Rick Perry lays it on the line: Planned Parenthood is profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life

As Steven Crowder suggests Perry is dead on about this

As we covered yesterday, the murderous taxpayer funded organization known as Planned Parenthood has been exposed for the monster it is. One of the group’s foremost “physicians” was caught, on camera, describing the process of selling baby parts leftover from partial birth abortions. It’s sick. It’s immoral. These people should be in prison.

Rick Perry agrees. In a no-holds-barred interview with Breitbart News, Perry said:

“The video showing a Planned Parenthood employee selling the body parts of aborted children is a disturbing reminder of the organization’s penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life.”

And, Perry has a long record on being pro-life

In addition to signing a bill prohibiting taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood, Perry also signed “Women’s Right to Know” Act in 2003, a parental consent law and ban on abortions after 26 weeks gestation in 2005, as well as the new funding for abortion alternatives in the 2005 state budget, the sonogram law in 2011, and perhaps most famously, supported House Bill 2 (HB 2) in 2013, the law that banned abortions after 20 weeks and imposed stricter safety requirements on abortion clinics.

When former State Sen. Wendy Davis filibustered HB 2 at the end of the first 2013 special session, Perry called the Texas Legislature back for a second special session the very next day. The bill passed in that second special session.

At a news conference in 2013 during the HB 2 debate, Texas Right to Life Executive Director Elizabeth Graham recounted many of these pro-life bills, saying that during Perry’s tenure as Governor, Texas had “passed more pro-life legislation in the last 10 years than in history.”

Consistency folks, constistency

Roger Simon on Perry as the man in 2016

Perry is an impressive man, was a tremendous governor, and, in my view was easily the best choice in 2012. This time we have other very qualified men, like Jindal, Cruz, and Walker but if given my choice, I would nominate Perry. Roger Simon offers a great analysis

Rick Perry has a terrific op-ed (an excerpt from a speech at the National Press Club) in the Wall Street Journal Monday morning urging the GOP to get back in the game with black voters – ”Republicans, Race and Economic Opportunity for All.”  The WSJ’s editors were apparently impressed, too. The paper did the rare thing of devoting an editorial – “Perry’s Race Talk” — to praising the article and, by inference, helping recharge Perry’s presidential candidacy.

Perry’s piece is well detailed (you should read it) but the substance is what many of us have thought for a while.  It’s time for Republicans to go into African-American communities with our proposals to revive those communities, since the Democrats, who have been in near total control of them for decades, have failed utterly with their approach. We must engage, be the party of Lincoln once again, start supporting the 14th Amendment (“equal protection”) as well as the states-rights oriented 10th.  Perry is openly self-critical, which is so often a good strategy.

This op-ed comes — and how could it not — at an interesting moment, not just because of the violence in Ferguson, Baltimore, etc., but in the wake of Donald Trump’s, let’s say, “much remarked upon” comments about Mexicans during his presidential campaign announcement a couple of weeks ago.  (Donald’s almost as worried about rape as Kirsten Gillibrand.)  Like most of the Republican candidates, Perry condemned Trump’s comments, calling them “offensive.”  But unlike the other candidates, and Trump obviously, this man has walked the walk on border security.  More than any other candidate, I trust Rick actually to get border security  accomplished — no racial slurs necessary.

Go read the whole thing folks. It is well worth your time

Rick Perry announcement speech

Here you go. All I want is that Republican voters choose a Conservative, with principles, because if we do, we will win next November! Rick Perry IS a principled Conservative, as are Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, and Bobby Jindal, who has not announced yet. Governor Perry I know best of these men. He would, I believe make tremendous president, as would the other three men I mentioned. The rest of the field, I cannot say much for. I like Ben Carson, but his remarks on gun rights fell far short of acceptable. Again, all I ask, is for Republican to choose wisely. I have not decided yet who I would most like to see beat Hillary, but, I do know that it will atjke a CONSERVATIVE to defeat her!
