Education Secretary Arne Duncan: Hey, I apologize for being a lying political hack

(CNN) – Education Secretary Arne Duncan said he should have been clearer when describing the effects automatic spending cuts would have on one particular school district in West Virginia, saying Monday he was sorry for using the faulty example.

Duncan told reporters at the White House last Wednesday that the Kanawha County school system was already handing out pink slips in anticipation of the automatic cuts that, among other things, will impact the amount of federal money states get through September.

“Yes, there’s a district where it’s happened. But, again, it’s just because they have an earlier union notification than most – Kanawha County, West Virginia,” Duncan said at a briefing where Cabinet officers detailed the impact of cuts under the so-called congressional sequester to their agency programs. On Monday, Duncan said at a meeting with school district leaders he was sorry he misspoke.

“Language is really, really important, and I want to apologize for not being as clear as I should’ve been last week. Because I wasn’t as clear, the spotlight was put on me and that’s never ever my goal,” Duncan said. “My goal here is to have the spotlight be on children and families, so when I said ‘pink slips’ that was probably the wrong word. I should’ve used ‘job eliminations,’ ‘positions eliminated.’”

He, of course did not misspeak, he lied, deliberately, through his teeth. He was simply trying to scare people, which is what Liberal Democrats do. And Duncan was simply doing what his boss was doing as well, lying to try to blame Republicans for cuts.

Here is an idea, we want to cut spending?, How about we abolish the Education Department? Wonder how much that would save?

Arne Duncan explains Collectivism

Here you go, our Education Secretary, Arne Duncan touts our rights, as secondary to common values, in other words the common good that Marx and Engels espoused

Americans value their children, their safety, and the right to pursue their dreams without fear — and those “common values” trump the rights set forth in the U.S. Constitution, Education Secretary Arne Duncan said last Friday in aspeech at a Washington, D.C., elementary school.

In the coming weeks, Duncan said he plans to spend a lot of time visiting schools and communities — to talk about gun violence:

“I want to talk to gun owners and hunters and sport shooters and ask them, what should we do? I want to talk about community and responsibility, and I want to talk about values — because we have common values that go far beyond the constitutional right to bear arms.

There you are, Collectivism defined by a Collectivist. Individual natural rights? Not if our “common values” are offended. Of course, once we as a nation sacrifice our natural rights on the Altar of Collectivism, we will seal our fate, soon no one will have any right that the government does not grant us. Rights that same government will then hold the power to revoke at their whim.
