Hacked: TV Station’s Emergency Alert System Warns That ‘Bodies Of The Dead Are Rising From Their Graves’ – The Blaze

Television viewers in several Montana counties had to be baffled when an emergency alert interrupted the “Steve Wilkos Show” to report that the zombie apocalypse had begun – and after millions of Americans had watched AMC’s “The Walking Dead” just the night before.

“Civil authorities in your area have reported that the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living,” the emergency alert calmly stated. “Do not attempt to approach or apprehend these bodies as they are considered very dangerous.”

The somewhat humorous – and clearly fake – alert was promptly yanked from the air and KRTV issued an apology on air and online for the mix-up.

Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that “dead bodies are rising from their graves” in several Montana counties.

This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency.

Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.

The Great Falls Tribune reports at least four people called the police to see if the hoax was true following the alert.

As Gawker observes, we don’t know who is responsible for the hack, how they did it or why. If nothing else, rest easy knowing the zombie apocalypse has been averted for at least one more day.

Obama Campaign Website ‘Hacked’: ‘Commy Obama’ Invites Supporters To ‘Anti-Government’ Events

Obama Campaign Website ‘Hacked’: ‘Commy Obama’ Invites Supporters To ‘Anti-Government’ Events – The Blaze

The Obama campaign website along with its iPhone applications were hacked Tuesday. Hackers reportedly invited Obama supporters to two fake anti-government events titled “Rules of Politics,“ hosted by one ”Commy Obama.”

The Washington Examiner first reported on the breach and included details of the fabricated campaign event:

“1. Politicians and other public servants lie,” read the event description provided on the Obama campaign website. (Full screenshot here.) “2. Politicians tell you what you want to hear and offer to provide things for ‘free’ to get votes. 3. When government buys, the people pay.”

The 430-word message lists 21 total anti-government criticisms, none of which target Obama, another politician or a particular political party by name.

The twenty-first note quotes the late Adrian Pierce Rogers, a Southern Baptist preacher who served two terms as president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1979 to 1988.

“‘You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom,’” the author writes, quoting one of Rogers’ more famous sermons. “‘When half of the people get an idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.’”

The Obama campaign has since removed the events from its campaign calender and asserts the security of Obama’s website “has not been compromised.”

Doesn’t a hacking incident where your supporters are invited to an anti-government event under the name “Commy Obama” constitute being compromised?
