Tesla Allegedly Covered Up Drug Trafficking And Spied On Employees At The Gigafactory, Whistleblower Says – The Verge
.

.
A former member of Tesla’s in-house security team has told the Securities and Exchange Commission that the company silenced internal investigations into alleged criminal activity at the Gigafactory in Nevada, according to a summary of his formal complaint.

Those investigations focused on claims of massive theft and “substantial drug trafficking.” The complaint also includes allegations that Tesla spied on employees’ electronic devices. It’s the second known whistleblower complaint from a former Tesla employee filed with the SEC this summer.

Karl Hansen, the former employee, claims that Tesla was told in May by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Storey County Sheriff’s Office Task Force that “several Tesla employees may be participants in a narcotics trafficking ring…

Louisiana Attorney General Denies $600 Million To Citibank, Bank Of America Over Gun Control – Breitbart

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and the state’s Bond Commission denied $600 million to Citibank and Bank of America over the gun control stance adopted by both companies.

Citibank and Bank of America were both to be part of a road financing plan in the state, but were omitted from the financial plan after arbitrarily placing new gun controls on banking customers.

Louisiana Executive Division press secretary Ruth Wisher told Breitbart News that Landry and State Treasurer John Schroder have been working on the state’s response to corporate gun control “for some time.” Omitting them from the $600 million is part of that response.

On March 23, 2018, Breitbart News reported Citibank’s new gun control regulations, which require gun store customers to quit selling “high capacity” magazines in order to do business with the bank…

Remains Of Child Found At New Mexico ‘Jihadi’ Compound Are Confirmed To Be Missing Boy From Georgia – Daily Caller
.

.
Authorities confirmed on Thursday that the remains of a child found at a New Mexico “jihadi” compound are those of a missing Georgia boy. The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator confirmed that the remains were those of Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj, according to the Associated Press.

The FBI and Georgia police launched an investigation into Wahhaj, who was suspected of abducting his 4-year-old son, Abdul-Ghani, in December from Jonesboro, Georgia. He had told his wife that he wanted to perform a ritual on his son and then later took the child to a park, only to never return.

Wahhaj, 39, was one of five adults arrested last week for allegedly training 11 children at a compound north of Taos, New Mexico, to carry out school shootings…

The Weekly Standard’s Ties To Fusion GPS – Julie Kelly

In his online appeal for money after being fired this week, disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok credited an unlikely source to vouch for his victim status: The Weekly Standard.

At one time a leading conservative magazine, the Standard declared last month that Strzok’s plight was merely an “overwrought tale of bias” and the case against him is “just sound and fury.” The article brushed off Strzok’s actions as “several bad judgment calls” and blasted Congressional Republicans for continuing a criminal investigation into the now-unemployed G-man.

Strzok is following only 32 people on his newly-verified Twitter account. Bill Kristol, the editor-at-large of the Standard, is one of them.

So, what’s with the fanboying between the Standard – an allegedly serious publication dedicated to advancing conservative principles – and a corrupt government bureaucrat who embodies everything the conservative movement fought against for decades?…

American Couple Believing ‘Evil Is A Make-Believe Concept’ Bike Through ISIS Territory; Are Stabbed To Death By Muslim Terrorists – Daily Wire

A young American couple who took a year-long bike trip around the world, believing that evil was a make-believe concept, took a fatal route in Tajikistan near the Afghan border, where alleged ISIS terrorists stabbed them to death.

Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, 29, quit their jobs last year in order to make their trip. Austin was a vegan who worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Geoghegan, a vegetarian who worked in the Georgetown University admissions office.

Austin had a personal blog on which he wrote in June 2017, “I’ve grown tired of spending the best hours of my day in front of a glowing rectangle, of coloring the best years of my life in swaths of grey and beige. I’ve missed too many sunsets while my back was turned. Too many thunderstorms went unwatched, too many gentle breezes unnoticed.”

ISIS Member Who Applied For Refugee Status Has Been Arrested On Murder Charges In California – Daily Caller

A suspected Islamic State member wanted for murder in Iraq faces extradition after being arrested Wednesday by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force in California, where he applied for refugee status.

Federal authorities say that Omar Ameen, 45, is wanted for the June 21, 2014, murder of an Iraqi police officer from the town of Rawah in the Anbar province.

An Iraqi court alleges that Ameen and a group of ISIS fighters entered Rawah after the town was overtaken by the terrorist group. Ameen and other ISIS members drove to the home of the officer, Ihsan Abdulhafiz Jasim, and allegedly began firing at him. Ameen allegedly shot Jasim, who was lying on the ground, on behalf of ISIS.

According to an extradition document filed in federal court Wednesday, Ameen fled Rawah following the alleged crime and settled in Sacramento. Authorities say that Ameen’s family helped foster the Iraqi branch of al-Qaeda (AQI) in 2004…

‘Mystery Pooper’ Will Get More Than $100K From School District – New York Post

The “Pooperintendent of Schools” accused of repeatedly defecating on school property will receive more than $100,000 from his district in New Jersey until he resigns, according to a report.

Under a separation agreement, Thomas W. Tramaglini, the former Kenilworth Public Schools superintendent, will be paid his full salary through the end of September in addition to two months severance pay and $23,827 in unused vacation time, NJ.com reported.

Tramaglini, 42, was suspended with pay from his job in May following his arrest for allegedly defecating in public, lewdness and littering.

Jack Phillips, the Christian baker who prevailed at the U.S. Supreme Court after declining to create a custom wedding cake for a gay couple, filed a lawsuit in federal court late Tuesday suing the Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

Phillips and his attorneys at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) say the Commission has revived its campaign against him following June’s high court decision, singling Masterpiece Cakeshop out for disparate treatment on the basis of their religious beliefs.

July Retail Sales Rock, Productivity Soars Above Expectations, Manufacturing Businesses Booming – Breitbart

Buoyant consumer sentiment boosted retail sales more than expected in July, while bigger than expected productivity gains point toward lower inflation and possible wage gains.

Retail sales, which are the total receipts at stores that sell merchandise and related services to final consumers, rose 0.5 percent in July, according to data released by the Commerce Department Wednesday. Economists had expected sales to rise by just 0.1 percent. The sales numbers were so strong that they exceeded the top range of expectations of economists surveyed by Bloomberg.

Outside of auto and gas sales, retail sales grew an even stronger 0.6 percent.

Productivity, which has had very small gains or even retreated in recent years, rose 2.9 percent in the most recent quarter compared with the prior quarter. That topped expectations for gains of 2.5 percent and was far above the paltry 0.4 percent increase in the first quarter…

Trump-Backed Peter Stauber Wins GOP Primary For Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District – WCCO

Pete Stauber is the projected winner of the GOP primary race for Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District. Stauber defeated Harry Rob Welty for the chance to turn the northern Minnesota district red in the November election.

The race for the 8th District seat, which is currently held by retiring Democrat Rick Nolan, is widely considered to be a toss-up, and one of the best chances for Republicans to flip a seat in the House.

In June, President Donald Trump visited Duluth to hold a rally for Pete Stauber, a St. Louis County commissioner and retired Duluth police officer. Last month, Vice President Mike Pence also held a fundraiser for him.

Statewide turnout for the primary is expected to be high. Last week, the Secretary of State’s Office said that early voting was up nearly 200 percent from the 2016 general election…

Trump-Endorsed Kris Kobach Finally Declared Winner Of GOP Gubernatorial Primary In Kansas – Breitbart

Today – after the second day of counting where Kobach increased his lead by 345 votes – Colyer conceded the primary race to Kobach in, telling the media:

Trump Campaign Files Arbitration Claim Against Omarosa For Violating Nondisclosure Agreement – Washington Times

The Trump campaign filed a legal claim Tuesday against former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman over her new book, seeking damages for violating a written agreement not to disparage President Trump, while the president responded fiercely to her accusations of racism and called her a “dog.”

The campaign’s lawyers filed for arbitration against Ms. Manigault Newman with the American Arbitration Association in New York City to force her to abide by the 2016 agreement with the campaign, in which she was required to keep information about Mr. Trump and his family secret “during the term of your service and at all times thereafter.”

“President Trump is well known for giving people opportunities to advance in their careers and lives over the decades, but wrong is wrong, and a direct violation of an agreement must be addressed and the violator must be held accountable,” a campaign official said.

NFL Freezes Anthem Protest Policy Pending Negotiations With Players Union – Breitbart

The NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released a joint statement on Thursday night, vowing to put a hold on the new league rule requiring players on the field to stand for the playing of the national anthem.

The shocking development comes only hours after news leaked that the Miami Dolphins had added a category called “Proper Anthem Conduct,” to their player disciplinary document.

The apparent reversal also comes only one week after the NFLPA filed a grievance against the league, in which the union sought a “system arbitration” to prevent the league from giving individual teams from requiring players to stand for the anthem, or disciplining the for refusing to do so.

The statement claims that both the league and the players union are talking and working on a resolution…

GOP Lawmakers Grill Social Media Giants Over Censorship Of Conservatives – Daily Caller

Republican lawmakers are not giving up their crusade against Facebook, YouTube and Twitter over the alleged censorship of conservatives happening on these social media platforms. Republicans aren’t letting them off the hook so easily – and they shouldn’t.

On Tuesday, representatives from these social media companies testified at a House Judiciary Committee hearing to explain how their companies filter content from their users.

The hearing comes a just a few days after Facebook’s algorithms flagged the U.S. Declaration of Independence as a hate speech and blocked it from the site.

Facebook apologized for the censorship and also fixed the problem, but clearly there’s something very wrong with the algorithm if it’s identifying our founding documents as ‘hateful’ or ‘offensive’ in the first place.

Some members of congress are floating around the idea of turning these social media companies into public utilities if they don’t clean up their act…

Federal Agents Say Florida Man Posed As Housewife To Trick Men Into Sex Acts For Porn Site – Law & Crime

A Florida man allegedly pretended to be a housewife so he could trick other men to participate in sex acts that were secretly being recorded, and he uploaded the material to a porn site.

Bryan Deneumostier, 33, was arrested late Tuesday by federal agents, and charged with two counts of illegal interception of oral communication, and three counts of record-keeping violations, according to documents obtained by the Miami Herald.

This defendant ran the now-defunct “StraightBoyz” website for four years, said officials with the Department of Homeland Security. The site allegedly hosted at least 600 videos. Footage purported to show straight men being tricked into sex acts, all while being blindfolded or wearing blacked-out goggles.

Gallup: Less Than 1% Of Americans Give A Damn About Russia Meddling In U.S. Elections – Zero Hedge

While ever-hope-filled expectations among the left are for a ‘blue wave’ in the Mid-term elections, we suspect things may not turn out quite as planned given the last week’s “crisis”.

Even before President Trump had set foot in Helsinki, the left and the media were banging the drums of war against “the thug” Putin and how he would trump Trump, and once the press conference furore was over, all hell broke loose as the left-leaning world attempted to out-signal one another’s virtue as to the “treasonous”, “surrender” that had occurred.

So much so – in fact – that the internet became ‘full’ of “Trump” and “Treason” chatter – more so even than when he joked in July 2016 about Russia having Hillary’s missing 30,000 emails.

Once again – the “Russia, Russia, Russia” cries drowned out any sane discussion of the end of cold war 2.0. There’s just one problem with the Democrats’ unending focus on Russia and the media’s constant collusion chatter: few Americans care…

These Are The Six Republicans Who Voted In Favor Of Carbon Taxes – Daily Caller

Three of the six Republicans lawmakers who voted Thursday against a House resolution opposing a carbon tax were from Florida and one of them is a prominent President Donald Trump supporter.

House Bill Funds $5 Billion For Wall, Adds ICE And Border Patrol Agents – Washington Examiner

A fiscal 2019 spending measure was introduced in the House on Wednesday that provides $5 billion for a southern border wall and additional funding for border security that aims to achieve “100 percent scanning” of the border within five years.

The Homeland Security appropriations subcommittee measure would fund more than 200 miles of “new physical barrier construction” along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The legislation also includes $223 million to add 375 additional border patrol agents above the Trump administration request, including 140 canine teams, that, according to the House Appropriations Committee, will “initiate a five-year strategy toward achieving 100 percent scanning on the southern border.”

The measure increases the budget for Immigration and Customs Enforcement by $328 million over fiscal 2018. Of that new funding, $78 million is allotted for the hiring of 400 additional ICE agents and support staff…

House GOP Pins 167 Democrats With ‘Abolish ICE’ Vote – Breitbart

GOP legislators wrapped the unpopular “Abolish ICE!” campaign around House Democrats on Wednesday, by forcing a floor vote where 167 Democrats abstained or voted against a resolution praising the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Democratic leaders protested and denounced the resolution, which was passed by 226 GOP votes. “This is the equivalent of fiddling while Rome is burning… It is a meaningless stunt,” said Democratic Rep. Ralph Nadler. “We have more important things to do.”

Democrats are under growing pressure from their progressive base to block ICE’s popular immigration reforms. But that is electoral poison, so Democratic leaders have been trying to shift attention back to higher priorities issues such as healthcare.

Only 18 Democrats voted for the GOP’s pro-enforcement resolution, while 34 Democrats voted against the resolution and 133 abstained by voting “present” in the hope of minimizing the blowback from ordinary voters or the progressive base…

Splitting Up California: State Supreme Court Takes Initiative Off November Ballot – San Francisco Chronicle

The state Supreme Court decided Wednesday that California will remain intact geographically, at least for now, while it decides whether the voters can consider a proposal to divide the Golden State into three new states.

The three-state initiative, Proposition 9, had gathered enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. Nine days after opponents filed suit, the court issued a unanimous order removing the measure from the ballot and ordering further legal arguments on whether it should be placed on another ballot in 2020 or struck down altogether.

The court said it usually allows ballot measures to go to the voters before considering constitutional challenges. But in this case, the six justices said, “significant questions regarding the proposition’s validity” and the “potential harm” of allowing a public vote before those questions are resolved “outweighs the potential harm in delaying the proposition to a future election.”…

The chair of the House Intelligence Committee accused the FBI and Department of Justice of stonewalling a sprawling investigation into claims the Trump campaign colluded with Russia with the hope of running out the clock until the November elections, when they anticipate Democrats will regain control of the House and dissolve an ongoing probe that has uncovered evidence U.S. officials sought to cripple Trump’s campaign.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R., Calif.), in a wide-ranging audio interview with his House colleague Rep. Sean Duffy (R., Wis.), accused top officials at the FBI and DOJ of “putting all their chips on the Republicans losing the House” so that their Democratic allies can “shut down” the longstanding Intelligence Committee probe, which has unearthed information disputing claims of collusion in recent months…

Democrat Hellhole Update: San Francisco Begins Registering Illegal Aliens To Vote – Daily Wire

The Department of Elections in San Francisco on Monday issued voter registration for illegal aliens to allow them to vote for members of the city’s Board of Education in the Nov. 6 election.

Becoming California’s first city to allow non-American citizens to vote in local elections, Supervisor Norman Yee said, “We want to give immigrants the right to vote.”

[For the record, “immigrants” are people who come to America through the legal process, while “illegal aliens” sneak into the country.]

In order to vote, the illegal aliens must live in the city, be at least 18 years old and be the “parents, legal guardians or caregivers of children under the age of 19 who also reside in San Francisco,” ABC-7 reported.

“As a parent myself and a former member of the SF Board of Education it is critical that the voices of all parents are at the table particularly those that have historically been denied a voice in the process,” said Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer who represents District 1…

John Brennan Misses Communist Russia – George Neumayr
.

.
John Brennan’s anti-Trump tweets grow more and more maniacal. His latest tweet holds that Donald Trump’s Russian diplomacy in Helsinki “rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.’ It was nothing short of treasonous.”

That tells people all they need to know about the unseriousness of the left’s impeachment drive, not to mention exposing once again the demented malice behind the Obama administration’s spying on the Trump campaign.

The unhinged criticism is also hilariously rich, given that John Brennan, who supported the Soviet-controlled American Communist Party, meets the textbook definition of a useful idiot for the Russians…

Democrat Hellhole Update: Suspected California ‘Rideshare Rapist’ Is An Illegal Alien – Washington Times

Federal immigration authorities say a suspected serial rapist charged with posing as a Northern California ride-hailing driver to prey on his victims was living in the country illegally.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said Tuesday it plans to deport Orlando Vilchez Lazo to his native Peru if he’s released from custody.

The 36-year-old was arrested last week on multiple allegations, including four counts of felony rape. He is jailed in lieu of $4.2 million in bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

ICE asked the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department to detain Lazo for federal immigration custody if he’s ordered released from jail.

But officials believe the request will be ignored because San Francisco’s so-called sanctuary city policy bars local authorities from cooperating with most deportation efforts…

‘Fake’ Saudi Prince Busted After Being Caught Eating Pork – Zero Hedge

A confidence man who defrauded victims of millions of dollars while posing as a Saudi Prince was exposed after a Miami hotelier witnessed the imposter royal – supposedly a devout Muslim – eating pork during their meetings, according to RT.

The man was, in fact, Anthony Gignac, a Colombian scam artist known for targeting wealthy real estate developers while working under the alias ‘Sultan Bin Khalid Al-Saud’ as he finagled gifts worth around $50,000 from Jeffrey Soffer, the owner of the iconic Fontainebleau resort hotel on Miami Beach.

Soffer was reportedly negotiating with the fictional prince and several co-conspirators about a deal in which the prince would purchase a 30% stake in his hotel in return for a $440 million investment.

During their negotiations, which went on for months, the 47-year-old Gignac stayed in the hotel. He was known for driving expensive cars bearing diplomatic plates, which he had apparently purchased on eBay…

Donald Trump has arrived at Blenheim Palace for a lavish dinner arranged by Theresa May. The Prime Minister aims to use the dinner to push her case for a trade deal with the U.S. ahead of Brexit.

The U.S. president landed at Stansted Airport on Thursday afternoon with First Lady Melania, just a couple of hours after delivering a speech to Nato in Brussels.

Many suspect Mrs May’s desire to align the UK closely with the EU could block a potential deal with the U.S. as any potential deal with Trump involving food produce would result in Washington insisting on including GM crops and hormone-enhanced beef, which are banned across Europe…

Border Patrol Agents Assaulted With Rocks While Rescuing Pregnant Migrant – Breitbart

The agents observed two people on the bridge and a woman who appeared to be in distress at the base of the tree, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials.

Agents said the woman claimed to be pregnant and was suffering from back pain. As the agents started emergency medical treatment on the woman, one of the subjects began to throw rocks from the bridge.

Tories Revolt Over May’s Brexit Blueprint As 98-Page Plan Reveals European Workers Will Be Allowed Into Britain, EU Judges Will Get A Say And The UK Will Follow Brussels Rules – Daily Mail

Tory MPs lashed Theresa May’s Brexit blueprint for recreating the ‘worst parts of the EU’ today as it was published for the first time.

A 98-page report setting out the Government’s demands to Brussels would mean EU workers will still be allowed rights to travel to Britain temporarily. Tourists, young people and business trips would also be allowed in without visas.

EU judges will get to advise a new joint committee of UK and EU officials tasked with resolving disputes after Brexit. And it confirms the Prime Minister’s plan to have Britain follow EU rules on goods without any say on how they are drafted.

Brexiteer ringleader Jacob Rees-Mogg declared the plan ‘does not respect the referendum result’ while Tory MPs lined up to condemn the plans in Parliament.

Amid chaotic scenes, the Commons was briefly suspended as Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab tried to present the policy paper before it was given to MPs…

Socialist Hellhole Update: Thieves Plunder Headstones As Venezuela’s Crisis Turns Grave – WRAL

Grief flooded back for Ivonne de Gutierrez when she brought flowers to her son’s grave at a cemetery in Venezuela’s capital, only to find that the grave markers of several relatives were gone.

The pieces cast with bronze letters and religious symbols that identified the graves of a nephew and two aunts had disappeared since her visit a week earlier.

“Almost all of them have been taken,” Gutierrez said, standing among the vandalized graves at Cemetery of the East, one of Caracas’ most cherished final resting places.

While thieves have been targeting the capital’s necropolises for years, robbing unsuspecting mourners or ransacking tombs for metal objects and even human bones used in occult ceremonies, the crime wave has worsened as the country has been consumed by economic and political crisis.

An avalanche of complaints on Twitter and Instagram in late May prompted the cemetery’s administrators to acknowledge the surge in stolen plaques…

Border Protection Says New York Mayor De Blasio Crossed Border Illegally – Chicago Tribune

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio City and his security detail violated both Mexican and U.S. immigration laws by crossing the border on foot during a visit near El Paso, Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection alleges in a letter obtained by The Associated Press. The mayor’s office flatly denied the allegation.

De Blasio, a fierce critic of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, went to the Texas border with about 20 other mayors from around the country on June 21, the day after President Donald Trump signed an order stopping family separations at the border.

More than 2,300 families were separated as a result of the administration’s zero-tolerance policy, which criminally prosecutes anyone caught crossing illegally. The mayors said Trump had failed to address a humanitarian crisis of his own making.

Judge Charged After Dropping Allegedly Loaded Gun In Courthouse – Law & Crime

A long-serving judge in Chicago was charged with a misdemeanor after he dropped an apparently loaded pistol in the lobby of the city’s main criminal courthouse, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Claps previously oversaw felony criminal cases at the Leighton Criminal Court Building where the gun-dropping incident occurred. He’s since been reassigned to “nonjudicial duties” pending the outcome of a Wednesday meeting of the court’s executive committee.

In surveillance footage of the incident, Judge Claps can be seen walking through the lobby as a small, silver pistols tumbles to the floor. Claps looks down, then bends down, to pick up the gun without incident as two people pass by on his left side.

Fox Raises Sky Offer To $32.5 Billion In Bidding War With Comcast – The Hill

Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox has increased its offer for the Britain-based Sky television service to $32.5 billion amid the company’s bidding war with Comcast.

Trump Is Cutting Off Big Labor From Skimming Americans’ Medicaid Payments, And Unions Are Furious – Daily Caller

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is blistering at a proposed regulation that would prevent the union from siphoning fees from American workers’ Medicaid payments.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced a proposed rule Tuesday that would require Medicaid payments to go directly to healthcare workers, ending a 2014 Obama-era rule that let third parties, such as unions and insurance companies, skim off a share of the paycheck before the worker saw any of it.

The SEIU, one of the largest public-sector unions in the U.S., referred to the proposed rule “as part of the [Trump] administration’s broad, coordinated attack against working people.”

“The proposed rule targets these home care workers and is designed to stop them from contributing their own wages to support their union in the same way that teachers, police and firefighters do,” the SEIU said in a statement…

Employees At Dozens Of German Banks Snagged In Tax-Evasion Probe – Zero Hedge

Late last year, German tax authorities carried out several brazen raids of some of the country’s largest lenders – including Commerzbank – tied to an investigation into so-called “dividend stripping.”

The practice, which was commonplace before German authorities clarified tax laws about five years ago, allowed wealthy individuals to take advantage of a loophole allowing them to buy a stock just before losing rights to the dividend, then sell it short.

Both the buyer and seller could then claim certain tax credits. Before German tax authorities revised the rules, large banks regularly advised their German clients about the practice.

Or that to buy a cup with the most common bill in circulation – the 100-bolivar note – you’d need to gather up a stack of 10,000 of them.

And yet, at the same time, one million bolivars is really nothing. When converted into dollars, it comes to a mere 29 cents. This contrast – a coffee burns through much of a worker’s entire monthly wage but costs just pennies – illustrates the devastating effects of the government’s frantic money-printing policies and how they are sinking the country deeper into poverty…

130 Mexican Political Candidates Assassinated In 10 Months – Breitbart

Political assassinations, murders, and violence continue to escalate as Mexico’s elections approach. In the 10 months since the election cycle started, nearly 130 political candidates were murdered.

The most recent took place this week in Buena Vista Michoacan when a team of cartel gunmen shot and killed Javier Ureña Gonzalez, the acting mayor for the municipality as he visited a small village. Ureña assumed the role of acting mayor while his boss Lorenzo Barajas took leave to run for re-election.

Ureña’s murder comes one day after a Oaxaca state congressional candidate was gunned down along with four of his associates. A team of gunmen killed Emigdio Lopez Avendaño as he was visiting the town of San Vicente Coatlan in the southern part of the state.

Earlier this week, a local campaign worker in the border city of Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, died when he drove up to the scene of a cartel gun-battle…

House Passes Measure To Force DOJ Documents While Rosenstein Grilled In Heated Testimony – Zero Hedge
.

.
The House passed a resolution on Thursday demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) hand over a trove of sensitive documents related to the FBI’s investigations into both Hillary Clinton’s email probe and the Russia investigation.

The floor vote passed 226-183, representing a further escalation in an ongoing feud between Congressional investigators and the DOJ. The demand sets a July 6 deadline for outstanding materials, which Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said on Wednesday that failure to comply could result in holding Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in contempt, or even impeachment.

Moments before the resolution was passed, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein traded barbs in a fiery exchange…

U.S. Military Aims For $1 Billion Missile Defense Radar In Hawaii – Military Times

The U.S. military wants to install missile defense radar in Hawaii to identify any ballistic missiles that are fired from North Korea or elsewhere, officials said Tuesday.

The $1 billion system would spot warheads on missiles headed for Hawaii and other U.S. states, and provide that information to ground-based interceptors in Alaska designed to shoot them down. It would be able to distinguish warheads from decoys that are designed to trick missile defense systems.

The radar would help give the Alaska missiles “better eyes,” said Sen. Brian Schatz, a Democrat from Hawaii and a supporter of the project.

So far, lawmakers have appropriated $61 million for planning but not funds for construction. Schatz, who serves on the defense subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said he doesn’t have much doubt about the likelihood of follow-on funding…

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy Announces Retirement – Fox News

Justice Anthony Kennedy announced Wednesday that he is retiring, giving President Trump a critical opportunity to move the Supreme Court more solidly to the right in what promises to be an epic confirmation fight.

The 81-year-old senior associate justice informed the White House in a letter of his intention to step down from the high court after 30 years, effective July 31. Rumors of another vacancy have reverberated across Washington in recent months, and it comes a year after Kennedy’s former law clerk Justice Neil Gorsuch, took over the seat occupied by the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Trump, reacting to the news, called Kennedy a “great justice” and said he’d begin the search for a replacement immediately…

Trump-Hating FBI Agent Peter Strzok Gives Closed-Door Deposition To House Judiciary Committee – Gateway Pundit

Trump-hating FBI official Peter Strzok was issued a subpoena last week and ordered to appear before the House Judiciary Committee for a deposition Wednesday. It is a closed-door deposition.

Last week, House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte revealed a subpoena had been prepared for Peter Strzok and was ‘on the way.’

Chairman Goodlatte followed through and issued a subpoena to Peter Strzok on Friday demanding he appear before the House Judiciary Committee next Wednesday morning for a deposition.

RINO Ryan’s Amnesty Bill Fails Miserably In House – Breitbart

The Paul Ryan amnesty bill failed to pass through the House on Wednesday and garnered fewer votes than the Trump-endorsed Goodlatte immigration bill.

The House failed to pass the Ryan amnesty bill, otherwise known as the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act (H.R. 6136), with a vote tally of 301 against the bill and 121 for the amnesty bill. At least 111 Republicans voted against the Ryan amnesty legislation. No Democrats voted for the legislation.

Embarrassing Setback: RINO Ryan Cancels Immigration Votes In House – Washington Times

Staring at a certain defeat, House Republicans canceled votes on their immigration compromise Thursday – an embarrassing setback for leaders who thought they had finally been able to wrangle some unanimity on an issue that has bedeviled them for years.

Lawmakers emerged from a closed-door evening meeting to say their new goal is a vote sometime next week, after they try to make tweaks to win over conservatives while keeping moderates on board.

The vote on the “moderate” compromise bill was postponed just hours after a more conservative bill failed in the House by a 231-193 vote. More than three dozen Republicans joined Democrats to kill the legislation.

Worried about a twin rejection on the same day, Republican leaders decided on a cooling-off period.

“The worst thing for us to do would be to fail,” said Rep. Tom Cole, Oklahoma Republican. “I think people desperately want to get to ‘yes.’”…

Fake News Update: Time Magazine’s Shocking Cover Of Trump And Crying Illegal Alien Child Is A Total Lie – Daily Wire
.

.
This week, TIME magazine featured a picture of a crying illegal immigrant child on its cover. The child was supposedly separated from her parents; over her looms Donald Trump, smugly staring down at her.

There’s only one problem: the cover is total bull. It’s not just total bull because Trump hasn’t implemented a newly-developed policy of separating children from parents – that’s an operation of law under the Flores settlement as modified by a 2016 Ninth Circuit court ruling. It’s bull because this particular child wasn’t separated from her mother, her mother wasn’t fleeing persecution but did falsely claim asylum, her mother did put the child in danger, and Trump was targeted by the media for treating this mother and child exactly the same way the Obama administration would have…

Supreme Court Affirms Privacy Rights Of Cellphone Users In ‘Big Brother’ Case – Fox News

The Justice Department suffered a digital-age defeat Friday at the Supreme Court, which sided with the privacy rights of cellphone users in a dispute over law enforcement tracking their movements.

In a 5-4 ruling, the court said law enforcement generally will need a warrant for such searches. Chief Justice John Roberts cast the deciding vote.

At issue is whether the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment requires a search warrant for the government to access a person’s cellphone location history. It is the latest foray by the justices into how laws should be tailored to keep up with technological advances.

The stakes were enormous, since this judicial precedent could be applied more broadly, including government access to Internet, bank, credit card and telephone records.

Roberts in his opinion said going forward, warrants are needed. “We decline to grant the state unrestricted access to a wireless carrier’s database of physical location information,” he wrote.

Supreme Court Usurps Power Of Congress, Regulates Interstate Commerce – Daily Signal

Thursday’s Supreme Court decision in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. threatens to upend online commerce, drive thousands of small entrepreneurs out of business, and hike prices for hundreds of millions of consumers.

Under prior law, states could not force remote retailers to collect and remit sales taxes on their behalf unless the business had a “physical presence” within the state. This requirement no longer applies, potentially saddling remote retailers – many of whom are small businesses – with onerous compliance costs related to the nation’s 12,000 plus taxing jurisdictions, many with their own rates, bases, rules, and regulations.

Congress remains the proper place to address the issue of online sales taxation. Under the commerce clause of the Constitution, Congress alone possesses the ultimate power – delegated by the states at the nation’s founding – to regulate interstate commerce.

Thursday’s ruling further highlights the need for congressional action adequately balancing the interests of competing stakeholders with national economic growth…

Illegal Aliens Fatally Separate American Parents And Children – Daniel Greenfield

In 2008, Colorado separated a Jewish boy from his parents.

Marten Kudlis was separated from his parents while waiting for his mother to bring him his ice cream. The 3-year-old boy who had just been playing in the park never got his ice cream.

Instead Francis Hernandez, an illegal alien driving 81 miles an hour, slammed into a pickup truck, killing the two women inside, and smashing it through the glass wall of the Baskin Robbins.

Blood and broken glass covered the floor. Little Marten, who had just learned to ride a bike, died of a slashed jugular vein and was buried with a teddy bear.

Francis Hernandez had been arrested 16 times in 5 years without ever being turned over to immigration authorities. That failure to enforce immigration law separated a little boy from his family forever.

Disney Ups Its Bid For Fox To $71.3 Billion – Deadline Hollywood

The Walt Disney Company has boosted its bid for the studio and cable network assets of 21st Century Fox to $71.3 billion in cash and stock.

The offer is nearly $19 billion richer than the one Fox accepted last December, and it’s nearly 10% ahead of the $65 billion one Comcast submitted last week. Most analysts and industry observers had expected Disney to match Comcast, but not go so much higher.

The aggressive counter is a sign of the intensity of the M&A climate, in which AT&T finally closed its purchase of Time Warner and other traditional media companies are urgently seeking dance partners.

Disney is offering $38 per share in cash and stock, and taking on $13.8B of Fox’s net debt, which would increase the total transaction to $85.1B. It announced the counter on the same day that Fox’s board was scheduled to meet and assess the Comcast bid for the company…

Gosport Hospital Deaths: Up To 650 Patients Died After Being Prescribed Opioids ‘Without Medical Justification’ – Portsmouth News

At least 456 patients died after being given opioids ‘without medical justification’ at a Gosport hospital where ‘there was a disregard for human life,’ a major report has found. Another 200 ‘probably’ had their lives shortened at Gosport War Memorial hospital as a direct result of the prescribing the drugs without justification.

Rt Rev Jones has now called on Hampshire police’s chief constable, the home secretary Sajid Javid and health secretary Jeremy Hunt to ‘act accordingly’. FBI Agent Peter Strzok In Text To Lisa Page: ‘We’ll Stop’ Trump From Becoming President – National Review

FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was intimately involved in the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the probe of Russian election-meddling, vowed to “stop” Donald Trump from reaching the White House in an August 2016 text message to FBI lawyer Lisa Page, the Washington Post reports.

Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team in August after the inspector general uncovered the text messages, and Page has since left the bureau. This is mad, stupid, and insulting. But not nearly as mad, stupid, and insulting as the decision by the Mslexia Short Story Prize, a literary competition for women authors, to sack one of its judges Lionel Shriver as a punishment for daring to criticise the new policy.

Shriver (who, despite her misleading first name, is a woman) is the American-born, UK-resident novelist best known for her bestseller We Need To Talk About Kevin. She also has a column in the Spectator which this week she used to mock Penguin Random House’s new diversity policy.

It begins:

I’d been suffering under the misguided illusion that the purpose of mainstream publishers like Penguin Random House was to sell and promote fine writing…

San Juan Mayor Who Criticized Trump Now Being Investigated For Corruption – Townhall
.

.
San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz infamously picked a fight with President Trump in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria last year, the storm that devastated Puerto Rico. The official death toll was 64, but Gov. Ricardo Rossello suggested the actual number is higher.

President Trump signed a $36.5 billion aid package for the nation. Some of the aid took awhile to get to its destination. Cruz took aim at the White House in those months, accusing the U.S. government of turning its back on them.

Some of her messages were indirect. She wore a “Nasty Woman” shirt on CNN, in reference to Trump’s insult for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. Others were not blatant, like when she said Trump “speaks out of both sides of his mouth.”…

South Dakota Supreme Court Dismisses Appeal Against Keystone XL Pipeline – Sioux City Journal

South Dakota’s Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal from opponents of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, saying a lower court lacked jurisdiction to hear their cases.

Groups fighting TransCanada Corp.’s pipeline appealed a judge’s decision last year upholding regulators’ approval for the pipeline to cross the state.

But the high court ruled Wednesday that justices didn’t “reach the merits of the case” because the lower court lacked jurisdiction to hear the appeal of the Public Utilities Commission’s decision.

Attorneys for appealing groups haven’t returned telephone messages requesting comment. TransCanada hasn’t responded to an email seeking comment.

The project would move crude oil from Canada across Montana and South Dakota to Nebraska, where it would connect with existing pipelines feeding refineries along the Gulf Coast…

Supreme Court Rules Minnesota Law Banning Political Apparel At Polls Is Illegal – Washington Times

The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a Minnesota law banning voters from wearing political apparel to the polls, saying it was too draconian in stifling Americans’ First Amendment rights.

The 7-2 decision said it may be possible for states to restrict stridently political T-shirts and buttons, but the justices said Minnesota didn’t justify why its law needed to be so broad.

Minnesota’s ban covered any “political badge, political button, or other political insignia” a voter might wear. Andrew Cilek, a state voter, challenged the law after he was told he couldn’t vote in 2010 because he was wearing a T-shirt with the emblem of a local tea party group and had a button asking for poll workers to check his ID.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., writing the majority opinion, said the law left it up to poll workers to decide what was political, creating the potential for conflicting or mischievous decisions over whether something is political…

Oops! Canada Lost 7,500 Jobs Last Month While Trudeau Was Busy Lecturing Trump – Gateway Pundit
.

While Justin Trudeau was busy extolling the value of unfair trade between the US and Canada over the past month, Canada lost 7,500 jobs, according to the latest release last week by Statistics Canada.

The latest employment report for Canada disappointed analysts, who, on average, predicted that Canada would gain 22,000 jobs for the month of May. Canada’s economy remains lack-luster, with an unemployment rate of 5.8%, labor participation rate of just 65.3% and year-over-year GDP growth of just 1.3%.

Meanwhile in the United States, the latest Atlanta Fed Estimate pegs the seasonally adjusted annual GDP growth rate at 4.6% with unemployment sitting at 3.8% and labor participation clocking in at 62.7%…

Retail Sales Boom: Biggest Rise In Six Months, Double Expectations – Breitbart

U.S. retail sales in May far exceeded forecasts, rising by the most in six-months and signaling faster economic growth.

Overall retail sales rose 0.8 percent from the prior month, double the consensus economic estimate of 0.4 percent, according to Commerce Department data released Thursday. The prior month was revised up to 0.4 percent, indicating a stronger April than earlier data suggested.

The retail “control group” sales, which excludes some of the more volatile numbers, rose 0.5 percent, which also exceeded forecasts.

The results likely reflect the high levels of consumer confidence, a very strong labor market, and lower taxes. The unexpected strength in the control group, which excludes gas stations sales, indicates that higher fuel prices have not stolen consumer demand from other sectors of the economy…

The End Of Merkel? German Government In Crisis After Coalition Rebellion Over Immigration – Zero Hedge
.

Europe has another political crisis on its hands, and this one could be a big one as it is right in the middle of Europe’s growth dynamo “ground zero.” As the WSJ reports, a rebellion over immigration in German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative bloc is threatening the stability of her fragile coalition.

Merkel’s weekend decision to veto a plan by her interior minister aimed at controlling and reducing illegal migration, and the minister’s refusal to back down, has already shattered an uneasy truce between conservative backers and opponents of her liberal asylum policy, just months after a tenuous coalition government was formed.

As a result, on Thursday Merkel faced a showdown within her conservative camp over the the future of immigration policy that threatens her political future…

The U.S. Federal Reserve has voted to raise the target for its benchmark interest rate by 0.25%, citing solid economic expansion and job gains. The widely-anticipated decision will lift the target for the central bank’s benchmark rate to 1.75%-2%, the highest level since 2008.

A majority of Fed officials also forecast two more rate rises this year, one more than previously predicted.

The rise is part of the U.S. recovery following the global financial crisis. It is the seventh time the bank has raised rates since 2015.

The tighter policy reflects expectations that US growth and inflation will prove stronger than officials anticipated in March, while the unemployment rate continues to fall…

Plan To Split California Into 3 States Earns Spot On November Ballot – Los Angel4es Times

California’s 168-year run as a single entity, hugging the continent’s edge for hundreds of miles and sprawling east across mountains and desert, could come to an end next year – as a controversial plan to split the Golden State into three new jurisdictions qualified Tuesday for the Nov. 6 ballot.

If a majority of voters who cast ballots agree, a long and contentious process would begin for three separate states to take the place of California, with one primarily centered around Los Angeles and the other two divvying up the counties to the north and south. Completion of the radical plan – far from certain, given its many hurdles at judicial, state and federal levels – would make history.

It would be the first division of an existing U.S. state since the creation of West Virginia in 1863.

“Three states will get us better infrastructure, better education and lower taxes,” Tim Draper, the Silicon Valley venture capitalist who sponsored the ballot measure, said in an email…

North Korea Apparently Destroys Missile Test Facility – Breitbart

After his summit with dictator Kim Jong-un on Tuesday, President Trump indicated the North Koreans are dismantling another facility important to their development of nuclear missiles following the purported shutdown of the Punggye-ri nuclear bomb testing site.

Analysts believe this was a reference to the missile engine testing site at Kusong, which appears to be undergoing demolition based on satellite imagery.

North Korean watchdog site 38 North reported last week that the Iha-ri Driver Training and Test Facility, as it is formally known, was the only known facility for testing the launch system for Pyongyang’s latest generation of land-based long-range ballistic missiles.

The launch canister and ejection system is an essential component of mobile missile systems, providing the ability to prep and launch the enormous missiles quickly.

North Korea was also working on solid-fuel rocket engines, which can be launched more quickly and transported more easily than liquid-fueled missiles…

Trump Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize By Norwegian Politicians – Zero Hedge

The summit in Singapore has made U.S. President Donald Trump “a man of peace,” according to two Norwegian parliamentary representatives (from the Frp party), and as NRK reports, they have nominated him for the most gifted award of all of them.

Shawn Moody Wins Maine GOP Gubernatorial Primary – Maine Public

Republican businessman Shawn Moody won Tuesday’s ranked-choice voting primary in the race to succeed Maine’s firebrand Gov. Paul LePage, while no clear majority winner had emerged in the Democratic primary.

The founder of a string of auto repair shops won a majority of the Republican vote, meaning there’s no need for additional rounds of voting under the voting system used in a statewide primary for the first time in U.S. history.

If the Democratic result holds when all of the votes are counted, there would be additional rounds of vote tabulations next week, as election officials eliminate last-place candidates and reallocate votes. The winner of that race may not be known for at least a week.

Court Says Doctors And Nurses Can Pretty Much Commit Sexual Assault If Directed By Police – Law & Crime

A federal court has ruled that doctors and nurses can perform forced medical procedures against innocent women – invasively violating them anally and vaginally – without their consent so long as police claim it’s necessary and acceptable.

Judge James E. Graves Jr. delivered the panel opinion of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. In a tidy summary of the facts of the case, Graves noted [emphasis added]:

Gloria Bustillos (“Bustillos”) is a [56-year-old] U.S. citizen. On September 19, 2013, Bustillos was crossing the Paso del Norte bridge from Juarez, Mexico, to El Paso, Texas. Bustillos did not have any illegal drugs or contraband. After presenting her passport to Customs and Border Protection agents, Bustillos was immediately taken into custody despite telling agents that she was not in possession of narcotics. An increasingly intrusive series of searches followed.

Yes, we continue to be plagued by the unconstitutional legislation known as Obamacare, and sadly there are too many people who want government to usurp its constitutional authority and steal from one citizen to pay for another citizen’s health care.

Billionaire Enviro-Weenie Paying Convicted Felons To Gather Signatures For Arizona Ballot Initiative – Daily Caller

An organization backed by environmentalist Tom Steyer is allegedly paying convicted felons to gather signatures for a ballot initiative in Arizona – a crime in the state.

NFL Teams To Be Fined If Players Kneel During National Anthem – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

NFL owners approved a new policy aimed at addressing the firestorm over national anthem protests sparked by Colin Kaepernick and polarized by President Donald Trump, permitting players to stay in the locker room during the “The Star-Spangled Banner” but requiring them to stand if they come to the field.

The decision was also met with immediate skepticism by the players’ union.
