*AUDIO* Mark Steyn: Climate Change, Cat Music And LGBT Lawsuits

Did someone call for a doctor?

Stacy McCain is looking at an ugly thing, a thing he calls A Psychosis Called ‘Equality’” A psychosis the manifests itself in deplorable outbursts of uncontrollable rage, and intolerance towards anyone that dares hold a differing view. Stacey has some of the Tweets from someone just like that

The fanatical conceptions of ideologues inspire madness. Last night, a certain devotee of the “Free Kate” crusade went on a Twitter spree, a few samples of which I share for your amusement:

Oh, look: An advocate of “equality” https://twitter.com/JessicaNaomiNet/status/346498179887403008 … hurling a familiar epithet at @michellemalkin — you stay classy, progressives!

Oh, look: The advocate of “equality” https://twitter.com/JessicaNaomiNet/status/346469548117086208 … says she’s being spammed by “ChristoFascists”!

Oh, look: The advocate of “equality” https://twitter.com/JessicaNaomiNet/status/346445946105765889 … says she’s a victim of “heterosupremacist tyrannical theocrats”!

Tolerance: A Progressive Value: https://twitter.com/JessicaNaomiNet/status/346498050535075840 … Take that, you heterosupremacist gay basher Jesus freaks!

According to , if you’re against toilet-stall sex with 14-year-olds https://twitter.com/JessicaNaomiNet/status/346470550417317890 … you’re a hater!

Of course, this @Jessica Equality  Naomi nut is not who they claim to be, as Stacy notes
And imagine the chagrin of “Jessica Naomi’s” LGBT friends when they discover that, in fact, “Jessica Naomi” is a 48-year-old straight guy who’s just really into watching teenage lesbians on video.
Stacy has more on the enraged Tweets of Jessica the 48-year-old Lesbian film critic, and the hatred comes through for all to see. Now, you might be asking yourself what is wrong with this individual. Maybe they had a bad childhood, or maybe they fell out of the Tree of Eternal Bitterness hitting every branch on the way down. But I have a different answer. For years I have been diagnosing Liberal Maladies, and I often use them here on this blog. Offendeditis (a desperate yearning to be constantly offended), GODitis (a severe allergic reaction to any mention of God, Christmas, Santa Claus, the Bible, Jesus, Christmas Trees, or anything else that might have anything to do with Christianity), and Eternal Bitterness Syndrome (A pervasive state of bitterness, and anger, see Janeane Garafalo for a classic case study in EBS). There are many more, and in studying Jessica Whats His Face’s Tweets, I think I have discovered yet another Liberal Malady. Equality Obsession Syndrome. This one causes the sufferer to agonize over the lack of “equality” in the world, and to twist themselves into knots because they feel, perpetually it would seem, that they, and everyone like them, have been ruthlessly targeted for persecution and discrimination.
It also seems this condition causes its victim to have a perverse desire to excuse the actions of everyone who is “like them”. In this case an 18-year-old girl who had sex with a 14 year-old-girl is not a criminal who broke laws. Instead she is a victim of inequality simply because she is “like” Jessica Loves Lesbo Films. Reality would dictate that this 18-year-old girl is simply facing the same consequences that many 18-year-old boys have faced, in other words she is being treated EQUALLY, but EOS causes reality to fade away I guess. In the end those afflicted with EOS do not really want equality at all. They want a Get Out of Jail Free Card no matter what they do. In other words what they seek is INEQUALITY, as long as they, and those like them benefit.

Because only CERTAIN political causes are political to the Left

RS McCain looks at how the Left looks at “political” causes

You see, not all “political causes” are created equal:

After her daughter’s eighth grade math teacher wore an anti-gay marriage pin to school, Cynthia Deford, a gay parent in Port Angeles, Washington, started an online campaign to ban teachers from promoting political causes in the classroom.
The Steven’s Middle School teacher, who has remained unnamed, wore a button to class in the days before the Nov. 6 election that stated “No on 74: one man + one woman = marriage,” according to Deford. The political message refers to Washington’s Referendum 74, which legalized gay marriage in the state, passing with 52 percent of the vote.
Although Port Angeles School District Superintendent Jane Pryne told the Peninsula Daily News that the issue has been addressed, and the school district already has policy regarding politics in the classroom in place, Deford wants more to be done; she is calling for an official apology and sensitivity training for teachers.
“It just shocked me that it happened here,” Deford told the Peninsula Daily News.
In her online petition on SignOn.org, Deford wrote that her daughter came home upset after seeing a teacher — who she once thought highly of — wear such a discriminatory button in class.

She wants to “ban teachers from promoting political causes in the classroom,” but tolerance toward homosexuality . . . Well, that’s notpolitical. That’s just the way things are. Unless you question “the way things are,” and then you’re evil.

So the agenda now is compulsory approval. Everyone must pledge allegiance to the Rainbow Flag, and once you are forbidden to disapprove of homosexuality, logically, your refusal to participate in gay sex will be classified as an unacceptable form of “discrimination.”

This isn’t about “equality” or “liberation.” No, it’s about homo hegemony, as the fanatics seek to secure a privileged and superior status for themselves and their preferences. That’s not disco music you hear, it’s the sound of hobnailed boots marching over broken glass.

Tolerance gradually reveals itself as totalitarianism, and it’s amazing that people acquiesce to such bullying. According to a recent Gallup survey, 3.4 percent of Americans identify themselves as “LGBT,” to use the de rigeur acronym. Why should 96.6 percent be compelled to kowtow to the sensibilities of the 3.4 percent?

The most important part, to me anyway, is that last paragraph, especially these words Tolerance gradually reveals itself as totalitarianism. Truer words have never been uttered, tolerance, and its bastard cousins, inclusion and sensitivity are used by the Left not to create a more forgiving atmosphere, or to urge folks to be more polite. Instead these words have been rebranded by the Left, to have completely different meanings than they traditionally have. Tolerance is not tolerance anymore, or acceptance, it is now used as a weapon to silence ideological beliefs the Left finds distasteful. Sensitivity has become a tool to force Liberalism on those that dare holds views that are not Liberal. Inclusion? HA! That is a word used to “include” only certain viewpoints, all others are demonized, ostracized and most certainly excluded from debate.

For example, take what McCain writes above. there is nothing hateful, or bigoted in his words, but, since he makes solid points that might persuade people he is correct, the Left must either silence his message or assassinate his character. And since The Other McCain will never stop expressing his views, or defending his principles, he must be discredited so that no one listens to anything he says. Further, look at what I wrote here, nothing Homophobic there. In fact I do not have issue with Gay marriage, or with Gay adoption, or with civil unions. But, that will not matter, any Leftist reading my words will attempt to paint me as an evil homophobe, because only certain views are to be tolerated by the “tolerant Left”!

A new blog you need to know about

William Jacobson has launched College Insurrection, and it looks to be a fine venture. Colleges ought to be bastions of liberty, this new blog is dedicated to reclaiming liberty from the Leftist slant on too many campuses. Go check it out! Here is a sample post about Chick-fil-A boycotts on campuses

Would love to get reports from college students at to whether kicking Chick-fil-A off campus (like happened at Davidson) is gaining traction, or just another waste of hot air.

College students around the country do not want their waffle fries served on campus from a company they perceive as being against LGBT rights.

At least 30 colleges and universities have had students start petitions to remove the fast food chain Chick-fil-A from their campus, and many of the protests are popping up in states considered to be relatively conservative.

There are more than 500 signatures on a petition to close the Chick-fil-A at Appalachian State University, in Boone, N.C. — a state which recently voted to amend its constitution to prohibit same-sex marriages. Students and faculty members at the University of Southern Mississippi are collecting signatures to have the Chick-fil-A on their campus removed….

Only 28 percent of college students consider themselves “liberal,” but more than 70 percent say they support same-sex marriage rights, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The difference between education and indoctrination

Anyone who listens to the Left knows how they value “education”. they love public schools, and mandatory kindergarten, and how they would love to make K-4, K-3, etc. mandatory as well. Why? well, there is more than one answer you would get if you asked a Leftist why they think children benefit by more “education”. They will tell you it is critical for socialization, and development, and yes, “education” of course.

Now, you will note that I have placed the word education, in parenthesis. Why? Well, because the Left defines education, or at least what the goal of education quite differently than most folks do. To most of us math, writing, vocabulary, history, science, and civics are among the things schools should teach children. Most of us would also include teaching some type of sex education, as long as the curriculum is age appropriate, and as long as it does not teach values, that ought to be taught by parents, and not by schools.

The Left, however, prefers using education to indoctrinate, rather than educate. And face it, think of all the indoctrination that can be done if our children are in public education from age 2, until, say 22, if you include college. And think about this. It is the Left that is pushing to make a college education, “free” isn’t it? Twenty years are a long time isn’t it? Think of how much education indoctrination can take place in those two decades. Think of a person, age 22. Think of that person, if they have been “educated by the State, through public education. It is likely that their attitudes towards politics, religion, sex, relationships, Western culture, American history, etc. will closely resemble the Left’s ideology. After all, it is the Left that has a vested interest in  forcing every child to go through those two decades of “education”.

Now I am sure that many reading the preceding thoughts will scoff, and say these assertions are inane, and misguided. For those, I offer an example via Donald Douglas

This was in the news when the legislature authorized teaching homosexual studies some time back.

And now at LAT, California schools scrambling to add lessons on LGBT Americans.”

If this were being introduced when kids are in, say, 5th or 6th grade, I personally wouldn’t have an issue with it for my own kids. But as it is, kindergarten or 1st grade, and so on? God, that’s almost obscene in its assumptions. It’s understandable why parents would object. I recently asked my 10-year-old if he knew what homosexuality was. He didn’t have a clue, so I explained it to him. He didn’t seem to care that much about it, but the point is I’d prefer it was my wife and I talking about these things with him, especially in the moral context. I would not teach my child that all family structures are equal, for example. My position is that the traditional household with one father and one mother is the most healthy and prosperous for children. Schools will teach kids that all alternative family arrangements are equally valid, and that’s a radical curriculum.

In any case, from the article:

At Wonderland Avenue Elementary School in Laurel Canyon, there are lesson plans on diverse families — including those with two mommies or daddies — books on homosexual authors in the library and a principal who is openly gay.

But even at this school, teachers and administrators are flummoxed about how to carry out a new law requiring California public schools to teach all students — from kindergartners to 12th graders — about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans in history classes.

“At this point, I wouldn’t even know where to begin,” Principal Don Wilson said.

Educators across the state don’t have much time to figure it out. In January, they’re expected to begin teaching about LGBT Americans under California’s landmark law, the first of its kind in the nation.

The law has sparked confusion about what, exactly, is supposed to be taught. Will fourth-graders learn that some of the Gold Rush miners were gay and helped build San Francisco? Will students be taught about the “two-spirited people” tradition among some Native Americans, as one gay historian mused?

“I’m not sure how we plug it into the curriculum at the grade school level, if at all,” said Paul Boneberg, executive director at the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco.

School districts will have little help in navigating this sensitive and controversial change, which has already prompted some parents to pull their children out of public schools.

Really? Teaching kids that young about Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans-gender people in history? What legitimate purpose is served by this? Certainly, any significant historical figure ought to be included in history, but any teaching about GLBT ought not to be pushed on to small children. Two words age appropriate.

Think of it like this. I have studied the War Between the States for decades now, I started studying it at the age of nine, so, 37 years. I give historical talks, and presentations on battles, leaders, etc. But, I would certainly not delve into the orientation of, say Jefferson Davis, or U.S. Grant unless that were of some particular importance. And I would not talk about that to very small children. Again AGE APPROPRIATE!

The valid purpose of education, is enlightenment, not indoctrination. This is why I give historical talks in a different manner than when I engage in debates on the war. My goal is to educate, to give facts, and let the listener develop their own opinion. The Left, on the other hand wishes to shape opinions, they wish to indoctrinate. They wish to “educate” to further their agenda, and thinkers are the last thing they wish to turn out of school. And make no mistake, history, is their favorite target.

For all their talk of open-mindedness, and education, and tolerance, the Left believes in none of those ideals. The Left realizes that educated, open-minded people will never embrace Marxism, in any form. Indoctrinated, closed-minded people though, well…………..

How about we just teach history as it happened instead?

Variation of the United States (USA) flag, wit...

Yesterday, I was down in Corsicana, Texas, at Navarro College, for the opening of their new Civil War, and Western art museum. I had a chance to talk to two history teachers who are fed up with PC in history classes. This story, from American Perspective, got me thinking about a question. Why can’t we just teach kids about ALL the relevant historical figures? Is that not a better idea than bringing bean counting into it?

The California Legislature could soon pass a bill that would require school textbooks and teachers to incorporate information on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans into their curriculum.
The Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful Education Act, or SB48, which mimics a bill previously vetoed by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, made it one step closer to becoming law Tuesday after being approved by the state’s Senate Judiciary Committee.
The bill, introduced by state Sen. Mark Leno, could have a nationwide impact if passed because California is such a big buyer of textbooks that publishers often incorporate the state’s standards into books distributed to other states.
Supporters say that’s a good thing because it will help prevent gay students from being harassed or bullied by their classmates.
But critics say SB48 is just an attempt to brainwash students into becoming pro-gay political activists and ensure that government, not parents, has the final word on teaching kids about moral values.

Now, I am jot familiar enough with this bill to pass judgement. However, I do know that similar tactics have been used to indoctrinate, rather than educate students. Frankly, I doubt any worthwhile parent minds their child learning about historical figures that are or were Gay. If they are a significant historical figure, it would be wrong to exclude them. But, again, I know enough about the Left to know they often use bills such as this to further their agenda.
