French jets have launched a series of ‘massive’ air strikes on ISIS in Syria as the country started its ‘pitiless’ retribution for the terror attacks on Paris.
The blitz was conducted by ten fighter planes which dropped 20 bombs on the terror group’s capital of Raqqa, destroying a key command centre, training camp and munitions dump, throwing the city into panic.
The bombardment came just two days after President Francois Hollande said the co-ordinated attacks in Paris that killed up to 129 people was an ‘act of war’ and vowed to strike ISIS in Syria ‘without mercy’.
In France, police carried out around 150 co-ordinated anti-terrorism raids across the country this morning, arresting dozens of suspects and seizing a cache of weapons including a rocket launcher.
A huge manhunt is also underway for accomplices of the Islamist cell including one of the bomb plotters who is still on the run today after police let him go in a string of incredible security blunders before and after the atrocity on Friday night.
A French official has also identified the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks as Belgian Abdelhamid Abaaoud.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, meanwhile, has warned that authorities believe new terror attacks are being planned in France and in other European countries following the carnage.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has also called for the dissolution of mosques ‘where hatred is preached’ in comments made on French television.
The air strikes in Syria, carried out in co-ordination with U.S. forces, struck a command centre, recruitment centre for jihadists, a munitions depot and a training camp for fighters, it said.
Activists inside Syria have suggested that no civilian casualties have been sustained in the Raqqa bombings.
Water supplies and electricity have reportedly been cut as a result of the air strikes, with activists claiming there has been ‘panic’ inside the city.
‘The raid… including 10 fighter jets, was launched simultaneously from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Twenty bombs were dropped,’ the French Defence ministry statement said last night.
Meanwhile, heavily armed tactical units launched more than 150 pre-dawn raids at addresses in Toulouse, Lyon, Grenoble, Calais and two suburbs of Paris.
French media reports a rocket launcher, flack jackets, several pistols and a Kalashnikov assault rifle were among the cache of weapons seized in Lyon overnight, with five people arrested.
They were among dozens of arrests in areas linked with radical Islamists who may have helped seven suicide bombers carry out the carnage.
French security sources said a fourth terrorist had now been identified as Frenchman Samy Aminour, 28, after raids on addresses in the Parisian suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis and Bobigny linked to his family overnight.
Aminour, thought to be one of four jihadis who massacred 89 fans at the Bataclan rock gig, is said to have been known to French anti-terror police since 2012 when he was prosecuted for trying to flee France for Yemen.
This morning, Mr Valls said that new terror attacks are being planned in France and in other European countries.
‘We know that operations were being prepared and are still being prepared, not only against France but other European countries too,’ he said.
France would be living with the threat of terror attacks ‘for a long time’, he said.
Valls said he was struck by the fact that young people had been targeted in Friday’s attacks on a concert hall, bars and restaurants and outside the Stade de France stadium.
France and other countries in Europe today observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the worst-ever terror attacks on French soil.
In Paris, President Francois Hollande and his cabinet, all dressed in black, bowed their heads at the Sorbonne University, surrounded by scores of students.
And at Place de la Republique near the site of many of Friday’s attacks, hundreds more stood still to remember the 129 people who were killed in the bloodbath.
Large crowds also gathered in silence by the Bataclan music venue where 89 people were died, and outside a nearby bar and restaurant where 15 people were murdered.
Mr Valls comments came as serious questions were being asked of France’s security operation after it emerged one of the fugitives wanted over the Paris bloodbath was arrested then released by police hours after the attacks.
Frenchman Salah Abdeslam, 26, from a suburb of Brussels known as the ‘jihadi’ capital of Europe, is now the subject of a vast international manhunt – after being questioned and let go by officers guarding the Belgian border.
One of his brothers, Ibrahim Abdeslam, 31, was one of seven terrorists who died on Friday night after he blew himself up in a solo attack outside cafe Comptoir Voltaire. He had rented a black Seat found yesterday in Paris packed with AK-47s and ammunition.
The third sibling, Mohammed Abdeslam, was in custody in Belgium last night after being arrested in a Brussels, where the ISIS terror cell may have met before the raid to gather automatic weapons and suicide vests.
French police broadcast the name and image of Salah Abdeslam, a 26-year-old born in Brussels, across Europe, warning that he is very dangerous.
‘Do not intervene yourself,’ his arrest warrant says.
He is believed to have played a key role in planning the operations.
Four French officials acknowledged that police had Abdeslam in their grasp, when they stopped a car carrying him and two other men near the Belgian border early today.
By then, hours had passed since authorities identified Abdeslam as the renter of a Volkswagen Polo that carried hostage takers to the Paris theatre where so many were killed.
Three French police officials and a top French security official confirmed that officers let Abdeslam go after checking his ID.
They spoke on condition of anonymity, lacking authorisation to publicly disclose such details.
It is now known that three of the suicide bombers were French nationals, two of whom lived in the Belgian capital Brussels.
In a further sign of the growing Belgian connection, investigators said two cars used in the violence were hired there.
One was found near the Bataclan venue, and the other in the suburb of Montreuil east of Paris, with a number of AK47 rifles inside.
Witnesses said the second car, a black Seat, was used by the gunmen who shot dozens of people in bars and restaurants in the hip Canal St Martin area of Paris.
The first attacker to be named by investigators was Omar Ismail Mostefai, a 29-year-old French citizen, who was identified by a severed finger found among the carnage at the Bataclan.
Meanwhile, the discovery of a Syrian passport near the body of one suicide attacker has raised fears that some of the assailants might have entered Europe as part of the huge influx of people fleeing Syria’s civil war.
Greek and Serbian authorities have confirmed the passport was issued to a man who registered as a refugee in October on the island of Leros and applied for asylum in Serbia a few days later.
Clues about the extent of the terror plot have emerged from Baghdad, where senior Iraqi officials told the the AP news agency that France and other countries had been warned on Thursday of an imminent attack.
An Iraqi intelligence dispatch warned that Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had ordered his followers to immediately launch gun and bomb attacks and take hostages inside the countries of the coalition fighting them in Iraq and Syria.
The Iraqi dispatch, which was obtained by the AP, provided no details on when or where the attack would take place, and a senior French security official told the AP that French intelligence gets these kinds of warnings ‘all the time’ and ‘every day.’
However, Iraqi intelligence officials told the AP that they also warned France about specific details: Among them, that the attackers were trained for this operation and sent back to France from Raqqa, the Islamic State’s de-facto capital.
The officials also said that a sleeper cell in France then met with the attackers after their training and helped them to execute the plan. There were 24 people involved in the operation, they said: 19 attackers and five others in charge of logistics and planning.
Last night French intelligence officials were quizzing a man suspected of being a quartermaster to the Paris murder gang.
The suspect – identified only as ‘Vlatko V’, 51 – had driven 750 miles from Montenegro through Croatia, Slovenia and Austria, before he was stopped on an autobahn in Bavaria last Thursday.
Officers discovered eight loaded AK-47 assault rifles in secret compartments of his Volkswagen Golf.
Three handguns, two hand grenades, fuses, detonators and almost half a pound of TNT completed the mini arsenal.
Also found in the vehicle were several Parisian telephone numbers and other addresses.
The man, who is Muslim according to unconfirmed reports, has no apparent previous criminal record or specific links to radical Islamists.
But police believe he is linked to organised crime groups in Montenegro that may have agreed to supply weaponry to jihadi groups.
A German intelligence source said police officers blundered by not reporting the seizure to anti-terror specialists in Berlin, who may have alerted France.
It also emerged that French security police arrested a man in August on suspicion of plotting a terror attack on a concert venue.
The man was held just two months after he returned from a six-day trip to Raqqa, Syria.
According to reports, the suspect confessed that he was ordered by an ISIS leader to return to Europe or France to carry out an atrocity and suggested a busy concert hall as an ideal target.
The apparent intelligence failures come amid an ongoing inquiry into the fatal errors by the security services in the lead up to the Charlie Hebdo murders in Paris in January.
Disturbing but really not surprising. France, like many European nations have allowed immigration without assimilation. Now Muslim “No Go Zones” exist, and many Muslims are not take the freedom France offers, but refuse to be part of France
There are an estimated 750 no-go zones across France, large, insular neighborhoods where the government has all but surrendered authority to the Muslim community.
Many of these areas are governed by Islamic Sharia law, and the state is unable to provide even basic public aid such as police, fire and ambulance services.
He added that 40-percent of France’s five million Muslims live outside of Paris in these ghettos, and some of those areas felt “pretty scary,” almost like Afghanistan or Iraq.
“You see young men wearing Osama bin Laden T-shirts,” Peterson said. “In a hookah shop, I saw a speech by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was leading an insurgency against American troops in Iraq at the time. It seemed very mainstream and very accepted.”
Good for CNN to bring some light to this
Displaying powerful symbolic unity, in fitting and proper testament to the defense of civilization, more than 40 world leaders linked arms to lead the mass march in Paris in resolve against Islamist terror.
The United States of America, Barack Obama, President, was inexcusably absent from one of the most critical turning points in the war between radical Islam and the West since 9/11.
No Obama. No Joe Biden. No John Kerry from State. No Chuck Hagel or Ashton Carter from Defense. Not even Eric Holder from Justice, who happened to have been in Paris.
Yet there was British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Jordan’s King Abdullah and so many others – most extraordinarily including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
All linked arms with French President Francoise Hollande, leader of the country where terrorists killed 17 in a deliberate attack on democratic values, leader of one of America’s most stalwart allies in the war on terror.
Still worse, Obama’s abdication of leadership reflects a larger presidential failure to convey the gravity of the Charlie Hebdo attack, even if the substance of his anti-terror policy remains strong.
On Friday, shortly after the assault reached its fatal climax, Obama appeared at a campaign-style rally in Tennessee to tout economic good news. He opened with happy talk, then devoted 310 perfunctory words to the events in Paris. Two hours later, he delivered more happy talk at a second Tennessee rally.
On Saturday, he opened his weekly radio address: “Hi, everybody. About a year ago, I promised that 2014 would be a breakthrough year for America. And this week, we got more evidence to back that up.”
Bypassing Paris, the President closed, “Thanks, everybody, and have a great weekend.”
Not in Paris. Not in the U.S. Not in the world under siege.
Everyone should be able to guess Sen. Murphy’s NRA rating. Nearly a third of the press releases the Senator has sent out since he took the oath of office in January have had NRA in the headline, as he’s made it his mission to take on the powerful pro-gun lobby. The latest: Murphy Urges NASCAR to Reverse Decision To Name New Race NRA 500.
Murphy wrote to NASCAR CEO Brian France Thursday asking him to knock the NRA off the sponsor list for the Sprint Cup Race Series in April. NRA is the title sponsor of the race, which will be named the NRA 500. Murphy told France that post-Newtown, aligning yourself with such an extreme position on guns is insensitive to the people of Newtown and puts you at odds with the the ‘overwhelming majority’ of the American public.
“Why take sides against the families of Newtown, Connecticut, by teaming up with the NRA in the middle of an intense legislative fight over gun laws?” Murphy asked.
Well, poll after polls how the NRA MORE popular than the gun grabbing nut jobs like Murphy, and, frankly, many NRA members would have tried their level best to protect those kids at that school. They only one playing politics here is Sen. Murphy, who would be ashamed of himself if he was not so morally retarded.
Stacy McCain opines today that everyone hates Piers Morgan
The petition to deport Piers Morgan is now nearing 90,000 signatures— which is what I’d call “a gpod start” — and this groundswell of antipathy to being lectured by a smarmy Brit on CNN has now reached America’s youth, including Michael Butler at The High School Conservative:
Piers Morgan “has a case of the sads” over the deportation petition, tweeting things such as “Ironic U.S. gun rights campaign to deport me for ‘attacking 2nd amendment rights’ – is my opinion not protected under 1st amendment rights?” One witty twitter user responded with “You ignore the Constitution, why shouldn’t they?” For those of you wondering if we really can deport Piers Morgan for being stupid, we can. James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal explains, “Your opinion is protected, your presence in the U.S. is not. See Kleindienst v. Mandel (1972).” . . .
There is also a response petition from British citizens which reads, “We got rid of him once and why should we have to suffer again. The Americans wanted him so they should put up with him. We washed our hands of him a long time ago.
McCain goes on to suggest we send Piers to France, or Canada. Hmmm, I can see Morgan in a beret, in fact, he sort of looks like he is wearing one when you watch him on CNN, if you are among the 77 people who do. He has that air of arrogance, that air of self-importance, and that accent, which is super hot on a woman (think Julia Ormond, Emma Samms, Kate Beckinsale or Kate Winslet), but on a man? But, to be fair here, not everyone hates Piers, just those that have heard him and his snooty drivel. Poor Piers, he just does not understand that when you start berating people who own guns, and criticizing the Bible, lots of folks will hold it against you. And guess what Piers, that First Amendment you are so worried about? It also grants us, the right to criticize you.
This piece by The Lonely Conservative got me thinking. She points out, rightly, that the Cloward-Piven strategy worked in last week’s French and Greek elections.
Most people who believe in freedom and free markets are probably wondering how on Earth France could have voted in an openly socialist president, and the Greeks voted Neo-Nazis into power. Don’t these people realize how perilous their situation is? Why would they vote this way, rather than vote for politicians who will cut spending, cut government debt and put their countries on a path to solvency and economic prosperity?
The answer is simple. They are voting for politicians who have promised to keep the gravy train rolling, consequences be damned. It’s the Cloward-Piven strategy in action – get enough people on the government dole and they will vote to keep the benefits they’ve grown used to.
BINGO! I have believed for a while now that this is the NUMBER ONE aim of the Democrats here in America. Like a crack dealer they seek to make as man of us as dependent upon government as possible. They know, that once hooked, the people will be very loathe to break the cycle of dependence. Now, consider how Obama and the Democrats have increased government jobs the last three plus years. Think of how much they have hammered the class warfare rhetoric. And it will not end in 2017 if Obama is reelected either. This is a long-term strategy to keep Liberals in power for decades.
Once the government provides jobs, or benefits for a majority of Americans, then there will likely be no turning back. As government dependence grows, people will feel an increased pressure to continue to vote Democrat. And need I say where that road eventually leads?
Smitty notes that the French voters have voted to double down on Socialism
According to Breitbart, Nicolas the Short has been ousted in favor of Francois Holland. Holland seems to favor:
- raise taxes (including a marginal tax rate for earnings above $1 million to 75%),
- lower retirement age, and
- boost spending levels
Well, because it is easy, I mean they wear Berets and talk funny. Also, it is safe, because no one from France will kick your butt for doing it, I mean they wear Berets! Lastly, it is fun, I mean they wear Berets!! Just ask Chris at Wyblog who is more afraid of literate baboons, because they do NOT wear Berets.
Dan the baboon sits in front of a computer screen. The letters BRRU pop up. With a quick and almost dismissive tap, the monkey signals it’s not a word. Correct. Next comes, ITCS. Again, not a word. Finally KITE comes up.
He pauses and hits a green oval to show it’s a word. In the space of just a few seconds, Dan has demonstrated a mastery of what some experts say is a form of pre-reading and walks away rewarded with a treat of dried wheat.
Dan is part of new research that shows baboons are able to pick up the first step in reading — identifying recurring patterns and determining which four-letter combinations are words and which are just gobbledygook.
The study shows that reading’s early steps are far more instinctive than scientists first thought and it also indicates that non-human primates may be smarter than we give them credit for.
“They’ve got the hang of this thing,” said Jonathan Grainger, a French scientist and lead author of the research.
Sure, this week they give him some dried wheat. Next week? Next week he gets a rifle. The French immediately surrender. Then we find out Dan’s real name is Dr. Zaius.
Where’s Charlton Heston when you need him?
Yeah, go ahead, laugh now, but when we are fighting monkeys in the streets, we will know who to blame won’t we? Yeah, those beret-wearing Frenchmen!
It is pretty easy to look at the recent attack on a Jewish school in France was perpetrated by a terrorist, a Muslim terrorist to be more accurate, yet, as Zions Trumpet points out, the media is not willing to admit the truth
France Shooter Who Killed The Jews
“…Then the man was caught. His first name was funny for a neo-Nazi: Muhammad. In fact, he is a rabid Muslim, a jihadi who claims membership in al`Qaeda, a man caught fighting for the Taliban in Afghanistan by US Forces, who under President Obama’s rules was shipped to France, where he went nuts and murdered people.
Instantly, the press ran out and tried to control this news. Ed West wrote for the Telegraph:
It’s easy to get it wrong because so many of the world’s varied extremists, whatever their motivation and however much they might hate each other, focus their anger and loathing on similar targets – the state, the city, modernity, capitalism, and the one group who embody all these complicating, unsettling changes in the minds of lonely, failed young men – Jews.
…as for the tragedy in France, it does not say anything about Islam, only of human nature and its potential for evil. All that matters ultimately is that three innocent children, a father and three young soldiers are now dead.
I hate to bring reality into this, I am sure that reality is deeply offensive to fools like Ed West, as reality, or in this case the mere recognition of reality would make poor Mr. West feel like an Islamaphobe. Well, Mr. West, tough! Reality is what it is, no matter what your idealistic view of life says. The fact is that idealism falls flat on its face as soon as it runs into reality..
Now, the terrorist that killed seven people in France is dead, thankfully, and he certainly was not representative of all Muslims. Two of the dead soldiers this monster shot were Muslims, as MANY victims of Muslim terrorism are. But, Mr. West these acts of terror, DO, indeed have a lot to do with Islam. Again, some facts, most, as in almost all acts of terrorism are perpetrated by Muslims. And those attacks are not at all rare, so there is something deeply wrong here Mr. West. Something is deeply wrong within the religion of Islam, and denying that fact, in a shallow attempt to somehow appease radicals, will not stop a single act of terror.
People like Mr. West are delusional. They have somehow convinced themselves that identifying a radical Muslim terrorist as a radical Muslim terrorist will reflect badly on them. Not at all. Nor does such an admission of the simple truth make all, or even most Muslims bad people. As Rex Murphy points out, it is NOT Islamaphobic to call a Jihadist a Jihadist.
The recent slaughter of four French Jews, including two small children, has, in part, been met with calls for people to not paint all Islam with responsibility for the shooting — an uncontentious urging. No reasonable people are making that claim. But there also have been calls suggesting that any reference to the Islamist terrorist connections of the killer would be a species of Islamophobia. This is pure nonsense and folly.
It is not Islamophobic to note the motives and background of the murderer. In fact, it is a form of cowardice and evasion not to do so.
The number-one cause of “Islamophobic” feeling in the world is not a thing, an event, a philosophy, but a person: It is the (happily) deceased Osama bin Laden. If one decries Islamophobia, then one must condemn bin Laden as its Nile source. Bin Laden, more than any other person, has besmirched the practice and understanding of Islam and engendered suspicion of some of its adherents.
There are other sources of Islamophobia as well. Horrors perpetrated in the name of fundamentalist Islam, such as attacks on young girls going to school, the internecine slaughters of various sects, the cruel penalties exacted by the Taliban’s repressive creed — stonings, amputations and executions for apostasy — also feed the angry atmosphere, and they are not phantoms of a prejudiced imagination
Sadly though, Mr. West is so consumed with being politically correct that he finds the truth offensive. Such a head-in-the-sand attitude does not help anyone.
Oddly enough, if this shooter had acted in the name of Christianity, well, the media would have no problem bringing up inherent problems with Christianity would they? Heck, the Left never hesitates to blame “The Right” or Conservatives, do they? Of course not! They make that immediate accusation, even before any information about the perpetrator is known. And, even if such a connection is proven false, many on the Left go on making the accusation any way.
Again, the complete lack of consistency of the Left shows itself. But, what do we expect from an ideology that is so intellectually and morally bankrupt? If West thinks these attacks had nothing to do with Islam he might want to ignore possible future attacks
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — Dozens of French Muslims are training with the Taliban in northwestern Pakistan, raising fears of future attacks following the shooting deaths of seven people in southern France allegedly by a man who spent time in the region, Pakistani intelligence officials said Saturday.
Authorities are investigating whether Mohamed Merah, the Frenchman of Algerian descent who is suspected of killing three Jewish schoolchildren, a rabbi and three French paratroopers in Toulouse this month, was among the training group, the officials said.
Merah was killed in a dramatic gunfight with police Thursday after a 32-hour standoff at his Toulouse apartment. The 23-year-old former auto body worker traveled twice to Afghanistan in 2010 and to Pakistan in 2011, and said he trained with al-Qaida in the Pakistani militant stronghold of Waziristan.
Approximately 85 Frenchmen have been training with the Pakistani Taliban in the North Waziristan tribal area for the past three years, according to the intelligence officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. Most of the men have dual nationality with France and North African countries.
The Frenchmen operate under the name Jihad-e-Islami and are being trained to use explosives and other weapons at camps near the town of Miran Shah and in the Datta Khel area, the officials said. They are led by a French commander who goes by the name Abu Tarek. Five of the men returned to France in January 2011 to find new recruits, according to the officials. It’s unclear whether Merah was among that group.
A militant commander, Ahmed Marwat, claimed in a phone call with the AP on Saturday that Merah was affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban in Waziristan, but provided no details. Marwat said he was part of the Jundullah wing of the Pakistani Taliban.
West and his ilk may also want to ignore the killer’s brother’s words of praise for his butchering innocents
(The Sun) — THE brother of the al-Qaeda maniac who massacred seven people including three kids has said he is proud of the killing spree.
The older brother is also linked to militant Islamic groups and is being held over alleged terror offences with his girlfriend and mother.
He told cops: “I am very proud of my brother. I regret nothing for him and approve of what he did.”
Proud of butchering children? Yes, Mr. West, YES,Islam has a major problem, with fanatics. And not just fanatics who kill children in the name of their religion. How about the manner in which Islam treats women? Of course, at least they have rule books for beating their wives right Mr. West?
(Toronto Sun) — A local bookstore has “sold out” of a controversial marriage guide that advises Muslim men on how to beat their wives.
The 160-page book, published by Idara Impex in New Delhi, India, is written by Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi, who’s described in the book’s foreword as a “prolific writer on almost every topic of Islamic learning.”
The store’s manager, who didn’t give his name, said the book had been sold out for some time, and the store’s owner, whom the manager identified as Shamim Ahmad, refused to comment for the story.
It wasn’t clear whether the shop has ordered more copies of the book, but it’s available at online Islamic bookstores and even through eBay.
In the book’s opening pages, it is written that “it might be necessary to restrain her with strength or even to threaten her.”
Later, its author advises that “the husband should treat the wife with kindness and love, even if she tends to be stupid and slow sometimes.”
Page 45 contains the rights of the husband, which include his wife’s inability to leave “his house without his permission,” and that his wife must “fulfil his desires” and “not allow herself to be untidy … but should beautify herself for him … ”
In terms of physical punishment, the book advises that a husband may scold her, “beat by hand or stick,” withhold money from her or “pull (her) by the ears,” but should “refrain from beating her excessively.”
Boy, reality sucks! Right Mr. West?
That Religion of Peace strikes again
From the mid-1930s to early 1940s, Jews who recognized that they were no longer safe in Europe anxiously sought refuge abroad. Sylvain Zenouda, the co-founder and current vice president of the Bureau National de Vigilance Contre l”Antisèmitism—an organization which monitors and documents anti-Semitism in France—told me that educated young Jews in France with the financial means to do so have either fled the country or are making plans to flee. Again?
80 years ago, our people were being verbally abused and brutally assaulted in public places. And now it seems to be happening all over again. Viviane Teitelbaum, a minister in the Brussels Regional Parliament, related an incident that occurred this past November involving a 13-year old Jewish girl in Brussels. The girl was brutally assaulted at her school, resulting in her hospitalization for multiple injuries including a concussion. The attackers were not members of the Third Reich’s SS, but a group of female Muslim students at the same school. The ringleader pronounced her to be a “filthy Jew!” Apparently, in the weeks prior to the attack, the girl’s father had approached the authorities and the school with complaints that there had been threats made by fellow classmates against his daughter. Upon hearing that his concerns were simply brushed aside, I immediately thought of Yogi Berra’s famous gaff: “This is like déjà vu all over again!”
2 generations ago, some Jews sought to protect themselves by masquerading as Aryans. In an interview conducted in November, a Parisian mother related how the fear of being physically attacked by Muslim extremist thugs means that it is “not rare at all today” for French Jewish students to attempt to pass themselves off as Muslim – with some even going as far as to fast on Ramadan. One case in point was a Jewish girl of North African descent who for years was successful in this deception, until finally she was “exposed” when Muslim girls caught her eating matzah in the bathroom during Pesah. After her classmates beat her viciously, they invited their male Muslim friends to their school to participate in a gang rape.
This type of thuggery will get worse, unless the West stands strong against it
The offices of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo were firebombed last night.
The magazine included a cartoon of Mohammad on its cover with the caption, “100 lashes if you don’t die of laughter!”
The offices were gutted in the fire.
The offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which published a special Arab Spring edition Wednesday with the prophet Mohammed as guest “editor”, were gutted in a petrol bomb attack overnight, police said.
The fire at the magazine started around 01.00 am (0200 GMT) and caused no injuries, a police source said.
Charlie Hebdo published a special edition Wednesday to mark the Arab Spring, renaming the magazine Charia (Sharia) Hebdo for the occasion.
The cover showed a cartoon of the prophet stating: “100 lashes if you don’t die of laughter!”
The depiction of the prophet is strictly prohibited in Islam.
A witness at the scene, Patrick Pelloux, told AFP a molotov cocktail was hurled through the window and set fire to the computer system.
“Everything was destroyed,” he said.
The magazine’s publisher, known only as Charb, said he was convinced the fire was linked to the special edition.
“On Twitter, on Facebook, we received several letters of protest, threats, insults,” which had been forwarded to the police, he said.
On Wednesday, the weekly said it would publish a special edition to “celebrate” the Ennahda Islamist party’s election victory in Tunisia and the transitional Libyan executive’s statement that Islamic Sharia law would be the country’s main source of law.
Meanwhile, a play that Jesus covered in crap is also playing in Paris. No firebombs were reported.
