Oklahoma County District Attorney Hits Leftist Rioters With Terrorism Charges – Washington Examiner

A district attorney in Oklahoma hit several protesters with charges of assault, rioting, and terrorism in connection to recent violent protests that took place in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said on Friday that he chose to pursue the toughest charges against the rioters because he does not support the lawlessness that has taken place in some parts of the country, including the “police-free” region of Seattle known as the Capitol Hill Occupied Protests, or CHOP.

“This is not Seattle,” he told the Oklahoman. “We’re not putting up with this lawlessness here.”

Prater leveled strict charges against many of those who were arrested during the protests. Isael Antonio Ortiz, 21, Eric Christopher Ruffin, 26, and Malachai Davis, 18, were hit with terrorism charges after police alleged that Ortiz burned an Oklahoma County sheriff’s van during protests on May 30…

Mississippi House Votes To Redesign State Flag That Contains Confederate Symbol – Just News
.

.
The Mississippi state House of Representatives on Sunday overwhelmingly approved a bill that calls for removing the state flag and redesigning it to eliminate the controversial Confederate symbol it currently bears.

The 91-23 vote means that the state Senate will now decide on the matter. Republican Gov. Tate Reeves has indicated willingness to sign legislation if it reaches his desk, according to Mississippi Today, though the outlet reported that the state executive had not taken a firm stance on the issue of altering the flag.

“The gallery of the Senate broke out in applause when they heard that the House had passed the flag bill,” the Clarion Ledger reported…

Nearly 300 Police Officers In DemoNazi-Controlled New York File For Retirement As Violent Crime Surges – Breitbart

Close to 300 New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers have filed for retirement over the last month amid riots against the police and as violent crime keeps surging.

According to figures released to the New York Post, about 272 NYPD uniformed officers have filed for retirement since riots over the death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd began in late May. At the same time last year, about 183 officers had filed for retirement, indicating a nearly 50 percent spike in retirements this year.

One officer, who wanted to wait to retire until he hit 30 years with the NYPD, told the Post “It’s an all-out war on cops and we have no support.” More than 300 officers were injured in the recent riots.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has vowed to cut funding to the NYPD and Commissioner Dermot Shea has announced the disbanding of the city’s 600-officer undercover anti-crime unit that was responsible for keeping shootings and violent crime down…

DemoNazi-Controlled California Legislature Votes To Remove Anti-Discrimination Language From State Constitution – Daily Wire
.

.
The California legislature voted last week to strike anti-discrimination language from the State Constitution.

In a 30-10 vote, the legislature passed the Assembly Constitutional Amendment No. 5 (ACA 5), which removes the words “The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin,” from California’s constitution, which were put in place in 1996 with Proposition 209.

Proposition 209 effectively repealed the state’s Affirmative Action policies, which allowed public institutions such as schools and universities to give preferential treatment to underrepresented groups even if they were less than qualified…

Gropey Joe Says He’ll Force All Americans To Wear Masks In Public As President – Fox News

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said Thursday that he would use federal power to require Americans to wear face masks in public – a move that would mark a significant intervention by the federal government and could see considerable pushback from states.

Biden made the comments in an interview with CBS affiliate KDKA, in which he spoke about what he thinks should be done to reopen the country from the coronavirus shutdown. He said that he wants to see greater use of masks.

“The one thing we do know, these masks make a gigantic difference. I would insist that everybody in public be wearing that mask,” he said. “Anyone to reopen, it would have to make sure that they walked into a business that had masks.”

The interviewer asked if he would use “federal leverage” to mandate mask-wearing,

“Yes, I would from an executive standpoint, yes I would,” he said, to which the interviewer asked if he would then be mandating mask-wearing…

Attorney General Bill Barr revealed that the Department of Justice has approximately 500 ongoing active investigations into rioters and vandals involved in violence and destruction during the nationwide crime spree following the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd.

Bill confirmed that the federal government is using its anti-terrorism law enforcement task forces to properly investigate and charge suspects in the widespread political violence.

“When the real violence started around May 25, 26, and so forth, we started using our joint terrorist task forces around the country. And there are 35 of them around the country.”

Trump Administration Asks Supreme Court To Ax Obamacare – PJ Media

The zombie government program known as Obamacare just won’t die. Donald Trump has tried several times to end its existence and each time has come up short.

The president has, however, been able to chip away at its more onerous aspects, including killing the individual mandate. And the death of the mandate could lead to the death of the entire Affordable Care Act. The administration, along with two dozen states, submitted an 83-page brief to the Supreme Court asking them to declare the act unconstitutional, using the repeal of the individual mandate as a primary reason.

NRO:

In 2017, when Republicans in Congress failed to repeal and replace Obamacare, they settled for removing the individual mandate, the penalty levied against those who have no health-insurance coverage. Now, the administration is throwing its weight behind the argument that the removal of that key portion of the law invalidates the rest of it…

Federal Judge Strikes Down Cuomo And De Blasio Lockdown Orders For Churches – Washington Examiner
.

.
A federal judge on Friday struck down orders issued by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio that limit the size of church services.

The ruling, a preliminary injunction delivered by District Judge Gary Sharpe, notes that by endorsing protests for racial justice while simultaneously discouraging large gatherings in churches, both Cuomo and de Blasio undermined their claim that their lockdown orders were “generally applicable.”

“The State argues, in overly-simplistic fashion, that the challenged laws only incidentally impose a burden on religious exercise, and they are neutral and generally applicable, and therefore, only rational basis need be shown, which is self-evident: preventing the spread of COVID-19,” Sharpe wrote…

DemoNazi Corruption Update: Councilman, Councilman-Elect And 2 Others Arrested On Election Fraud Charges In Paterson, NJ – North Jersey

In a case that has cast a cloud over Paterson’s political landscape, the Attorney General on Thursday announced voter fraud charges against two of the winners in the city’s recent ward council elections, along with two campaign workers involved in a third race.

Councilman Michael Jackson, 48, and Councilman-elect Alex Mendez, 45, were accused of violating state law governing the way mail-in ballots are supposed to be collected and filled out, said Attorney General Gurbir Grewal.

Mendez, who was charged with second-degree election fraud and five other crimes, won the 3rd Ward election. He allegedly handled “one or more voter registration applications, which he knew to be false, fictitious, or fraudulent, in that he knew the person for whom the application was procured was not eligible to vote in the election district identified on the application,” according to authorities.

Mendez, who won by 240 votes, is scheduled to take office on July 1 and it’s not clear what impact – if any – the charges against him will have on his inauguration…

Trump Administration Takes Aim At Environmental Activist Investors – Epoch Times

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) proposed a rule on June 23 to prevent special interest activists from interfering with retiree investments.

The rule, which aims to protect American investors, will not allow retirement-plan fiduciaries to sacrifice financial returns for environmental, social, and other policy goals.

“Private employer-sponsored retirement plans are not vehicles for furthering social goals or policy objectives that are not in the financial interest of the plan,” Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia said in a statement. “Rather, ERISA plans should be managed with unwavering focus on a single, very important social goal: providing for the retirement security of American workers.”

Through the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), DOL oversees private retirement funds such as 401(k) accounts and pensions to protect savings of Americans from mismanagement and abuse. According to the DOL, $10.7 trillion is invested in private pension plans…

Blunder Or Lie? Gropey Joe Claims 120 Million Dead From Covid – PJ Media

With Joe Biden, you can never tell if he lied or if he blundered. Today at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, Joe Biden said that 120 million Americans have already died of COVID. That’s why we need Obamacare, or something.

Numbers aren’t the strong suit of #BarelyThereBiden. Indeed, it’s difficult to determine which cards he’s still holding, and which ones fell on the floor. You’ll remember, of course, when he said that 150 million Americans have died of gun violence.

So he defeated the NRA, but half the country died anyway. Now, today, the other half died of the CCP coronavirus pandemic. At this rate there will be nobody left to vote for Joe Biden by election day. Thoughts and prayers…

‘Defund The Police’: NYC Shootings Explode Amid Disbanding Of Anti-Crime Units, Reassignment Of Hundreds Of Officers – Daily Wire

As calls from the Left intensify to abolish the police, and New York City takes action to remove officers and dismantle vital anti-crime units, the city that never sleeps surged in gun violence by a stunning 358% since this time last year.

“It has been nearly a quarter century since New York City experienced as much gun violence in the month of June as it has seen this year,” The New York Times reported Tuesday.

NYC “logged 125 shootings in the first three weeks of the month, more than double the number recorded over the same period last year, police data show,” the report noted. “Gunmen opened fire during house parties, barbecues and dice games, and carried out coldly calculated street executions.”

Chief of Crime Control Strategies Michael LiPetri said you would “have to go back to 1996 to have a worse start of June.”

Over this past weekend, 38 people were shot in just 72 hours, and that total only grew larger by Monday…

Leftist Virtue Signaling Update: Dixie Chicks Drop ‘Dixie’ From Name To Promote New Album – Zero Hedge

The Dixie Chicks have changed their name ahead of their first album in 14 years, dropping the “Dixie” and renaming themselves “The Chicks.”

The move comes amid national protests over the history of race relations in the United States – and was perhaps inspired by a Jun 17 article in Variety titled “After Lady Antebellum, Is It Time for the Dixie Chicks to Rethink Their Name?”

As Variety’s Jeremy Helligar writes:

“Dixie,” for the record, is the epitome of white America, a celebration of a Southern tradition that is indivisible from Black slaves and those grand plantations where they were forced to toil for free.

The origin of the word, though, is unclear. One theory links it to Jeremiah Dixon, who along with Charles Mason, drew the Mason-Dixon line as the border between four states that later became the unofficial separation between free states and slaves states…

Strzok Notes Reveal Gropey Joe Knew About Flynn Probe Despite His Denials – Breitbart

Former Vice President and now 2020 Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed months ago that he knew “nothing” about moves to investigate former Trump National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Michael Flynn, but newly-released documents proved otherwise.

Biden, appearing in May on ABC News’ This Week, was asked by news anchor and host George Stephanopoulos what he knew about moves to investigate Flynn while he was vice president. Biden first responded, “I knew nothing about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn.”

When confronted by Stephanopoulos that he attended a now-famous January 2017 Oval Office meeting with then-President Obama and other top officials where they discussed Flynn, Biden claimed he understood the question to be whether he had anything to do with Flynn’s prosecution.

Then he said, “I was aware that they had asked for an investigation,” without specifying who “they” were…

Supreme Court Hands Trump Administration Win On Deportation Powers – Fox News

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday for the Trump administration in a key immigration case, determining that a federal law limiting an asylum applicant’s ability to appeal a determination that he lacked a credible fear of persecution from his home country does not violate the Constitution.

The ruling means the administration can deport some people seeking asylum without allowing them to make their case to a federal judge. The 7-2 ruling applies to those who fail their initial asylum screenings, making them eligible for quick deportation.

In a decision in the case of Dept. of Homeland Security v. Thuraissigiam, the court ruled that the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) does not violate the Constitution’s Suspension Clause…

Dozens Of Seattle Businesses Sue City Over Handling Of ‘CHOP’ Zone – KING-TV

A collection of Seattle businesses, property owners, and residents sued the city over its tolerance of an “occupied” protest zone saying officials have been complicit in depriving them of their rights to their property.

The plaintiffs, including a tattoo parlor and auto repair shop, emphasized in the lawsuit filed Wednesday that they were not trying to undermine the anti-police brutality or Black Lives Matter messaging of the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.”

“This lawsuit is about the constitutional and other legal rights of Plaintiffs – businesses, employees, and residents in and around CHOP – which have been overrun by the City of Seattle’s unprecedented decision to abandon and close off an entire city neighborhood, leaving it unchecked by the police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public at large.

Federal Authorities Sent $1.4 Billion In Stimulus Checks To 1 Million Dead People – Epoch Times

A government watchdog has found that federal authorities sent COVID-19 stimulus checks worth some $1.4 billion to over 1 million dead people. The Government Accountability Office (GAO), an agency that reports to Congress, released the findings in a June 25 report on the federal response to the pandemic.

The GAO noted in its report that as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Treasury Department “moved quickly” to disburse over 160 million economic impact payments, the official name for the CCP virus stimulus checks, the agencies left themselves open to misallocation risk.

“The agencies faced difficulties delivering payments to some individuals, and faced additional risks related to making improper payments to ineligible individuals, such as decedents, and fraud,” the watchdog said.

The IRS and Treasury jointly disbursed 160.4 million economic impact payments worth $269.3 billion…

Flavored E-cigarettes Are Officially Illegal In New York – New York Post

Flavored e-cigarette products are officially illegal in New York – at least for the next 90 days, state health officials voted late Tuesday.

Following an emergency executive action from Gov. Andrew Cuomo to ban all flavored vape products besides menthol on Sunday, the Public Health and Health Planning Council voted unanimously to implement the move just after 5 p.m.

New York vape shops and bodegas have a two-week grace period before enforcement begins, state health officials said. They’ve been instructed to clean up their shops and remove all of the offending flavored items off the shelves during that time.

If shop owners are caught with any flavored e-liquids, they’ll be fined $2,000 per unit, the Department of Health said in a press release. Once the 90-day period is over, the council will have to reconvene and vote again to extend it another 90 days. If they don’t, the order will expire.

Cuomo wants the state legislature to draft a law that would make the ban permanent…

Doomsdays That Didn’t Happen: Think Tank Compiles Decades’ Worth Of Dire Climate Predictions – Fox News

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently suggested Miami would disappear in “a few years” due to climate change. The United Nations is convening a “Climate Action Summit” next week. And climate activist Greta Thunberg is on Capitol Hill this week telling lawmakers they must act soon.

But while data from NASA and other top research agencies confirms global temperatures are indeed rising, a newly compiled retrospective indicates the doomsday rhetoric is perhaps more overheated.

The dire predictions, often repeated in the media, warned of a variety of impending disasters – famine, drought, an ice age, and even disappearing nations – if the world failed to act on climate change…

President Trump Says He Will ‘Substantially Increase’ Iran Sanctions Over Attack On Saudi Arabia Oil Facilities – USA Today

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is hitting Iran with new economic sanctions over an attack on Saudi Arabia oil facilities.

“I have just instructed the Secretary of the Treasury to substantially increase Sanctions on the country of Iran!” Trump tweeted. He did not specify what those sanctions would be.

Trump made the announcement as his administration considers a variety of responses, both economic and military, to what it calls Iran’s involvement in last weekend’s attack on a Saudi oil production. Iran denies the attack, and accuses the United States of warmongering.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to speak with leaders there about potential responses to the oil facility attack. Pompeo has blamed Iran for Saturday’s strikes on the Abqaiq oil processing plant and a key Saudi oil field, where an estimated 5.7 million barrels of oil are produced each day. North Carolina High School Teacher: VP Mike Pence Should Be “Shot In The Head” – Big League Politics

Vice President Pence had been in the area to campaign for congressional candidate Dan Bishop, who has since triumphed in a contentious special election against a Democrat.

Adult Son Threatens Mass Shooting To Avoid Going To State Fair With Parents, Police Say – Crime Online

Three JP Morgan Traders Charged For “Massive” Gold Market Manipulation Fraud – Zero Hedge

Both men were put on leave over the summer as the DoJ’s investigation neared its conclusion, and Nowak was previously named in a civil suit brought by the CFTC.

The game in this case is that Nadler wants to pretend he’s emperor with no guidelines while not having to pay the political price of having House Democrats actually vote as a majority to impeach.

Trump Authorizes Use Of Emergency Oil Reserve After Saudi Attacks – The Hill

President Trump on Sunday announced he had authorized the use of the U.S.’s emergency oil reserve in response to a series of drone attacks in Saudi Arabia that have disrupted the Gulf country’s crude output.

“Based on the attack on Saudi Arabia, which may have an impact on oil prices, I have authorized the release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, if needed, in a to-be-determined amount sufficient to keep the markets well-supplied,” Trump said in a series of tweets. “I have also informed all appropriate agencies to expedite approvals of the oil pipelines currently in the permitting process in Texas and various other States.”

Established in the 1970s in response to the Arab oil embargo, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is the world’s largest crude oil stash.

Located along parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast, it has been used a handful of times times since its conception: during the first Gulf War in 1991, after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 and following supply chain disruptions in Libya in 2011.

.

.
A former offensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Bucs has been charged with a false report of a crime, insurance fraud and concealing a license plate in connection with the burglary and torching of his own restaurant.

Edawn Louis Coughman was captured leaving the scene of his restaurant. Inside the eatery, police discovered racial slurs scrawled on the walls as well as “MAGA” and swastikas.

It certainly gives a new twist to the idea of a fake hate crime. Mr. Coughman is not the world’s dumbest criminal, but he’s close.

“Officers saw racially motivated words, swastikas, and ‘MAGA,’” Pihera said. “Several booth cushions were sliced open…

Trump Celebrates ‘Historic Milestone’ Of 150th Judge Confirmed: ‘Amazing!’ – Breitbart

President Trump celebrated the Senate confirmation of his 150th judicial nominee in a tweet Saturday, calling it “amazing!”

The Republican-led Senate confirmed Trump’s 150th judicial nominee on Wednesday – a significant milestone that continues to fill one of the president’s key campaign promises of putting Constitutional conservative judges in the courts.

According to the Washington Times:

Six district court nominees won confirmation Wednesday, bringing the president’s total number of appointed judges to the lower federal courts to 105. Mr. Trump has also appointed 43 circuit court nominees and two Supreme Court justices since taking office.

The Times notes that Trump’s judicial confirmations surpass those of Obama’s– “who only saw 20 circuit court nominees and 74 district court judges confirmed during the same period of time.”…

Psychopathic Leftist Update: Remains Of 2,246 Dead Babies Discovered In Household Of Deceased Abortion Doctor – Big League Politics
.

.
The medically preserved remains of 2,246 fetuses were found in the home of abortionist Ulrich George Klopfer, after the premises were searched following his death on Sept. 3.

The Will County (Illinois) Coroner’s Office received word about Klopfer’s collection of babies from an attorney representing his family, and the Sheriff’s office and crime scene investigators joined them to remove the fetal remains. The Coroner’s Office is currently in possession of them, and they have not announced how they will be disposed.

Klopfer’s license to perform abortions was suspended by the Indiana Medical Licensing Board in 2015, after it was discovered that he broke state law while performing the procedure on two 13-year-old girls. The abortionist never took responsibility that he did anything wrong…

California State Legislature Passes Bill To Ban Renewal Of Contracts With Private Prisons After 2020 – Epoch Times

The California State Legislature passed a bill on Sept. 11 to ban renewal of contracts with for-profit private prisons inside and outside the state after Jan. 2020, including some detention centers currently run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The bill prohibits the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation “on and after January 1, 2020” from renewing its contract with for-profit prisons inside and outside the state to jail state prison inmates.

It “would also prohibit, with exceptions, the operation of a private detention facility, as defined, within the state.”

It also prohibits the department from incarcerating state prison inmates under its jurisdiction, into a private, for-profit prison facility from “January 1, 2028.”…

Joe Arpaio Sues Sleazeballs At New York Times For Defamation – Washington Times
.

.
Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio sued The New York Times on Tuesday saying the paper defamed him in a venomous August column celebrating his latest election loss, accusing him of extensive illegal behavior and calling him “a sadist masquerading as a public servant.”

And in the lawsuit, filed in federal district court in Washington, D.C., the former Maricopa County lawman also hinted he may make another run for office in 2020, eyeing the Senate seat that will be up for election following the death of Sen. John McCain.

Mr. Arpaio said a piece written by Times editorial board member Michelle Cottle in August may have dented those chances by recounting his long and controversial career as a sheriff, including his use of tent jails, making inmates wear pink underwear, and allowing a high number of inmate suicides…

Smothered: Six Democratic Scandals That The Elite News Media Suffocated With A Pillow This Cycle – Matt Vespa

In the Trump era, liberal media bias is worse than ever. So, it shouldn’t shock us that the Media Research Center’s Newsbusters division probably has carpal tunnel syndrome from jotting down all the insanity that is transpiring across CNN, MSNBC, and the Big Three (CBS, NBC, and ABC).

In this media bubble, Trump colluded with the Russians to win an election; he’s a tax cheat, a serial sexual abuser, and the most corrupt politician since Henry Clay and the corrupt bargain of 1824.

Outside of this glass case of emotion, the economy is growing at four percent. There are more jobs than job seekers, and job openings are at a whopping 7.1 million. Three million jobs have been created, new trade deals with Mexico and Canada are in motion, the Trump tax cuts have formed a solid base for growth, and more than three million working-class families have received bonuses of $1,000 or more.

Oh, and consumer and small business confidence have reached 18-year highs…

An embattled Democratic mayor from Massachusetts, who was arrested last week on suspicion of fraud and tax charges, is refusing to step down, calling his arrest “politically motivated” hours before city councilors pushed back a debate on how to handle the matter.

“I am presumed innocent until proven otherwise,” Mayor Jasiel Correia told reporters at a press conference at Fall River’s City Hall. “I will not allow political enemies to remove me from office.”

He said the attack began shortly after assuming office because he was “challenging the norms” in the town. “Not arrogantly, not selfishly, but humbly, I will continue to every day show how hard working your mayor is, and I will not resign,” he continued…

Atlanta To Pay Out $1.2 Million To Christian Fire Chief After Violating His First Amendment Rights – Daily Wire

Former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran was terminated from his position after writing a devotional book in his off-time which briefly discusses Biblical views on sex and marriage.

After a December 2017 ruling found that the city discriminated against Mr. Cochran and violated his First Amendment rights by firing him for expressing Christian views with which they disagree, the city council on Monday agreed to pay out $1.2 million to the former chief for damages and attorneys’ fees, reports Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the organization which represented Mr. Cochran.

“The government can’t force its employees to get its permission before they engage in free speech. It also can’t fire them for exercising that First Amendment freedom, causing them to lose both their freedom and their livelihoods,” said ADF Senior Counsel Kevin Theriot.

Theriot said he hopes the pay-out “will serve as a deterrent to any government that would trample upon the constitutionally protected freedoms of its public servants.”…

Women Pissed At Democrat Heidi Heitkamp For Identying Them As Sexual Assault Survivors In Campaign Ad – Washington Times

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp is trying to recover from her vote against President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee by standing up for victims of sexual assault, but the North Dakota Democrat’s efforts backfired Tuesday when she had to apologize for identifying victims without their permission in a recent campaign ad.

Some of the women her ad identified say they weren’t even victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Others say they don’t support her campaign.

Ms. Heitkamp admitted the bungle in a statement Tuesday, blaming victim advocates for feeding her wrong information.

“I deeply regret this mistake and we are in the process of issuing a retraction, personally apologizing to each of the people impacted by this and taking the necessary steps to ensure this never happens again,” she said.

It was yet another stumble for Ms. Heitkamp, who has seen her poll numbers tank…

U.S. Tops World Economic Forum’s ‘Global Competitiveness Report’ For First Time In A Decade – Washington Times

Organizers of the annual Davos conference ranked the United States first in their ranking of the world’s most competitive economies for the first time in a decade Wednesday, saying the No. 1 spot reflects a new methodology and long-term factors more than recent policies of the Trump administration.

The World Economic Forum said its “Global Competitiveness Report” is based on nearly 100 separate factors in a dozen categories that have been reworked slightly to better reflect today’s rapidly changing, increasingly digitized world economy.

The U.S. is followed by Singapore, Germany, Switzerland and Japan in the top five spots among the 140 economies considered. In nearly 40 years of the group’s rankings on competitiveness, the U.S. previously earned top honors in 2008. Switzerland was No. 1 last year.

Nearly all of the top 30 performers are developed economies in Asia and Europe, along with Israel at 20, the United Arab Emirates at 27, China at 28 and Qatar at 30…

Manufacturing Continues To Boom In America, Defying Gloomy Tariff Predictions – Breitbart
.

.
The American manufacturing sector continued to add jobs in August, defying predictions that the Trump administration’s steel and aluminum tariffs would cost jobs in metals-using industries.

There were 488,000 job openings in manufacturing in August, up from 416 a year ago, the Department of Labor said Tuesday. Two years ago, before President Trump took office, there were just 337,000 manufacturing job vacancies in August.

In durable goods, which is the category that includes most metals-using industry, there were 286,000 openings. That’s up from 229,000 a year ago. Two years ago, there were just 200,000. Durable goods openings have been higher every month than they were when the metals tariffs were first announced in late March…

CDC Confirms 62 Cases Of Polio-Like Illness Across U.S. – The Hill

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating 127 suspected cases of a polio-like condition that mostly affects children. The CDC said that 62 of those cases have been confirmed in 22 states in 2018.

Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) is a rare but serious condition that can cause paralysis, drawing comparisons to polio. AFM primarily impacts the nervous system and weakens muscles.

There isn’t a cure for AFM and the CDC does not yet know its long-term impacts. The causes of the condition aren’t clear, but the CDC said it could be caused by other viruses, environmental toxins and genetic history.

“We are actually looking at everything. We are looking beyond the normal infectious diseases that can cause this,” said Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.

AFM has been on the rise in the U.S. since 2014, but is still rare…

Judge Approves Elon Musk’s Settlement With SEC, Stock Surges – Zero Hedge

On Tuesday, United States Judge Alison J. Nathan signed off on the proposed settlement between the Securities and Exchange Commission, Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk. This settlement puts to rest the SEC’s action against Musk regarding his now infamous (and allegedly fraudulent) Tweet, where he claimed that he had “funding secured” to take Tesla private at $420 per share.

The settlement approval came despite Elon Musk publicly mocking the Securities and Exchange Commission to his 22 million Twitter followers just 12 days ago, labeling it the “Shortseller Enrichment Commission”.

Despite Musk’s all too public mockery of the regulator, both the SEC and Musk filed letters with the court last Thursday making the case for why the settlement should be approved…

Washington Archdiocese Publicly Names 31 ‘Credibly Accused’ Predator Priests – Daily Caller

The Archdiocese of Washington, to foster “transparency and accountability,” released a list Monday of 31 clergy members “credibly accused” of sexually abusing minors since 1948.

Cardinal Donald Wuerl, whose resignation as archbishop of Washington was accepted Friday amid mounting furor over his alleged complicity in sexual abuse cover-ups, released the list in an effort to help the archdiocese heal from wounds of abuse and distrust.

Of the clergy members named, none are still active in ministry, 28 were archdiocesan priests, three were priests of independent religious orders, 13 were never arrested and 14 are still alive, according to The Washington Post.

Former cardinal Theodore McCarrick was not included on the list because he was not a priest of the archdiocese when he allegedly committed acts of abuse.

Wuerl called the list’s release “a necessary step toward full transparency and accountability and the process of healing,”…

Judge Dismisses Stormy Daniels Defamation Lawsuit Against President Trump, Orders Her To Pay His Legal Fees – Daily Caller

The federal judge presiding over porn star Stormy Daniel’s defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump dismissed the case on Monday afternoon. The lawsuit centered on a tweet from the president where he claimed that the man Daniels‘ alleges threatened her to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump was “nonexistent.”

Judge S. James Otero ruled the president’s tweet was not defamation, but “rhetorical hyperbole,” and dismissed the case.

Trump’s lawyer, Charles J. Harder, Esq. of Harder LLP, released a statement saying, “United States District Judge S. James Otero issued an order and ruling today dismissing Stormy Daniels’ defamation lawsuit against President Trump. The ruling also states that the President is entitled to an award of his attorney’s fees against Stormy Daniels.”

It also said, “No amount of spin or commentary by Stormy Daniels or her lawyer, Mr. Avenatti, can truthfully characterize today’s ruling in any way other than total victory for President Trump and total defeat for Stormy Daniels.”…

President And First Lady Visit Hurricane-Ravaged Florida – UPI

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump witnessed first-hand Monday the impact of Hurricane Michael on northwest Florida. The pair landed in Panama City around 11 a.m. and were given a tour of the area by Florida Gov. Rick Scott. Trump praised Scott and said the chief federal priority is food, electricity and safety for residents.

Panama City was the first stop for the Trumps on the tour Monday of storm-ravaged regions in the Southeast. They were scheduled to fly to Georgia after leaving Florida. Both states were hit hard by Michael, which arrived last week as a Category 4 hurricane.

Federal Emergency Management director Brock Long visited several towns along Florida’s Panhandle and said the destruction is the worst he’s ever seen.

The storm-related death toll rose to 19 Monday, but could climb. In one of the hardest hit areas, Mexico City, backhoes and other tractors dug through crushed buildings to look for 250 missing residents…

In what might be the most adorable mistake ever by a government worker, a staffer at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia, accidentally invited people to a “meeting” by emailing a photo of a tabby cat wearing pajamas.

Closing In On Clinton-Justice Russia Collusion Conspiracy As Middleman Pleads The Fifth – Washington Times

Congressional Republicans are collecting evidence to show an extensive, election year, anti-Trump conspiracy between Hillary Clinton operatives such as Fusion GPS and Barack Obama appointees at the Justice Department and the FBI.

The investigation took a new turn last week. Fusion co-founder Glenn Simpson decided to invoke the Fifth Amendment rather than testify under subpoena before a special House Republican task force.

The Republicans see Mr. Simpson as the key middleman between Justice and the Clinton campaign. He orchestrated the Democrat-financed dossier on which the FBI built its early investigation of candidate Donald Trump. Republicans believe the unproven dossier, with its charge of extensive Trump-Russia collusion, is a sham perpetrated by Democrats and the press.

“Glenn Simpson was an absolutely essential figure in launching the entire Russia collusion hoax,” a Republican congressional staffer told The Washington Times…

Elizabeth Warren’s DNA Test Proves She Was Lying – David Harsanyi
.

.
Why did Sen. Elizabeth Warren spend all these years claiming to be a Native American?

One plausible answer might be that her family had lied to her, or were also misled about their heritage, and that Warren truly believed she was Cherokee. This happens relatively often, I suppose. Then again, few people exhibit as much certitude, and gain as many benefits, over a claim that’s so obscure and unverifiable.

The second is that Warren herself lied or exaggerated her heritage, knowing full well that her contention of Cherokee ancestry was likely nothing more than lore, then latched on to this negligible ancestry to gain traction in an academic field that was searching for candidates of specific races…

‘Make America Date Again’: Pro-Trump Dating App Launches – Daily Wire

Being a Trump supporter is not always easy – especially during family holidays.

But being a MAGA-er can also hit you right where it hurts: Your love life. Dating in a big liberal city can be demoralizing, sometimes even hostile, when you’re a fan of The Donald. And if you’re looking for love on a dating app, you can expect a wave of rejection if you talk openly about your political views. In fact, on many dating apps, “Trump supporters swipe left” is a common disclaimer.

How hard is it? Politico reported an anecdote from a beleaguered 31-year-old female administration official who recounted one horror story.

“You do the small talk thing, and you have a very good conversation, and then they might say, ‘You didn’t vote for Trump, right?’” she says. “As soon as I say, ‘Of course I did,’ it just devolves into all-caps ‘HOW COULD YOU BE SUCH A RACIST AND A BIGOT?’…
