79-Year-Old Calls Police, Says He Hasn’t Eaten In Two Days. The Response From Officers ‘Shocked’ Him – The Blaze

A 79-year-old Tennessee man was stunned by how members of his local police department responded over the weekend when he dialed 911 because he hadn’t eaten in two days.

.

.
WKRN-TV reported that the man, who asked the station to remain anonymous, hadn’t been able to eat after a caretaker allegedly stole his debit card the weekend before.

The 79-year-old called police for help on Saturday night – and their response is now getting national attention.

Five officers with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department drove to a local grocery store, purchased $160 of food from their own pockets and headed to the man’s home to stock up his kitchen.

.

.
When the officers arrived with the groceries, the man was astonished.

“I think he was shocked – at the amount of food that we bought and just the fact that it was there without question,” officer Nathan Bolton told WKRN.

.

.
“It’s difficult for us to see as police officers. We’re out here to take care of the public at large and that doesn’t always mean stopping a car. Sometimes it’s us doing little things like this,” officer Mark Billions echoed.

According to WKRN, the man has a fixed income and relies on his Social Security checks each month to make ends meet.

Officers were able to track down the man’s caretaker who allegedly stole his debit card and used it to make purchases at various stores. The woman, 36-year-old Tammy Brooks, was arrested the next day and charged with theft and fraudulent use of a debt card.

Texas National Guard Troops Will Be Deputized As State Police Officers For Border Patrol Duty

These New Revelations Prove Rick Perry Is Not Backing Down From Obama On The Border – Western Journalism

.

.
Remember the laughter and snarky comments from the Left and its Ministry of Information when Texas governor Rick Perry activated one thousand Texas National Guard soldiers for duty at the southern border? “Ha ha, they’ll just stand around like wooden Indians and watch ‘undocumented immigrants’ walk by,” we heard from people Beltway liberals who hate conservatives, especially conservatives with a drawl.

The Left is about to get another lesson about underestimating those who live in “fly over country.” There is a local website (callthecops.net) that is reporting what Perry’s plan actually involves. Contrary to what has been postulated – even by some uninformed GOPe types – the Texas National Guard will not be standing around directing illegal aliens to the nearest aid station. They will be deputized as state police officers who will have the same powers as other sworn officers. Moreover, Perry has ordered the construction of holding camps modeled after military barracks where illegals who walk over the border will be housed until their case is adjudicated.

This plan has every chance to succeed. Those who understand the Guard and Reserve services know these units are very likely to have substantial numbers of troops who are police officers in civilian life. The transition to police work in a military uniform will not be difficult.

Given today’s headlines that tell of a new plan from Barack Obama to defeat America by flying illegal aliens directly into our country, it is likely that he believes Governor Perry has developed a powerful plan to check his attacks.

So what are the possible outcomes of this plan? If it is left to stand, it will slow the flow of illegal aliens until a better solution can be devised. It will show other governors how to handle this attack from Obama.

If it is challenged in court, it will be immediately brought before the full Supreme Court as a 10th Amendment case; and in view of Obama’s many recent losses in the Court, this could be another loss for him. It is hard to see how Obama can get this Court to declare the 10th Amendment unconstitutional.

Nevertheless, if all else fails, Perry’s plan will certainly lay a heavy chilling effect on the illegals who want to walk in and register as Democrats to get free stuff for life. It will slow the flow.

Governor Rick Perry’s plan is not a permanent counterattack to Obama’s attacks on America, but it is a short term win for America!

TSA Spent $900M On Behavior Detection Officers Who Detected 0 Terrorists

TSA Spent $900 Million On Behavior Detection Officers Who Detected 0 Terrorists – CNS

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spent approximately $900 million over the last 5 years for behavior detection officers to identify high-risk passengers but, so far, according to the General Accountability Office (GAO), only 0.59% of the passengers flagged were arrested and among those not one was charged with terrorism – zero.

.

In 2003, the TSA started testing its Screening of Passengers by Observation Technique (SPOT) program, which was then fully deployed in 2007. About 3,000 behavior detection officers (BDO) “had been deployed to 176 of the more than 450 TSA-regulated airports in the United States” by fiscal year 2012 (Oct. 1, 2011 – Sept. 30, 2012), according to the GAO.

Those BDO officers are trained to “identify passenger behaviors indicative of stress, fear, or deception and refer passengers” and their baggage for additional screening, reported the GAO in its Nov. 8, 2013 report, Aviation Security: TSA Should Limit Future Funding for Behavior Detection Activities.

Since 2007, the TSA has spent approximately $900 million on the SPOT program, said the GAO.

During the SPOT screening, the TSA’s behavior detection officers are supposed to look for and identify “high-risk passengers based on behavioral indicators that indicate mal-intent,” said the GAO. The BDOs can refer the passengers to a law enforcement officer (LEO) for further investigation. From there, if warranted, a passenger (or passengers) can be arrested.

In a statement for the Subcommittee on Transportation Security, Stephen M. Lord, the director of homeland security and justice issues at the GAO, said that in fiscal years 2011 and 2012, for the 49 airports the GAO analyzed, there were 61,000 SPOT referrals, meaning that many passengers apparently displayed “behavioral indicators that indicate mal-intent.”

From that number, 8,700 (13.6%) were referred to a LEO. And from those LEO referrals, 365 (4%) “resulted in an arrest,” said the GAO.

That 4% of 61,000 SPOT referrals is 0.59%. In other words, for the SPOT referrals, 99.41% were not arrested. For the 0.59%, none were arrested for “terrorism.”

For that 0.59% arrested, the GAO stated the following in a footnote: “The SPOT database identifies six reasons for arrest, including (1) fraudulent documents, (2) illegal alien, (3) other, (4) outstanding warrants, (5) suspected drugs, and (6) undeclared currency.”

CNSNews.com asked Director Lord if it were accurate to report that of those 365 persons arrested, not one was arrested for “terrorism”? Lord answered by e-mail: “This is accurate for the arrests but please see footnote 98 and 99 on page 45 of the full report (GAO-14-159) as TSA believes that some of these referrals to law enforcement might be related to terrorism but has no supporting documentation or system to track the basis for these referrals.”

Footnote 98 says: “TSA was unable to provide documentation to support the number of referrals that were forwarded to law enforcement for further investigation for potential ties to terrorism.”

In his statement, Director Lord said, as explained in the November 2013 report, “TSA cannot demonstrate the effectiveness of its behavior detection activities, and available evidence does not support whether behavioral indicators can be used to identify threats to aviation security.”

The report concluded by recommending that “TSA limit future funding for its behavior detection activities,” but “DHS did not concur with our recommendation.”

Immigration Law Enforcement Officers Ordered To Ignore Amnesty Shelters At Mexican Border (Video)

U.S. Amnesty Shelters Revealed: Law Enforcement Ordered To Stand Down – Big Government

The El Paso Rescue Mission shelter stands approximately 100 yards from the U.S./Mexico border. Border Patrol agents have been ordered by their higher-ups not to go there and enforce U.S. laws on the property, according to the Vice President of the Local 1929 Border Patrol Council, Stu Harris.

.

“They will not allow Border Patrol agents to go onto the property to enforce U.S. laws,” he said. He further stated that the border fence in the area was left unfinished and that another fence between the border and the shelter was left damaged and opened (as shown in the video below). “We have about 100 panels of border fence just sitting there at our nearby training area,” he said.

The shelter, part of a broad local coalition to help the society’s most vulnerable, does not just serve U.S. citizens or others who are legally in the U.S. The coalition website indicates that 65% of the individuals they serve speak English as a first language; it does not specify the percentage who are legal immigrants. One of the groups in the coalition specifically aids “agricultural workers,” and its website states it serves “…workers, regardless of their legal status in this country,” and that illegal immigrants “have the right to advance their economic, social and political status through vigorous advocacy of fundamental rights.” The website further states: “Born of decades of neglect and poverty in the fields of America, this movement is a response to the need for social change.”

Such “law-free” zones on U.S. soil are not restricted to the border area. They exist across the U.S. One example is Austin, Texas’ Casa Marianella. The group provides aid to “undocumented worker communities,” and does so in plain sight. It not only openly discusses its shelter for illegal immigrants and “asylum seekers,” but during my own experiences helping the FBI combat human trafficking, it was common knowledge that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) routinely visits the center – but does not enforce U.S. laws on the center’s grounds. These amnesty shelters are not alone.

.

.
The exploitation of U.S. efforts to help the world’s most vulnerable with a program for asylum was recently discussed here on Breitbart News. In my own experiences helping human trafficking victims, both with the FBI and in private efforts as a citizen, I began to see a trend in often left-of-center open-borders advocates attempting to exploit our nation’s aid for human trafficking victims to present any and all illegal immigrants they helped as being “human trafficking victims.” Such efforts are increasing, and many of the open borders groups who have an exemption from U.S. laws are using “asylum” and “human trafficking victim” as a means of achieving backdoor amnesty.
