Michelle Malkin lays into the media for rushing to blame the right, again
Frankly, there really is no question if the president has the authority to restrict immigration for national security. The applicable federal law is crystal clear. The “judge”who blocked this order is placing his opinions and feelings above his duty as a judge.
Feminism, we are told, is about empowering women. Empowering women to make their own choices, control their own bodies, run their own lives. In short then, feminists will tell you that women NEED feminism because of sexism and inequality. That is the message and rhetoric of Feminists, but the truth is quite different. In truth, feminism is about pushing leftism, and embittering, and thus controlling women, thus empowering feminists, and, again, furthering leftist ideology.
Again, if you might be thinking I am way off base here, consider how Feminists walk the walk on “empowering women” to make any choice they wish. Much like the self-appointed civil rights leadership seeks to keep Blacks from thinking for themselves, and leaving the Plantation of Liberal Ideology, feminist leaders seek to keep women “in their place” which, of course is bitter angry, and indoctrinated into the Left’s definition of feminism.
If a woman is pro-abortion, she is empowered. If she dares be pro-life, however, she cannot really be a woman.
If a women speaks “truth to power” on equality, and shrieks constantly about the evil Patriarchy, and sees every male glance or flirt as sexism, she is a member in good standing with feminists. Let a woman speak out and say she likes being attractive to men, or that she sees nothing evil about being flirted with, or complimented by a man, and she is a disgrace.
If a woman rails against traditional gender roles, and marriage (which any good feminist will tell you is rape), and stay at home moms, she is a warrior for social justice. But a woman who defends typical gender roles, and marriage, and raising her kids by actually raising them, then she is called a fool and a traitor to feminism.
If a woman uses her voice to bash the NRA, and gun owners, then she is a valued voice to the Left. But a woman who defends gun ownership, concealed carry, and actually trains with and carries a gun herself, she is bashed. Never mind that such a woman IS the true definition of what feminism ought to be. Such a woman is thinking for herself, and speaking out, and is actually walking the walk. But to feminists, she is a cancer, and must be ostracized and belittled.
In short, being a good feminist means being a woman who toes the lines correctly, and only makes life choices that the Left finds valuable. Consider a few more examples.
A woman should be free to control her own body, unless she wishes to control her own medical insurance and care. Or unless she chooses to pose for pictures men will enjoy, of course. Then she is serving the Patriarchy and betraying women somehow.
A woman must NEVER enjoy being attractive, and any men must never ever look at a woman, or direct any compliment towards a woman’s looks. Somehow noticing that an actress, or news anchor is attractive demeans her intellect somehow. Funny, I never knew that only unattractive people can be smart. This of course, goes against nature. Men are, by definition attracted to women, and vice-versa. Trying to change that dynamic is as likely to succeed as trying to pet a wolverine is.
Women must use their voices to help further certain causes, unless those causes are against leftism of course. This is why women like Michelle Malkin, and Stacy Dash and S.E. Cupp, or Katie Pavlich are so savaged by the Left. They do not “know their place”. Odd isn’t it? There is likely no greater form of sexism than feminism. Especially towards very attractive women. And yes, I find the four women I named very attractive, I also find them intelligent and fascinating and admirable. See, you CAN indeed appreciate a woman’s mind, ideals, and looks. Well, unless you are a feminist that is. After all, that whole equality thing is only for women who follow the feminist rules.
Ooouuuch. My sides are still aching after last week’s comical announcement by GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush that he had snagged the coveted endorsement of notorious electoral reject Eric Cantor, the former House majority leader kicked to the curb by disgusted voters in Virginia’s 2014 primary election.
Newsflash to GOP elites: Getting Cantor’s support is not like landing a prized marlin. It’s like hooking one of those hideous bottom-feeding blobfish named the world’s ugliest creature.
Inside the Beltway, The Washington Post reported, “Cantor remains well-liked and respected in the Virginia business community and among the Republican donor class in the commonwealth.”
But outside the Beltway, the failed Republican revolutionary-turned-Wall Street influence-peddler is a snortle-inducing spectacle on both sides of the political aisle.
In Cantor’s endorsement statement Thursday, he praised Bush as a “true conservative leader” who “can re-energize our nation and recapture our greatness.” That’s empty babble coming from the epitome of an out-of-touch, self-aggrandizing, revolving-door ruling class.
BushCantor share the same smug condescension toward Americans who believe in strict immigration enforcement and putting American workers first. Cantor fecklessly lied to voters during the campaign season about his position(s). He showered his district with anti-illegal immigration flyers that fraudulently portrayed him as standing up to President Obama on amnesty. But on Capitol Hill, he championed the DREAM Act for illegal alien students, huge H-1B visa increases to quench Big Tech’s appetite for cheap foreign tech workers, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce/AFL-CIO’s collaboration on massive immigration expansions.
While Cantor lip-synced to the limited-government tea party message, he boogied in backrooms with his pork-barrel pals. He assailed Obama’s bloated stimulus and then celebrated the high-speed rail boondoggles in his state funded by it. As a celebrated “young gun” on the right, Cantor preached fiscal responsibility, while blowing nearly $170,000 on fancy steakhouse dinners across the country in his last year in office.
Like Bush (and Gang of Eight cheerleader Sen. Marco Rubio), Cantor was the beneficiary of – and water carrier for – generous Silicon Valley and Big Business contributors. Cantor’s biggest donors included New York financial conglomerates the Blackstone Group ($65,500) and Goldman Sachs ($26,000), and California tech company Oracle ($25,000).
By contrast, the biggest donors to Cantor’s successful challenger, libertarian economics professor Dave Brat, were Virginia couple Gerry and Karen Baugh of Baugh Auto Body ($5,400), Michigan writer and artist Louis McAlpin ($5,200), and retired Virginia couple Martha and Kenneth Schwenzer ($5,200).
One outside group, the American Chemistry Council, spent a whopping $300,000 on soft-money ads to protect Cantor – an amount that exceeded Brat’s entire campaign funding.
Likewise, while Bush fashions himself a champion of the American worker, he pompously pushes the Gang of Eight amnesty as the only “adult” plan in the room. While he poses as a champion of American parents, students and “school choice,” he trashes activist moms and zealously crusades for failed Fed Ed rackets and data-mining schemes masquerading as “higher standards.” And while he stumps for the ordinary American’s “right to rise” through conservative principles, he has parlayed his political career into a multimillion-dollar collection basket from liberal special interests and corporate cronies who fund his Common Core advocacy – including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the GE Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Intel and Pearson Education.
BushCantor seem to think everyone else will suffer from Sudden Election Amnesia Syndrome and grant big-spending, open-borders Republicans blanket amnesty for their betrayals. But what Brat told voters in Virginia about Cantor goes for voters nationwide as Bush flounders. “Eric Cantor doesn’t represent you,” Brat bluntly warned. “He represents large corporations seeking a never-ending supply of cheap foreign labor. He doesn’t care about how this will affect your livelihood, your schools, your tax bills or your kids’ chances of finding a job.”
The disgraced seven-term representative from Virginia’s affluent 7th district, who turned his back on grassroots constituents in favor of cashing in on power, now promises to work closely with Bush “as they chart a course to the White House.”
Here’s to Cantor’s success in helping Jeb navigate his same path to loserdom. Bon voyage!
I have had enough of smug liberal elites wrapped in their “Celebrate Diversity” banners tearing down minority conservatives.
Look in the mirror, media and academia bigots. Your own reflexive racism and divisive rhetoric are poisoning public discourse. There’s nothing “progressive” about attacking the children and grandchildren of immigrants who proudly embrace an American identity.
We are not “self-hating.” You just hate what we believe.
The most recent grenade tossed by the jack-booted Enforcers of Ethnic Authenticity came from The Washington Post this week. The Beltway fish-wrapper hyped a 2,100-word investigation of GOP Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal with a condescending quote from Professor G. Pearson Cross, who sneered: “There’s not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal.”
Has pallid Professor Cross invented an ambient diagnostic test to measure sufficiently acceptable levels of ethnicity?
The Post quoted a grand total of one disgruntled Democratic donor who railed against Jindal for “forgetting” his “heritage” and his “roots.” But that was more than enough for the apartheid-lite adherents to heed the dog whistle immediately. The Post’s splashy attack on Jindal’s assimilationist ethic spawned a vile Twitter hashtag game: #BobbyJindalIsSoWhite.
Left-wing racists mocked his skin color, his kids and his decision to change his name from “Piyush” to “Bobby.” A New York Times digital editor, Shreeya Sinha, gleefully linked to a BBC compilation of “The best of #BobbyJindalisSoWhite.” NBC News gloated over tweets from liberal Indian-Americans who mocked the accomplished governor, Rhodes scholar and father of three as a “Jindian.”
Great piece, go read it all. Michelle lays bare the bigotry, and hatred of the Left
