appeal. However, the judge denied that request. He will be sent to prison immediately as Judge O’Neill deemed that he could “quite possibly be a danger to the community.”

The sentence is significantly lighter than the possible maximum sentence for his crimes…

“I Don’t Give A Shit If It’s A Crime”: Fourth Veritas Video Reveals IRS Still Targeting Conservatives – Zero Hedge

James O’Keefe just dropped the fourth installment in his series exposing the corruption and bias in the ‘deep state’. This report features two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials who candidly discuss the IRS’s unfair treatment of conservative non-profit groups.

The two officials in the report are Thomas Sheehy, an IRS tax examiner and member of the Austin Democratic Socialists of America in Texas, and Jerry Semasek, an IRS attorney in Washington, DC.

Sheehy boasts about and appears to justify former disgraced IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who was mired in scandal for losing tens of thousands of emails regarding the Lois Lerner controversy. The Lois Lerner controversy occurred in 2013 and involved revelations showing that the IRS unfairly scrutinized conservative groups.

SHEEHY: “John Koskinen. He got a lot of flak for giving increased scrutiny to these Tea Party groups. Conservatives got really mad at him, he was so cool though because he deleted all the emails, so they could not hold any evidence against him.”…

President Donald Trump signed a new free trade agreement with South Korea on Monday, celebrating it as a major achievement for his administration.

The pair of leaders signed the documents in New York City during the week-long meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

Trump said that the new deal would reduce the trade deficit between South Korea and the United States, helping South Koreans open up their markets on items like farm products, medicines, and vehicles.

“This agreement will reduce bureaucracy and increase prosperity in both of our countries,” he said, promising to work to implement the new trade deal swiftly. The president thanked South Korean President Moon Jae-in for his cooperation in renegotiating the deal…

Federal Judge Declares Albuquerque’s Vehicle Seizure Program Unconstitutional – Washington Free Beacon

A U.S. district judge declared Albuquerque’s civil asset forfeiture program unconstitutional.

Federal judge James O. Browning found that seizing property from those suspected of a crime, even before a legal judgment had been rendered, violated the property owner’s legal right to the presumption of innocence.

The law placed the burden on citizens to absolve themselves from crimes of which they’re accused, even if they had not been charged. He also held that the program’s funds collection, which bankrolls its budget, enticed law enforcement officials to work for personal benefit rather than for civilian protection.

“The City of Albuquerque has an unconstitutional institutional incentive to prosecute forfeiture cases, because, in practice, the forfeiture program sets its own budget and can spend, without meaningful oversight, all of the excess funds it raises from previous years,” Browning, who sits on the District Court of New Mexico, wrote in an order Saturday…

Swedish Crown Jewels Stolen By Motorboat Pirates – Daily Caller

Thieves stole the Swedish crown jewels from Strängnäs Cathedral in Sweden Tuesday and made off in a motorboat, prompting a massive manhunt.

Two unidentified men took a royal orb and two crowns from their display cases in the cathedral around noon, then escaped on a motorboat that they had moored below the church. Police gave chase with boats, helicopters and officers on land.

“We are on land, in the water and in the air,” a police spokesman told The Sydney Morning Herald. The thieves evaded capture, however, leaving the boat to travel in a getaway car. Police believe they are either headed East to Stockholm, or west into the hinterlands.

“We are spreading out in all directions,” the spokesman added. The police had not apprehended them as of 9:30 p.m. local time.

The church was open and staffed with security at the time of the theft, but those present reported that the thieves injured no one “physically or mentally.”…

Trump Extends Short-Term Plans Offered As A Way Out Of Obamacare – Washington Examiner

The Trump administration will allow people to buy short-term health insurance for just under 12 months and extend them for up to three years, reversing an Obama administration-era rule that put a shorter limit on how long these plans can be used.

The administration casts the maneuver as a way to provide alternatives to expensive Obamacare plans for consumers, but Democrats oppose the plans as “junk insurance” that bring the country to a pre-Obamacare era offering inadequate medical coverage.

The move overturns a rule implemented in April 2016 that restricted the time people were allowed to be on these plans to three months. Prior to that, people were able to have them for nearly a year, or 364 days.

Under the Trump administration’s new rules, people can renew their short-term coverage twice, for a maximum of 36 months, Randy Pate, deputy administrator at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said in a call Tuesday with reporters…

Winning: Worker Pay Rises At Highest Rate Since 2008 – Breitbart

Compensation for workers improved this spring at the highest rate since the Great Recession.

Low unemployment has businesses offering better compensation packages to workers, pushing the employment cost index up to 2.8 percent over a year ago levels, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Tuesday. That is the best annual gain since the third quarter of 2008, which saw the index rise 2.9 percent.

It is only slight gain over the quarterly survey released in March, which indicated a 2.7 percent annual gain. The measure of private-sector wages and salaries, which excludes the costs associated with benefits, rose 2.9% year over year, exactly as it did early in the year.

This indicates that wage gains are not accelerating rapidly – something that might convince the Federal Reserve to pick up the pace of interest rate hikes in an effort to keep inflation in line with its target…

California Police Chief: We’ve Arrested The Same Person 83 Times – Red State

There is so much ridiculous news coming out of California these days – jail time for providing plastic straws, driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, sanctuary cities… it’s almost too much to keep up with.

There is so much insanity that Americans might not be aware of another Krazy Kalifornia™ measure that has been burdening the state and law-abiding citizens since 2014.

Prop 47 – deceptively (of course) monikered as the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act – reduced the threshold for felonies, categorizing most non-violent crimes as misdemeanors in an attempt to reduce the prison population.

The result has been an increase in petty crimes as most go unpunished. Police are unable to hold those committing petty crimes and thus the perpetrators are simply released back into the population to continue their offenses. Petty criminals know this and have been offending with near complete impunity over the last few years…

Rape Reports In Paris Increase By 20% And Perpetrators Walk Free – Voice Of Europe

Paris seems to follow the dramatic criminal evolution of London as rape reports increased by 20% in the French capital in just five months, L’express reports.

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) “Medicare for all” government-run healthcare scheme will cost $32 trillion over the next 10 years and would require “historic” tax increases to pay for it, according to a new study released on Monday.

Charles Blahous, the study author, said, “Enacting something like ‘Medicare for all’ would be a transformative change in the size of the federal government.”

Mankind Will Be Extinct Within 50 Years If We Do Not Abolish Plastic Straws – Matt Walsh

I thought I had witnessed the zenith of human courage when Billy Joel recently announced in an interview that “Nazis aren’t good people.” Joel is risking his career, perhaps even his life, to dispel the popular notion that Nazis are decent chaps. But his heroism is mere pond scum in comparison to the warriors who have taken up the fight against plastic straws.

The Board of Supervisors in San Francisco passed an ordinance yesterday banning straws from restaurants and bars in the city. San Francisco, like Seattle, will now be a straw-free safe haven.

The refugee fleeing straw persecution can come to the city and live in paradise and contract hepatitis when he steps on a used heroin needle. But even then he will rejoice, for he is liberated from straws.

Many cities and corporations are following suit. Another city in California will now hand out possible jail sentences to straw dealers…

100 Tapeworm Eggs Found Inside Brain Of 8-Year-Old Girl With Severe Headaches, Seizures – Fox News

The parents of an 8-year-old girl suffering from severe headaches and epileptic seizures for months were both relieved and horrified when doctors told them her diagnosis: 100 tapeworm eggs were inside her brain.

Doctors at Fortis Hospital in New Delhi, India, told India Today the larvae traveled to the girl’s brain through her bloodstream, causing massive swelling. By the time she was hospitalized, the young girl, who has not been identified, was nearly unconscious.

“Her brain scan showed more than a 100 white dots, formed due to tapeworm eggs,” Dr. Praveen Gupta, director of neurology at Fortis Hospital, told the newspaper. “When eggs reach the brain through the nervous system they cause neurocysticercosis, which is characterised by a severe headache, epileptic seizures and confusion.”

9th Circuit Court Of Appeals Rules Americans Have A Constitutional Right To Openly Carry Firearms In Public – The Hill

A federal appeals court on Tuesday ruled that the Constitution’s Second Amendment grants people the right to openly carry a gun in public for self-defense.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made the ruling while rejecting a claim from Hawaii officials that the right should only apply to guns kept at home. The ruling was issued by a three-judge panel on the court and came about a year after the Supreme Court decided not to rule on the case.

Two of the three judges on the 9th Circuit voted to reverse a decision by the U.S. District Court in Hawaii that said officials did not infringe on the rights of George Young – the plaintiff who was twice denied a permit to carry a gun in public.

“We do not take lightly the problem of gun violence,” Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain wrote in Tuesday’s ruling. “But, for better or for worse, the Second Amendment does protect a right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense.”…

Leftist Hellhole Update: San Francisco Approves Measure To Ban Plastic Straws – New York Post

San Francisco supervisors have unanimously approved a ban on plastic straws and takeout containers treated with fluorinated chemicals.

The vote Tuesday followed a ban on plastic straws and stirrers that took effect in Seattle this month. The San Francisco legislation requires a second vote next week.

The legislation also makes napkins and utensils with takeout or delivery available only on request unless there is a self-serve station.

Starting Jan. 1, 2020, food and drink vendors in San Francisco must use carryout containers and food wrappers that are free of fluorinated chemicals.

The chemicals ward against grease and water, but proponents of the ban say the chemicals are harmful and do not break down in compost…

Businesses Linked To Democrat Senator McCaskill’s Husband Awarded $131 Million In Federal Dollars – Kansas City Star
.

.
Businesses tied to U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband have been awarded more than $131 million in federal subsidies since the Missouri Democrat took office in 2007, an analysis by The Kansas City Star found. Joseph Shepard’s personal income from his investments in those businesses has grown exponentially during his wife’s two terms in the Senate.

The federal payments don’t go directly into Shepard’s pocket. Most of the money goes toward operating costs for government-subsidized housing projects Shepard is invested in. Those companies then distribute the profits to Shepard and other investors.

In 2006, the year before McCaskill entered the Senate, her husband’s personal income from those investments was between $1,608 and $16,731…

We know that on or about May 2, 2016, Comey composed a statement summarizing Clinton’s mishandling of classified documents, concluding that she was “grossly negligent.” Those pivotal words have a distinct legal meaning, and are drawn directly from a federal statute, 18 U.S.C. 793(f), which makes it a felony to handle classified documents in a “grossly negligent” manner.

Comey used the exact phrase not once, but twice…

Confirmed: DOJ Used Materially False Information To Secure Wiretaps On Trump Associate – Mollie Hemingway

Newly released documents confirm House and Senate investigators’ claims that the Department of Justice and FBI used materially false and misleading information to secure wiretaps on Carter Page, a former volunteer foreign policy advisor to President Trump.

The highly redacted documents released in response to Freedom of Information Act requests show how the FBI was able to convince the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to surveil the Naval Academy graduate and energy consultant for a year of his life.

The wiretap was applied for and granted in October 2016, shortly before the end of the presidential campaign. Approved applications last for 90 days. The Department of Justice requested and received three renewals, for a total of one year of surveillance.

Despite claiming to the court in 2016 that “the FBI believes that Page has been collaborating and conspiring with the Russian Government,” the government has yet to charge Page with breaking any of the serious laws it alleges he knowingly transgressed…

Massachusetts Governor Signs Bill Allowing Gun Confiscation Without Due Process – Keep And Bear

While the left continues to bully and bluster their way through the court of public opinion, stomping about like a petulant, unattended child, a handful of nefarious narratives are playing out around the nation.

We have the democratic cabal gruesomely clinging to the graves of dead children in Santa Fe, Texas and Parkland, Florida, wailing and sobbing one minute and hamming it up for the camera the next. We have pundits and politicians practically tripping over one another in order to be the first to exploit these miniature corpses.

It’s a horrifying analogy, but a necessary one.

They have used this visceral, guttural reaction to tragedy to guilt the opposition into conceding on the second most important thing that our Founding Fathers guaranteed us: The right to bear arms.

This week, this sentiment has gone too far…

Major Medical Convention Abandons San Francisco Citing Open Drug Use And Mental Illness On The Streets – Hot Air

Tourism is big business in San Francisco, bringing in $9 billion dollars a year to the city’s businesses. Now, a major medical convention expected to bring in 15,000 visitors and drop $40 million in less than a week has decided it will stop bringing its members to the City by the Bay because they don’t feel safe walking the streets.

From the San Francisco Chronicle:

“It’s the first time that we have had an out-and-out cancellation over the issue, and this is a group that has been coming here every three or four years since the 1980s,” said Joe D’Alessandro, president and CEO of S.F. Travel, the city’s convention bureau. “They said that they are committed to this year and to 2023, but nothing in between or nothing thereafter,” D’Alessandro said.

The doctors group told the San Francisco delegation that while they loved the city, postconvention surveys showed their members were afraid to walk amid the open drug use, threatening behavior and mental illness that are common on the streets…

Seattle Passes Citywide Law Based Largely On The Research Of A 9-Year-Old Boy – Washington Examiner

Seattle has made it official: It is now the first major U.S. city to ban plastic drinking straws. As it turns out, the law, which includes a fine of $250 for all violators, is based largely on the unofficial research of a nine-year-old boy.

Probably not the best basis for sound legislation, but what do I know?

The ban, which went into effect Sunday, is an “environmentally friendly move that leaders hope will spark a nationwide conversation about small, everyday changes that people can make to protect the planet.” Or so says the Washington Post.

The paper adds: “Now customers at grocery stores, restaurants, food trucks, even institutional cafeterias have to find another way to get liquid into their mouths. Compostable paper and plastic straws are allowed under the ban.”

The Post notes that the ban carries with it a $250 fine, but stresses that the law is not so much about punitive measures as it’s about “raising awareness.”…

Speaking to the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, or People’s Mujahedeen of Iran, a group that for years was on the U.S.’s terrorism list, Giuliani said European nations and former President Barack Obama had appeased the Islamic regime and said “Trump doesn’t turn his back on freedom fighters.”

“This government is about to collapse, and this is the time to turn on the pressure,” Giuliani told a crowd of thousands of flag-waving MEK followers…

Americans Evacuate From U.S. Consulate In China After Debilitating Sonic Attacks – Zero Hedge

Several U.S. citizens have been evacuated from the U.S. consulate in Guangzhou, China, after falling ill with various neurological symptoms from mysterious “sonic attacks” similar to incidents reported in Havana Cuba which left 20 State Department employees with serious injuries.

On Wednesday night, consulate worker Mark Lenzi and his family were evacuated after hearing strange noises over the course of several months, which Lenzi described as “marbles bouncing and hitting a floor then rolling on an incline with a static sound,” according to the Washington Post.

At first, he and his wife thought that their neighbor – a fellow Foreign Service officer in the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China – was responsible. The neighbor denied having anything to do with it.

A few months later, the headaches started – excruciating pain that lasted for days at a time…

There Are Now More Job Openings Than Unemployed Workers In The U.S. – The Hill

There are now more job vacancies than unemployed workers to fill them in the U.S. for the first time since 2000.

Data released on Tuesday by the Labor Department showed a record 6.7 million job openings in the U.S. in April, a slight increase from 6.63 million in March.

The data also showed just 6.35 million workers categorized as unemployed, down from 6.59 million in March.

“Never before have we had an economy where the number of open jobs exceeds the number of job seekers,” Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “This administration is committed to ensuring that all Americans have the necessary skills to access good, family-sustaining jobs.”

The manufacturing of long-lasting durable goods, including airplanes and machinery, saw some of the biggest increases in job vacancies in April, in addition to the information sector…

One month after the biggest plunge in the U.S. trade deficit since the financial crisis – good news for Trump who has engaged in “trade war” with the rest of the world to boost U.S. trader and exports – the good news continued in April, when according to the Census Bureau, the U.S. deficit shrank again, down 2.1% from a revised $47.2BN to $46.2BN – the lowest since September 2017, and beating not only the $49BN consensus estimate, but also also the lowest Wall Street estimate of $46.2BN.

The number was so good, some were wondering why Trump didn’t pre-tweet it, as he did with the payrolls report.

Incidentally, with today’s revision, the March plunge in the U.S. trade deficit has now risen to $10BN, the highest since 2008, and the second biggest improvement in the U.S. deficit on record.

GOP primary voters made Noem the only woman South Dakota Republicans have nominated for the state’s top job. She advanced to face well-funded Democrat Billie Sutton, a state senator and former professional rodeo cowboy, in the November general election.

Noem credited her primary victory in part to traveling around the state and talking about policies that cast a bold new vision for South Dakota.

“I expect the general election will be competitive as well, but we’re going to work hard,” Noem said. “We will start focusing on that tomorrow.”

Kay Ivey Takes The Republican Primary For Alabama Governor, Moving On To The General Election – WHNT

Gov. Kay Ivey clinched the Republican nomination in Alabama’s gubernatorial primary race Tuesday, and now she seeks to win the office outright after her appointment 14 months ago, when predecessor Robert Bentley resigned in the fallout of a sex-tinged scandal.

8 Reasons To Still Hate Obamacare – Stephen Moore

Remember Obamacare? The fight is far from over on the future of the Obama-era health insurance overhaul.

Republicans are making a list-ditch effort this year to turn the program and the money over to the state. This isn’t full Obamacare repeal, but would make a world of sense because states would be free to experiment and find ways to reduce costs and provide better services.

Democrats are adopting a new political spin, which is that everything is fine with Obamacare. They claim that the only reason premium and deductible costs keep exploding is because President Donald Trump repealed the individual mandate tax – which was nothing more than an unfair penalty on low-income families that can’t afford the high cost of the health law’s mandates.

But if Trump is to blame, why were the costs skyrocketing two years before Trump even entered the Oval Office?…

Iowa Legislature Passes ”Fetal Heartbeat’ Abortion Ban – Reuters

Trump To Roll Back $25 Billion From Omnibus Spending Bill – Daily Caller

President Donald Trump’s administration is going to roll out a recision package in the coming weeks that will roll back $25 billion from the $1.3 trillion spending bill Congress passed in April, a source with first-hand knowledge told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

200 “Mostly African” Migrants Attack Police Cars Sent To Deport A Single “Refugee” In Germany, Force Officers To Flee – Daily Mail

Migrants have forced police to abandon plans to deport a single refugee from a home in Germany.

Then they issued an ultimatum – take the handcuffs from their friend and set him free or risk ‘massive violence.’

Angry migrants hammered on the police vehicles so forcefully that all three were dented. The authorities said the officers feared for their lives and had to beat a retreat. Trump: We’re ‘Seriously Thinking’ Of Creating A Sixth Military Branch Called ‘The Space Force’ – Washington Free Beacon

President Donald Trump on Tuesday told the West Point Black Knights football team his administration is “seriously thinking” of creating a sixth military branch called the “Space Force.”

Trump invited the football team to the White House to present the players and coach with the coveted Commander-in-Chief trophy after they defeated both Air Force and Navy last season. Starting in 1972, the trophy has been awarded to the military service academy that wins the triple-threat match between the Army, Navy, and Air Force academies.

Trump told the cadets the Space Force would join the five current branches of the United States Armed Forces: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

“We were actually thinking of a sixth, and that would be the Space Force,” Trump said. “We are getting very big in space, both militarily and for other reasons, and we are seriously thinking of the Space Force,” Trump added.

The president went on to commend the future roll of the West Point football players…

Trump Gives ‘Full Support’ To Term Limits Push In Congress – Washington Examiner

President Trump on Monday offered his “full support and endorsement” to a bipartisan legislative effort to establish term limits for members of Congress.

“I recently had a terrific meeting with a bipartisan group of freshman lawmakers who feel very strongly in favor of Congressional term limits. I gave them my full support and endorsement for their efforts. #DrainTheSwamp,” Trump tweeted.

Trump endorsed term limits as a candidate in 2016, but the issue has not received significant attention since he took office. A White House spokesman did not respond to a request for comment on meeting details.

In an afternoon statement, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., said that he organized a group including four other lawmakers to meet with Trump. Fitzpatrick said the meeting occurred on Wednesday and included Reps. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., Ro Khanna, D-Calif., Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, and Vincente Gonzalez, D-Texas…

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Reveals Evidence That Iran Is Breaking Obama’s Insane Nuclear Deal – Newsweek
.

.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Iran of continuing nuclear activities in spite of a 2015 agreement in which it pledged to curb uranium enrichment in exchange for sanctions relief.

In a special address Monday, Netanyahu said Israel obtained half a ton of top-secret data relating to Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program.

Netanyahu stood before a slideshow presentation and claimed Iran has secretly pursued “Project Amad,” a plan to “design, produce and test…” five nuclear warheads, each with 10 kilotons of explosive yield and designed to be fitted onto a missile. He claimed that he had 100,000 “exact copies” of Iran’s atomic archive to prove it…

The Irreproducibility Crisis Of Modern Science – Lloyd Billingsley

“Most Americans don’t even know that the crisis exists,” explain David Randall and Christopher Welser of the National Association of Scholars. Help has now arrived in The Irreproducibility Crisis of Modern Science: Cause, Consequences and the Road to Reform. The general reader might find the title puzzling but the concept is simple.

If a scientific study is to be legitimate, it must be reproducible because replication allows examination of the data and the possibility of different conclusions. If the study is not reproducible it is not really science, and as the authors show, that type of non-science is now common.

In June of 2016, Oona Lِnnstedt and Peter Eklِv of Uppsala University published a paper in Science warning of the dangers of microplastic particles in the ocean. The study got considerable media attention but as it turned out, “Lِnnstedt never performed the research that she and Eklِv reported.” So in philosophical terms, it had an existential problem, and veracity is also an issue…

Double Kabul Suicide Bombing Kills 25, Including 9 Reporters – Circa

A coordinated double suicide bombing by the Islamic State group hit central Kabul on Monday morning, killing at least 25 people, including nine Afghan journalists, officials said.

An AFP photographer, a cameraman for a local TV station and several reporters for the Afghan branch of Radio Free Europe were among the fatalities, police said. At least 45 people were wounded in the twin attacks, according to Kabul police spokesman, Hashmat Stanekzai, who also said four policemen were among those killed.

The attack was the latest in a relentless string of deadly large-scale bombings and assaults that have struck Kabul and elsewhere in Afghanistan so far this year. And even as the Afghan capital reeled from Monday’s assault, a suicide car bombing a few hours later in the southern province of Kandahar killed 11 children, a police spokesman said.

In a statement posted on an IS-affiliated website, the Islamic State group said two of its martyrdom seekers carried out the double Kabul bombings…

Food Stamp, Welfare, Medicaid, Disability Rolls All Dropping Under Trump – Investor’s Business Daily
.

.
Earlier this month, the government reported that enrollment in food stamps plunged by nearly 600,000 in one month. Is this part of a broader trend toward greater self-reliance?

The Department of Agriculture, which runs the food stamp program – officially called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – reports that enrollment in January was 40.7 million, the lowest it’s been since May 2010.

In the months since President Trump has been in office, the number of people collecting food stamps plunged by nearly 2 million. The same is true for welfare. Enrollment in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program dropped 12% last year, to reach 2.3 million…

Former Chief Ethics Lawyer For Bush Administration Running For Senate As Democrat – The Hill

Richard Painter, the former chief ethics lawyer for the George W. Bush administration, is expected to announce on Monday he will run as a Democrat for the U.S. Senate seat previously held by Al Franken (D-Minn.).

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported Sunday that Painter, who has been a frequent critic of President Trump, recently filed paperwork with federal elections officials to run against Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.), who replaced Franken in January.

Painter launched a campaign website in recent days, and his campaign’s Twitter page identifies him as “running for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.”

Painter is scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday at the state Capitol to announce his plans.

Franken resigned from the Senate following a series of allegations of sexual misconduct, including that he groped women without their consent…
