MLK III is a disgrace to his fathers name

What a sorry excuse for a human being

Via CBS News:

Tens of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall Saturday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 March on Washington, listening as political and civil rights leaders reflected on the legacy of racial progress over the last half-century and urged Americans to press forward in pursuit of King’s dream of equality. […]

Martin Luther King III paid tribute to his father’s legacy. “Five decades ago my father stood upon this hallowed spot” and “crystallized like never before the painful pilgrimage and aching aspirations of African-Americans yearning to breathe free.”

King’s message was not a “lament” or a “diatribe,” his son said, but a call to action – and a reminder that the work always goes on.

“The task is not done, the journey is not complete,” he said. “The vision preached by my father a half-century ago was that his four little children would no longer live in a nation where they would judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

“However, sadly, the tears of Trayvon Martin’s mother and father remind us that, far too frequently, the color of one’s skin remains a license to profile, to arrest and to even murder with no regard for the content of one’s character,” he said, calling for “stand your ground” self-defense laws to be repealed in states where they have been enacted.

Nothing but a race pimping Leftist hack trying to destroy this great nation, and the basic human right of self-defense. If he gave one damn about Black victims of violence, he would address Black on Black crime, which counts for the vast majority of Black killings. But he is all about $$$$$$$$

Sharyl Attkisson: I think I know who hacked my computers

Via Newsbusters

As NewsBusters previously reported, CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson announced last Friday that her computers had been hacked into “by an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions in late 2012.”

On Monday, Attkisson told Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly that she thinks she knows who did it

O’REILLY: And they found out that you indeed were being hacked and made the announcement on Friday. So where does it go from here? I guess CBS could sue somebody, but you got to have somebody who is under suspicion, right? Do you have somebody who is under suspicion?

ATTKISSON: Well, we’re being cautioned, you know, what to say and what not to say at this point.

O’REILLY: By whom?

ATTKISSON: I have attorneys at CBS who are helping us through this. I also have personal counsel.

O’REILLY: And so all your counsel is saying don’t say anything. Do you have the same counsel that the Attorney General has and that Mueller has? No, it’s a joke. Bad joke. Sorry. So all of your counsel is saying don’t accuse anybody right now.

ATTKISSON: Well, they’re just telling us what we can say more than anything right now which is, you know, which you basically heard that there has been an intrusion of the computer. This is not phishing. This is not malware. This is not an ordinary as someone asked me old boyfriend trying to look through my files.

O’REILLY: Okay, this is big?

ATTKISSON: Yeah.

O’REILLY: And, but in order to go after somebody, you’ve got to have a suspicion, and I assume you have a suspicion. You don’t have to tell me. I don’t want to get your lawyers mad but I assume you have a suspicion.

ATTKISSON: Well, I think I know, but I, I’m just not prepared to go into that. So, we’re continuing our investigation. There are multi-facetted, you know, looks at what to do next.

Stay tuned for that possible bombshell folks

CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson’s computer was hacked on multiple occasions

Via Gateway Pundit

In May, Sharyl Attkisson announced that her computers were compromised by the Obama administration.

Today CBS News confirmed that Sharyl Attkisson’s computer was hacked by “an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions.”

CBS News announced Friday that correspondent Sharyl Attkisson’s computer was hacked by “an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions,” confirming Attkisson’s previous revelation of the hacking.

CBS News spokeswoman Sonya McNair said that a cybersecurity firm hired by CBS News “has determined through forensic analysis” that “Attkisson’s computer was accessed by an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions in late 2012.”

“Evidence suggests this party performed all access remotely using Attkisson’s accounts. While no malicious code was found, forensic analysis revealed an intruder had executed commands that appeared to involve search and exfiltration of data. This party also used sophisticated methods to remove all possible indications of unauthorized activity, and alter system times to cause further confusion. CBS News is taking steps to identify the responsible party and their method of access.”

Of course, Team Obama will know nothing about this, nothing at all.

Officials instructed Benghazi hospital to list Stevens as “John Doe”

Via CBS News and Sharyl Attkisson

U.S. officials gave instructions for Benghazi Medical Center to use a “John Doe” pseudonym on the death certificate of Ambassador Christopher Stevens after he died of asphyxiation in the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. That’s according to a U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity because the official isn’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter. The reason for the pseudonym, says the official, was to avoid drawing undue attention to the importance of the victim as Americans rushed to figure out how to recover Stevens’ body and return it to the U.S.

The official provided the most complete accounting yet of Stevens’ whereabouts and passing in the eight and a half months since his death.

According to the official, U.S. officials aren’t certain to this day whether Stevens was still alive when local Libyans made cell phone video recordings of his body being carried or dragged from the U.S. mission, possibly by looters. And they still don’t know exactly who transported him to the Benghazi Medical Center where they say medical personnel attempted resuscitation, unsuccessfully, for about 40 minutes (90 minutes, according to published accounts from a Libyan doctor). When pieced together with previously provided information, this is how the search for Stevens is said to have unfolded, according to the official:

Things are hard out there for serious journalists like Sharyl Attkisson

Lonely Conservative has more

Emmy award winning reporter Sharyl Attkisson has been battling not only the Obama administration over the coverage of the Benghazi scandal, but also her own bosses at CBS News. This was pointed out by Politico in response to a WaPo piece.

Farhi’s piece places Attkisson in a David-vs.-Goliath narrative, wherein the Obama administration is Goliath: “Attkisson, who holds a third-degree black belt in taekwondo, takes a fighting stance when she feels she’s being stonewalled. Which is exactly what she thinks the White House has done to her on Benghazi,” Farhi writes.

But from where Attkisson is sitting, there are actually two Goliaths, one of which is almost entirely absent from the Post profile.

The second Goliath is CBS News, which has grown increasingly frustrated with Attkisson’s Benghazi campaign. CBS News executives see Attkisson wading dangerously close to advocacy on the issue, network sources have told POLITICO. Attkisson can’t get some of her stories on the air, and is thus left feeling marginalized and underutilized. That, in part, is why Attkisson is in talks to leave CBS ahead of contract, as POLITICO reported in April. (Read More)

Shameful!

Clap on, Clap off, James Clapper deleted terrorism from Susan Rice talking points

The Lonely Conservative has the scoop

Just out from CBS, sources are saying that the Director of National Intelligence was the office responsible for editing the talking points.

CBS News) WASHINGTON – CBS News has learned that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) cut specific references to “al Qaeda” and “terrorism” from the unclassified talking points given to Ambassador Susan Rice on the Benghazi consulate attack – with the agreement of the CIA and FBI. The White House or State Department did not make those changes.

Clearly CBS is trying its best to insulate Obama from culpability and deflect the real issue to make it sound like this is really not a scandal. CBS does not do that good a job at that with this news:

However, an intelligence source tells CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan the links to al Qaeda were deemed too “tenuous” to make public, because there was not strong confidence in the person providing the intelligence. CIA Director David Petraeus, however, told Congress he agreed to release the information — the reference to al Qaeda — in an early draft of the talking points, which were also distributed to select lawmakers.

“The intelligence community assessed from the very beginning that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.” DNI spokesman Shawn Turner tells CBS News. That information was shared at a classified level — which Rice, as a member of President Obama’s cabinet, would have been privy to.

An intelligence source says the talking points were passed from the CIA to the DNI, where the substantive edits were made, and then to FBI, which made more edits as part of “standard procedure”.

Something stinks here. David Patraeus testified that he did not know who removed the mentions of terrorism that he approved of, so it seems unlikely that the CIA approved of the changes. The Lonely Conservative also notes that editing of the information was not just about editing out

What CBS conveniently leaves out is that while the DNI edited out terrorists from the talking points, the DNI is not being blamed for editing IN the idea that a protest occurred and violence was the fault of a video. Petraeus made it clear last week that the CIA knew there was no protest and the violence was not related to an escalating protest due to the video. The CIA knew from the beginning that this was an organized terrorist attack. CBS also makes it clear that even Rice was aware the CIA suspected it to be a terrorist attack.

All the media is trying to do here is again change the subject. The subject is why security was pulled from Libya, why the Ambassador had to go to Benghazi (a known terrorist hot bed) without security to meet a Turkish official, and why the administration blamed a video that no one in the intelligence community ever blamed.

So, basically, we are back to what we already know. The powers that be knew very early this was a terror attack, and not a protest. We know it had nothing to do with a video, and we know Team Obama bent over backwards to delete the truth and instead blame a video. The Director of National Intelligence is James Clapper, and he may get thrown under the bus, but I would not imagine that he took out the references to terrorism without being told to do so. For whatever reason (election) Team Obama did not want to admit that their sloppy handling of security had allowed a terror attack. Maybe Obama wanted his “Al Qaeda is on the run” line to go unchallenged. Maybe he did not want this to hurt his campaign, either way, this is looking progressively worse.

Well, isn’t that special!

The Other McCain notes that CBS News has suddenly come across the CIA talking points given to Susan Rice prior to her Sunday Morning Show World Tour. Nothing fishy here right?

A suspiciously timely scoop:

CBS News has obtained the CIA talking points given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on Sept. 15 regarding the fatal attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, four days earlier. CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan says the talking points, which were also given to members of the House intelligence committee, make no reference to terrorism being a likely factor in the assault, which left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.
Rice . . . has been attacked by Republican lawmakers for saying . . . on Sept. 16 that all indications were the attack “began spontaneously” – suggesting it likely sprang from a protest against an anti-Muslim video found on the Internet. Protests of that nature had been seen in other Muslim nations in the days and weeks before the Benghazi attack.
“Available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault… There are indications that extremists participated,” read the CIA’s talking points

Convenient it it, since Obama just said yesterday, in his press conference that Rice only gave the information she had at the time. Ed Morrissey ponders that question

Why wouldn’t she have had access to other information?  Because Rice had no operational responsibility for anything other than relations with the United Nations.  So why did the “White House,” as Obama put it yesterday, ask her to go on five talk shows on Sunday to impart this story to the media and the public?  That request had to come from Obama himself, and it bypassed other more likely candidates for that assignment such as Tom Donilon, James Clapper, Hillary Clinton, or David Petraeus, all of whom had some responsibility for the incident.  And here’s a related question — why didn’t those five media outlets raise that very question when the “White House” offered Rice as a spokesperson for that explanation?  Didn’t that seem even a little curious – especially when the Libyan President was saying exactly the opposite?

More pass the blame from Team Obama

CBS News: Key task force not convened during Benghazi consulate attack

Even more damning news that paints this president as incompetent, and perhaps even worse, the main stream media might finally be waking up

CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG).

“The CSG is the one group that’s supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies,” a high-ranking government official told CBS News. “They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon.”

Information shared with CBS News from top counterterrorism sources in the government and military reveal keen frustration over the U.S. response on Sept. 11, the night ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 other Americans were killed in a coordinated attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya.

The circumstances of the attack, including the intelligence and security situation there, will be the subject of a Senate Intelligence Committee closed hearing on Nov. 15, with additional hearings to follow.

Counterterrorism sources and internal emails reviewed by CBS News express frustration that key responders were ready to deploy, but were not called upon to help in the attack.

Go read the rest, the story told paints this administration as buffoons who either had no inclination to send help, or, had no clue what to do. Nothing could speak any louder as to why this president is not capable of his job as Commander-in-Chief.

H/T to The Other McCain, who has some more including an angry statement from Fred Thompson

He never raised his voice, but he was clearly angry and, when it was over, it was obvious that Fred had definitely made news:

Former Sen. Fred Thompson today said he was “totally disgusted” by the Obama administration’s handling of the Libya terrorist attack, saying that U.S. officials failed to act “while our people were being systematically slaughtered” at the Benghazi consulate.
Speaking at an event sponsored by the free-market group Americans for Prosperity, the former Republican senator from Tennessee invoked his experience nearly 40 years ago as a Watergate investigator, saying that Congress must “get to the bottom of” the administration’s failures in the Sept. 11 incident that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead in Libya.
“This is probably the biggest cover-up in American history – and you’re talking to an expert in cover-ups,” Thompson said. . . .

One of the worst mistakes this nation ever made was electing Obama in 2008, a nation voting on emotion failed to consider substance. Exit question. Do you think that a President Thompson might have handled Benghazi a tad differently? McCain, writing at the American Spectator has more of Thompson’s remarks

“There are three scandals here – before, during and after,” Thompson told about 40 people gathered for the AFP event at the Mariners Hall in the Cincinnati suburb of West Chester. Citing the numerous incidents and warnings leading up to the assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on the 11th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, Thompson mockingly asked, “What was your first hint that there might be trouble in Libya?”

Thompson commented on reports that administration officials refused to approve U.S. air strikes to defend the embattled Benghazi compound because of concerns about civilian casualties.

“You’re outside our embassy while it’s being attacked? Fair game, buddy,” said Thompson

Obama Administration Withdrew 16 Member Special Forces Security Team From Libya One Month Before Attack

Gateway Pundit has the bombshell

The Obama State Department withdrew a 16 member special forces team from Benghazi one month before the deadly attacks on 9-11. Lt. Col. Andy Wood was the leader of the 16 member special forces team whose job it was to protect US personnel in Libya. His team’s mission ended in August a month before the deadly Al-Qaeda attack on 9-11. A six member mobile security team was also withdrawn around the same time. This was despite the fact that there were over a dozen attacks in the country this year. Lt. Col. Wood was subpoenaed to appear at a House committee hearing this coming week. Wood told CBS News it was unbelievable to him that the State Department withdrew security when they did because of the 13 security incidents before 9-11.

Here is the video

Incompetence on a level I cannot begin to fathom.

NCAA hammer to fall on Penn State tomorrow at 9AM

Word is that Penn State is pretty much screwed

The NCAA has called a 9 a.m. ET Monday press conference to address the situation in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. CBS News reported earlier Sunday that the NCAA will hit Penn State with “unprecedented” penalties. A source confirmed that for CBSSports.com. There are indications that the penalties could be so unique and severe they would be different than any previously applied by the NCAA.

CBSSports.com has also learned that the penalties could last beyond one season. The NCAA on Sunday said that it will levy “corrective and punitive actions” against the school. A person with knowledge of the process said there is a way to impact Penn State’s competitive ability in football without applying the so-called “death penalty.” That term could be mere semantics by the time the NCAA sanctions are announced according to a source. Penn State, the source said, may prefer the death penalty.

But even if the NCAA stops short of shutting down the program and docks Penn State several scholarships, critics have wondered where NCAA president Mark Emmert would get the authority. His letter to acting president Rodney Erickson in November putting Penn State on notice of a possible investigation seemingly departed from NCAA investigative procedure.

“How many other athletics department employees have there been [at other schools] that engaged in criminal activity and the NCAA has done nothing about?” said a person familiar with the NCAA process.

God bless Israel, and God bless Mossad

Via Weasel Zippers

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new book claims Israel’s spy agency dispatched assassins into Iran, as part of a campaign to sabotage the country’s disputed nuclear program.

Israeli operatives have killed at least four Iranian nuclear scientists, including targeting them with operatives on motorcycles, an assassination technique used by the Israeli spy service, the Mossad, according to authors Dan Raviv and Yossi Melman in their book to be published July 9, “Spies Against Armageddon: Inside Israel’s Secret Wars”.

The Mossad agents “excel at accurate shooting at any speed and staying steady to shoot and to place exquisitely shaped sticky bombs” and consider it their hallmark, Raviv said Friday during an interview with both authors.

The hits are part of a series of regular missions deep inside Iran, intended to keep Tehran from developing weapons and following through with threats by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to wipe Israel off the map. U.S. officials have said in the past that they were not involved, and they don’t know who did it.

The U.S. and Israel accuse Iran of seeking nuclear weapons, a charge Tehran denies.

Iran has long blamed the scientists’ killings on Israel, which has remained silent on the matter, but media reports speculated Israel had contracted killers to do the job.

“They don’t farm out a mission that is that sensitive,” so sensitive that Israel’s prime minister has to sign off on it personally, Raviv said. “They might use dissidents for assistance or logistics but not the hit itself. The methodology and training and use of motorcycles is all out of the Mossad playbook. They wouldn’t trust anybody else to do it.”

The Mossad operatives enter and exit Iran through a “multitude” of routes, using a series of safe houses once inside the country that predate the 1979 revolution, the authors said.

In Friday’s interview, co-author Melman said Israel believes the campaign successfully disrupted Iran’s nuclear program not only by taking out key scientists but also dissuading other up-and-coming scholars from joining the program.

Raviv is a CBS News correspondent, and Melman is a well-known Israeli reporter and commentator.

Video- George Zimmerman’s brother speaks out

Via American Power

Be sure to check Althouse, “‘You return force with force when somebody assaults you. George was out of breath, he was barely conscious‘.”

Also at CNN, “Brother: Medical records will prove George Zimmerman’s story” (via Memeorandum)

In the interest of fairness, REAL fairness, not the fake fairness of the Left, I link the Daily Caller which has this report

Several new interviews with individuals close to the Feb. 26 Trayvon Martin shooting case offer fresh details about the possibility that George Zimmerman was the aggressor in the much-debated tragedy.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain who called 911 to report that the 17-year-old Martin seemed out of place in his Sanford, Fla. neighborhood, later shot the unarmed teen after what his lawyer has claimed was a physical struggle that Martin initiated by punching him in the nose and slamming his head on the pavement. Supporters of Martin claim Zimmerman was the aggressor and killed him without justification.

Richard Kurtz, the funeral director who prepared Martin’s body for burial, revealed to CBS News that he saw no bodily injuries on the youth that would indicate a physical struggle with Zimmerman.

“We could see no physical signs like there had been a scuffle [or] there had been a fight,” said Kurtz. “The hands — I didn’t see any knuckles, bruises or what have you. And that is something we would have covered up if it would have been there.”

Wyblog: Are 41% of Americans really this stupid?

According to this poll, yes. Or perhaps, as Chris notes, maybe it is not stupidity, but partisanship at work. Of course, if you are so partisan that you deny reality maybe you are just stupid.

But the Real Story is that 41% of Americans are so blindly partisan, and/or sand-poundingly stupid, they still believe Barry is doing a good job.

President Obama’s approval rating has hit the lowest level ever in CBS News polling, according to the latest CBS News/New York Times survey.

Just 41 percent of Americans approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, according to the poll, conducted from March 7 to 11. Another 47 percent disapprove of his performance, up from 41 percent last month.

Perhaps the missing 12% are the folks Obama’s labor department refuses to count in their unemployment statistics. They’re inconvenient, so they’re invisible.

Whenever I see a poll like that I wonder one thing. Who the hell are these people who actually think Obama is doing a good job? What could possibly make them give the president a thumbs up? Again, as Chris says, it is stupidity or partisanship. There is no stat that anyone can find to indicate President Obama is doing well.

Yes, Fast and Furious was meant to force more gun control on America

It is not surprising is it? We heard for weeks from Team Obama that guns used by Mexican drug cartels were coming from America, and that our “lax gun laws” were at fault. Then, we learn that a government agency was basically forcing gun store owners to sell large amounts of weapons to straw purchasers for drug cartels. Now, The Lonely Conservative has the obvious news. It was all about gun control

There’s been speculation that the Democrats would use the Operation Fast and Furious debacle as a way to push for tougher gun laws. In fact, it’s already begun, at least for those democrats who are even aware of it. Now there’s evidence that the ATF planned to use the reckless and illegal operation to push for new rules for gun sales.

Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation “Fast and Furious” to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales.

PICTURES: ATF “Gunwalking” scandal timeline

In Fast and Furious, ATF secretly encouraged gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels to go after the “big fish.” But ATF whistleblowers told CBS News and Congress it was a dangerous practice called “gunwalking,” and it put thousands of weapons on the street. Many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. Two were found at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

ATF officials didn’t intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3″. That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.

On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF’s Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:

“Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.”

As I have said, Democrats still hate the 2nd amendment. This also points out that Democrats will use any “tragedy”, even if they have to create one, to shove their agenda down our throats. Every one of these people who took part in this ought to be booted out of office, and possibly charged and tried.

Rubio: America’s Problem Is Debt, Not Debt Limit – CBS News Video

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) spoke with Bob Schieffer on what he truly feels caused the country’s current debt crisis and the provisions he feels necessary to be included in a compromise for him to vote on raising the debt ceiling.

Your quote of the day

From Stacy McCain comes this nugget of blogging greatness

Damn it, when are you ignorant people going to wake up and recognize the moral superiority of your liberal overlords?

Nearly six in 10 Americans say the country’s heated political rhetoric is not to blame for the Tucson shooting rampage that left six dead and critically wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, according to a CBS News poll. . . .
Overall, 57 percent of respondents said the harsh political tone had nothing to do with the shooting, compared to 32 percent who felt it did. Republicans were more likely to feel the two were unrelated – 69 percent said rhetoric was not to blame . . .

Isn’t it about time that 57% of you admit you have blood on your hands? Don’t you realize how much more enlightened and tolerant those 32% are? How are we ever going to “tone down the rhetoric” is you refuse to admit that Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh were responsible for this atrocity?

Once again, proof that most Americans just do not get Liberals. And Liberals, well, they just do not get anything!
