79-Year-Old Calls Police, Says He Hasn’t Eaten In Two Days. The Response From Officers ‘Shocked’ Him – The Blaze

A 79-year-old Tennessee man was stunned by how members of his local police department responded over the weekend when he dialed 911 because he hadn’t eaten in two days.

.

.
WKRN-TV reported that the man, who asked the station to remain anonymous, hadn’t been able to eat after a caretaker allegedly stole his debit card the weekend before.

The 79-year-old called police for help on Saturday night – and their response is now getting national attention.

Five officers with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department drove to a local grocery store, purchased $160 of food from their own pockets and headed to the man’s home to stock up his kitchen.

.

.
When the officers arrived with the groceries, the man was astonished.

“I think he was shocked – at the amount of food that we bought and just the fact that it was there without question,” officer Nathan Bolton told WKRN.

.

.
“It’s difficult for us to see as police officers. We’re out here to take care of the public at large and that doesn’t always mean stopping a car. Sometimes it’s us doing little things like this,” officer Mark Billions echoed.

According to WKRN, the man has a fixed income and relies on his Social Security checks each month to make ends meet.

Officers were able to track down the man’s caretaker who allegedly stole his debit card and used it to make purchases at various stores. The woman, 36-year-old Tammy Brooks, was arrested the next day and charged with theft and fraudulent use of a debt card.

French Interior Minister Calls For Mosques To Be Shut Down

French Official Calls For Mosques To Be Shut Down – Right Scoop

.

.
The French Interior Minister said that more Mosques will have to be shut down in the wake of the awful terror strike.

From Huffington Post:
.

The interior minister of France has called for the dissolution of “mosques where hate is preached” following a string of attacks that left at least 129 people dead across Paris. Bernard Cazeneuve made the comments during an interview on French television, according to a report by MSNBC.

The minister has long been an advocate for addressing the concerns of the country’s five million Muslim residents, particularly after January’s attacks at the Charlie Hebdo office. But Cazeneuve has also made significant efforts to curb homegrown extremism. France increased surveillance at religious and cultural centers earlier this year and has been cracking down on supposed radicalization in prisons.

Around 7.5 percent of the country’s inhabitants are Muslim, but some 60 percent of prisoners are, according to a 2014 report.

France has also deported 40 imams – Islamic spiritual leaders – since 2012 for “preaching hatred.” Nearly a quarter of those deportations happened in the first six months of this year.

“Foreign preachers of hate will be deported [and their mosques] will be shut down,” Cazeneuve told Agence France-Presse earlier this year.

Now of course the liberals will howl and screech at the cessation of civil liberties, but after such a horrific attack that was obviously motivated by Islamic extremism, it’s hard to deny a civilization’s right to self-defense.

Trump Tells Morning Joe He Would Consider Shutting Down Mosques – Right Scoop

This morning, Donald Trump was interviewed by phone on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and said something that, of course, has started a cascade of hand-wringing and whining on Twitter: that he would shut down mosques. But is that what he said?
.

.
The Joe hosts were discussing the French stating that they would consider shutting down mosques that have “radical leadership” and that they can determine have “very specific ties’ to terror. Then Joe asks Trump’s opinion.
.

Joe: Donald Trump, the French are talking about that. Is that something that you would consider doing as President.

Trump: Well I would hate to do it but it’s something you’d have to strongly consider, because some of the ideas and some of the hatred, the absolute hatred is coming from these areas.

.
He adds:
.

It’s something that many people, not me, it’s something that many people are considering and many people are going to do.

.
Leading up to that point, Trump talked about how previously New York City was monitoring mosque activity but have stopped under De Blasio.

Contrary to the panic on Twitter, Trump did not say, “hey let’s go close all mosques everywhere and also burn down the Koran” or anything like that.

Any reasonable nation would consider monitoring and then shutting down any institution that was a recruitment center or intelligence center for domestic terror or a foreign enemy. It is called self-preservation. Trump’s words this morning on Morning Joe are just a reiteration of something that would be obvious to any idiot. But apparently, not to any lefty looking for their Nobel Prize for Sanctimony.

Just Hours After Obama Boasts About Historic Nuke Agreement, Iran’s Lead Negotiator Calls Him A Liar

Iran Accuses U.S. Of Lying About New Nuke Agreement – Washington Free Beacon

.

.
Just hours after the announcement of what the United States characterized as a historic agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, the country’s leading negotiator lashed out at the Obama administration for lying about the details of a tentative framework.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif accused the Obama administration of misleading the American people and Congress in a fact sheet it released following the culmination of negotiations with the Islamic Republic.

Zarif bragged in an earlier press conference with reporters that the United States had tentatively agreed to let it continue the enrichment of uranium, the key component in a nuclear bomb, as well as key nuclear research.

Zarif additionally said Iran would have all nuclear-related sanctions lifted once a final deal is signed and that the country would not be forced to shut down any of its currently operating nuclear installations.

Following a subsequent press conference by Secretary of State John Kerry – and release of a administration fact sheet on Iranian concessions – Zarif lashed out on Twitter over what he dubbed lies.

“The solutions are good for all, as they stand,” he tweeted. “There is no need to spin using ‘fact sheets’ so early on.”

Zarif went on to push back against claims by Kerry that the sanctions relief would be implemented in a phased fashion – and only after Iran verifies that it is not conducting any work on the nuclear weapons front.

Zarif, echoing previous comments, said the United States has promised an immediate termination of sanctions.

“Iran/5+1 Statement: ‘US will cease the application of ALL nuclear-related secondary economic and financial sanctions.’ Is this gradual?” he wrote on Twitter.

He then suggested a correction: “Iran/P5+1 Statement: ‘The EU will TERMINATE the implementation of ALL nuclear-related economic and financial sanctions’. How about this?”

The pushback from Iran’s chief diplomat follows a pattern of similar accusations by senior Iranian political figures after the announcement of previous agreements.

Following the signing of an interim agreement with Iran aimed at scaling back its nuclear work, Iran accused the United States of lying about details of the agreement.

On Thursday evening, Zarif told reporters the latest agreement allows Iran to keep operating its nuclear program.

“None of those measures” that will move to scale back Iran’s program “include closing any of our facilities,” Zarif said. “We will continue enriching; we will continue research and development.”

“Our heavy water reactor will be modernized and we will continue the Fordow facility,” Zarif said. “We will have centrifuges installed in Fordow, but not enriching.”

The move to allow Iran to keep centrifuges at Fordow, a controversial onetime military site, has elicited concern that Tehran could ramp up its nuclear work with ease.

Zarif said that once a final agreement is made, “all U.S. nuclear related secondary sanctions will be terminated,” he said. “This, I think, would be a major step forward.”

Zarif also revealed that Iran will be allowed to sell “enriched uranium” in the international market place and will be “hopefully making some money” from it.

Parent Calls 911 After Public School Won’t Release Kid From Common Core Test

Common Core Kidnapping: Parent Calls 911 After Public School Won’t Release Kid From Test – Daily Caller

.

.
Supporters of Common Core have encountered a public relations nightmare recently thanks to technical glitches, student boycotts and a slew of irate parents who are refusing to allow their children to sit for standardized tests.

However, last week marked the first time officials at a taxpayer-funded school have allegedly attempted to confine a student for a Common Core standardized test after her parent arrived on campus to remove the child from class.

The incident occurred at Brookshire Elementary School in Winter Park, Fla., reports the Orlando Sentinel.

The unidentified mother showed up at Brookshire Elementary to pick up her daughter because she wanted to opt the fifth grader out of a Common Core-aligned writing test.

School officials informed the mother that they would not allow her daughter to leave, according to the mother as well as a second parent, Jacqui Myers, who was at the school.

Myers, the parent of a first-grade student, was on the scene at Brookshire Elementary because she is politically active in the local movement to opt students out of Common Core-mandated tests.

“They’re not giving me my child, can you help?” the mother of the fifth grader told Myers, according to the Sentinel.

Myers responded by calling 911.

An emergency responder notified police. The Winter Park Police Department dispatched a school district resource officer to Brookshire Elementary.

Brookshire principal Susan Mulchrone then arranged for the fifth-grade girl to appear in the school’s administrative office so she could leave with her mother, according to school district spokeswoman Shari Bobinski.

Mulchrone’s concern, Bobinski said, was that the girl and other students had been engaged in Florida Standards Assessments testing for a full 20 minutes. They were in the midst of writing standardized test essays.

“We do not hold children if parents come to pick them up,” Bobinski swore to the Sentinel.

Myers, the anti-testing parent, told the newspaper she had seen four parents come by to pick up their children – successfully – before the fifth-grade girl’s mother had her encounter with school officials.

Myers also noted that Mulchrone, the principal, had previously emailed parents to inform them that they could not pick up their own children during the standardized testing period because it could prove disruptive.

Florida state law requires public school students to participate in the Common Core-aligned tests.

Parents who want their students to opt out have organized. They have told their children to break the seals on their test booklets or log into computer-adaptive tests, but then decline to answer any questions or write anything.

The rollout of new Common Core-mandated standardized tests around the country has run into a series of embarrassing but predictable problems, as schools have grappled with both technical glitches and a growing movement of hostile parents who refuse to let their children take the tests – which are now being administered for the first time in several states.

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 currently requires that 95 percent of students take various statewide standardized tests.

Last week, the Ohio Department of Education announced that its taxpayer-funded school districts won’t suffer financial penalties if students refuse to participate in Common Core-mandated standardized tests.

In New Mexico, several hundred high schoolers attracted national attention when they walked out of class to protest the exams.

New Jersey is facing a deluge of anti-standardized test hooky.

In 2014, Florida education officials announced plans to fool everybody by rebranding Common Core as the “Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.”

Special Needs School Principal Curses At Students; Calls Them Names (Video)

‘Retard, Animals!’ New York Principal Caught On Tape Screaming Abuse At Special Needs Students – Raw Story

.

.
A vulgar, abusive rant by the principal of a school for special needs kids was caught on tape and is sending shock waves through the community of Haverstraw, New York.

Channel 7 Eyewitness News reported that Hilltop School principal Kimberly Taylor’s angry, expletive-laden outburst was recorded by a former teaching assistant.

Hilltop School is a kindergarten through 8th grade school for kids with learning and behavioral issues. Kenneth Egan worked at Hilltop as a teaching assistant until he began to complain to the superintendent of the Rockland County School District about how principal Taylor treats the children in her care.

In the tape, Taylor can be heard berating the children ahead of a graduation ceremony.

“It’s important you’re on your best behavior,” she is heard saying. “If someone falls in dance, don’t laugh because I will rip your [expletive] out of there. It’s important not to embarrass yourself. Your family take pride in yourself. I will embarrass you, you all know me, if you don’t give a [expletive], neither do I.”

“‘Cause guess what,” she said, “everyone knows this school is for kids that have behavior problems, so it will be a normal thing if we drag you down and pull you out.”

Egan told Channel 7, “I’ve seen her grab kids, push kids, throw kids.”

He said that two students got into a scuffle during a graduation rehearsal, which triggered the principal’s shouting jag.

Dragging one of the two students in front of the assembly, Taylor can be heard saying, “This is a retard. How embarrassing, a disgusting embarrassment, get him the hell out of my sight.”

In another recording, the principal can be heard insulting a male student who has fallen down.

“Get your (expletive) up and be a man,” Taylor said. “God, for God’s sake, you animals, some of you.”

The school district superintendent’s office said in a statement, “The situation occurred more than three years ago. It involved a personnel matter that was addressed at that time. We maintain an outstanding academic program.”

Egan’s attorney Randolph McLaughlin told Channel 7, “The fact that nothing was done, that no one disciplined this principal, that she’s still on the job, and Mr. Egan, who only tried to bring this to attention of higher-ups, he gets fired for it, that’s an outrage.”

Cell Phone Thief Calls Cops To Complain That Her Victim Won’t Stop Following Her

Police: Robber Calls Cops Because Victim Won’t Leave Her Alone – KOMO

.
…………

.
If she had to do it all over again, a suspected cellphone thief probably wouldn’t call the police to complain that her victim was following her and refusing to leave her alone. But, you know what they say about hindsight.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the 20-year-old suspect called 911 around 4 p.m. Saturday from a gas station parking lot in the 6600 block of Martin Luther King Junior Way South. She said a man was following her and accusing her of taking his phone.

Officers arrived to find the suspect standing with a 21-year-old man, who had multiple cuts and bruises.

According to police, the suspect told officers she and her boyfriend were sitting near the 21-year-old on a Metro bus when he woke up from a nap, accused them of stealing his cellphone and attacked them as they ran from the bus.

But according to the 21-year-old, that’s not quite how it happened. He told officers he was sitting on the bus with his eyes closed when suddenly the music he had been listening to stopped. He opened his eyes to see the suspect and a man with his phone.

The 21-year-old said he asked the couple to return his phone only to have them punch and kick him in the head. He told officers the couple ran off the bus,, and he followed them. He said the other man kept running, while the suspect stopped to call 911.

According to police, the suspect denied taking the victim’s phone until officers noticed a phone-shaped bulge in her pocket. Officers reportedly found both the victim’s phone and three grams of crack on the suspect.

She was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery and drug possession.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Elderly Man Who Called For Ambulance For Sick Wife Gets Crap Beat Out Of Him By Cops

Elderly Man Calls For Ambulance For Wife, Gets Beaten By Police – Daily Dose

.

.
A Humansville, MO resident got some inhumane treatment from his local police department. Elbert Breshears, 78, called for an ambulance when his wife, who suffers from dementia, was having an episode. The police arrived first and things heated up in a hurry. The video has some commentary that lasts for 14 seconds, it isn’t me but that was the only version of the video available on YouTube.

Breshears details how he and his wife were standing at the edge of his yard, next to the road, talking and waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Her episode involved her waving an arm and calling for help. She was doing that when the police showed up and her husband had his back to the direction the officers came from.

Breshears said he was holding on to his wife’s right arm, talking to her when suddenly an officer knocked him to the ground. The officer then told him to get up, and Breshears said he told the officer that he couldn’t.

.

.
Breshears reports that the officers then took him, one by each arm, lifting him up and throwing him into a gravel area. He said one of the officers sat on his back, at waist level and the other sat on his head.

They were trying to handcuff him and he says he told them he can’t physically get his arms into that position, if they’ll let him up they can cuff him, saying “I’ve got no objection to being handcuffed,” he just can’t get there from the position he was in.

That’s when the paramedics arrived and the couple was transported to the hospital. Breshears had to have gravel dug out of his head at the hospital and required stitches.

Breshears says, “I didn’t know what to think, I’ve never had nobody come up on me for doing nothing. You can’t talk to the officers, they won’t talk to you.”

As if to prove his point, the reporter then details how she attempted to speak with both the police chief and the mayor and neither would talk to her. She was able to speak to the police chief on the phone; he restricted his comments to a statement of the charges against Breshears: Elder Abuse, Refusing Arrest, and Assaulting a Police Officer.

Mr. Breshears told the reporter, “I don’t hit my wife, I’ve been with her forty something years, I love the woman. She can’t help what she does.” He continued, “That’s what I was trying to do was do my job, and this is what I got for it.”

Breshears is looking for a lawyer to press his case against the city.

Likely Obama Voter Calls 911 Because The Zipper On His Wife’s Jacket Got Stuck (Audio)

Man Calls 9-1-1 For Wife’s Jammed Zipper – WorldNetDaily

.
…………

.
An emergency call about a stuck zipper takes the top prize this week in the Washington County, Oregon, dispatch agency’s “You called 9-1-1 for that?!” campaign.

A man called 9-1-1 because the zipper was stuck on his wife’s coat and she could not get it off. The man told the dispatcher he didn’t want to ruin the coat and needed help.

Listen to the 9-1-1 call:

.

.
OPERATOR: 9-1-1 police, fire and medical.

CALLER: Yeah we got a problem here. My wife is struggling in her jacket and can’t get it off. I want 9-1-1 here immediately.

OPERATOR: Is she not breathing?

CALLER: She’s alright, she just can’t get her [expletive] jacket off.

Mark Chandler, a spokesman for the dispatch center, said the fire department responded and removed the jacket without damaging it.

Each week, the agency posts the “most ridiculous use of 9-1-1″ winner on the their Facebook page and Twitter account. The campaign’s goal is to educate people on the proper use of the emergency service, according to the Oregonian newspaper.

The callers’ voices are electronically distorted to conceal their identities.

IRS “Customer Service” Leaves Nearly Twenty Million Calls Unanswered

IRS Customer Service Leaves Millions Of Calls Unanswered – Fox News

.

.
Have a question on your tax returns? Don’t ask the IRS.

As tax day looms, an annual watchdog report to Congress finds that the agency is falling short when it comes to answering Americans’ questions about the convoluted tax code.

The National Taxpayer Advocate found only 61 percent of people seeking to speak with a customer service representative last year got through to anybody – leaving nearly 20 million calls unanswered.

The report largely blamed budget cuts, and lamented the impact the poor customer service is having on taxpayers.

“At the risk of vast understatement, it is a sad state of affairs when the government writes tax laws as complex as ours – and then is unable to answer any questions beyond ‘basic’ ones from baffled citizens who are doing their best to comply,” the report from National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson said.

The study detailed how customer service has steadily declined over the past several years, including at its 400 “walk-in sites.” In fiscal 2014, the office said, the IRS will only answer “basic” questions at those sites during filing season. And it will not answer any questions, “even basic ones,” after April, even for filers who got extensions.

“In addition, the IRS will discontinue its longstanding practice of preparing tax returns for low income, elderly and disabled taxpayers who seek help,” the report said.

With the erosion in services, wait times have gone up. In fiscal 2004, callers were left on hold for just 2.6 minutes. Today, the average wait time is nearly 18 minutes.

Some taxpayers resort to writing letters to the IRS with their questions. The agency received 8.4 million such letters last year, but more than half were not answered by the end of fiscal 2013, the report said.

The problems stems in large part from budget cuts. The training budget has, according to the report, gone from $172 million a few years ago to $22 million. The workforce itself has fallen from 95,000 full-time workers to 87,000.

“Thus, the IRS not only has fewer employees than four years ago, but those who remain are less equipped to perform their jobs,” the report said.

As the IRS is reluctant, like other agencies, to simply lay off employees in the face of budget cuts, it has targeted areas like training for cuts.

Woman Repeatedly Calls 911 To Report “Drunk People Inside Bar”

Woman Repeatedly Calls 911 To Report “Drunk People Inside Bar” – Weekly Vice

Mary Jaggers of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida has been jailed after she allegedly called 911 to report that there were drunk people inside the bar she was visiting.

.
…………………

According to police, Jaggers called 911 six different times to complain that there were drunk people inside Artie’s Sportsman Lounge.

Arriving officers spoke with Jaggers, who demanded the arrest of everyone inside the bar. A pat down search, however, revealed that she was in possession of hydrocodone without a prescription.

Jaggers was taken into custody and no other arrests were made.

At her arraignment hearing on Tuesday, Jagger told the judge that she repeatedly called police to prevent anyone from driving home drunk.

“I have a feeling that the mixture between Artie’s Bar and the hydrocodone probably led to count two, the calling of 911,” said Judge Hurley during the hearing.

Jaggers was booked into jail and charged with misuse of 911 and possession of hyrocodone without a prescription.

Following Cruz Filibuster, GOP Bosses Unplug Their Phones As Conservatives Inundate Them With Calls

Meltdown! GOP Bosses’ Phones Unplugged – WorldNetDaily

Following the epic, 21-hour speech by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, supporting the defunding of Obamacare, either voters made so many calls to establishment Republicans that their phone lines melted, or those GOP leaders took their phones off the hook.

.

Even in this age of digital wizardry and limitless voicemail, callers could not get through at all to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

A message said the senator was experiencing a high volume of calls and directed members of the public to call back later or visit his website.

It was the same story with the man who was the face of the GOP in the 2008 elections, former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

His phone was off the hook, too. Callers got a message stating his voicemail box was full.

The Arizona senator apparently had other matters on his mind during the Cruz speech, tweeting, “Final episode of #Broadchurch tonight – one of the most entertaining shows on TV right now.”

That prompted conservative commentator Michelle Malkin to tweet, “Meanwhile, McCain is tweeting about a TV show. See the problem here, America?”

Callers to Minority Whip Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, also got a message saying the line was busy, but at least those callers were sent to voicemail.

“Vile” calls from Cruz supporters

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who has called Cruz a “fraud” for his efforts to defund Obamacare, said Thursday supporters of the Texas senator have been bombarding his office with “vile” phone calls.

“The vehemence of the phone calls coming into the office. I don’t care, people can call me whatever they want… I haven’t heard such vile, profane, obscene language,” King said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday.

“I’m not saying Ted Cruz is responsible for all his supporters, but he has tapped into a dark strain here in the American political psyche here, and again, the most obscene, profane stuff you can imagine all from people who say they support the Constitution,” King said. “I think what we have to do is reach out to his people and let them know that they’re following a false leader here.”

GOP leader opposes defunding

McConnell announced Monday he does not support the attempt by Cruz to defund Obamacare.

The GOP Senate leader claimed he opposes Obamacare, but he refused to support Cruz’s effort to block a vote on cloture, which effectively doomed the House bill that would have defunded Obamacare.

McConnell would have needed to get only 41 out of 46 Republican senators to vote to block cloture, but he would not support the effort.

He, and other establishment Republicans, fear they would take the blame for any government shutdown, even though the House bill is specifically designed to force Democrats to be the ones to shut down the government, should they refuse to defund Obamacare.

Neither party supporting Americans

That puts most Americans in the odd position of having neither the Democratic Party, nor the Republican Party, supporting their position on Obamacare.

A CBS News poll found most Americans, 52 percent, disapprove of Obamacare.

Congressman-physician reveals Obamacare skeletons: Rep. Michael Burgess, a medical doctor for three decades, shows how to preserve top-quality care, cuts costs and reject socialism in his blockbuster book, “Doctor in the House: A Physician-Turned-Congressman Offers His Prescription for Scrapping Obamacare – and Saving America’s Medical System”

Democrats favor the health-care law because they consider it the president’s signature achievement.

Analysts believe GOP leaders refuse to mobilize their rank-and-file to fight Obamcare because they are afraid a government shutdown could cost them at the polls in the 2014 elections.

GOP leader blasted

Since McConnell directed his constituents to go to the Internet to express their views to him, WND went to his Facebook page to see what voters have to say.

At 1:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, McConnell posted this message on his Facebook page:

“All we need are 5 Senate Democrats to show enough courage to stand against their party and with the American people on this vote”

He got more than 100 responses, and almost all of them were extremely critical of the senator.

Only two messages supported McConnell.

Hard to do when you have your own party members bashing one of the few Republicans that really stand for Freedom and with the American Ppl. We’re on to ya’wl. We’ve about had enough.

It was difficult to tell if one comment supporting McConnell came from one of his constituents.

Jane Rivelli
Tell them Mitch… stop giving them pipe dreams

The other supportive comment merely read:

Oneta Nicholson Henry
Thank you Senator.

On Sept. 18, McConnell posted, “The only person who seems happy with Obamacare is the guy it’s named after.”

That received more than 4,000 responses, but they were also overwhelmingly critical of the senator.

McConnell was also heavily criticized on Twitter for not supporting Cruz during his speech.

Power of public opinion

Cruz is hoping for a more positive response from voters, hoping to harness the power of public opinion to persuade GOP leaders and wavering Democrats to defund Obamacare.

Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, have collected more than 1.7 million signatures on their online petition to stop Obamacare called “Don’t Fund It!

The next vote, Friday or Saturday, Cruz said, is “the vote that matters.”

Cloture explained

That’s a vote on cloture, a proposal to cut off debate, and it will determine whether there will be a 50- or a 60-vote threshold for making changes to the bill.

If it passes, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., could easily add language to the bill restoring funding for Obamacare, because he would need only 50 votes. Republicans have only 46 votes in the Senate, Democrats have 52 and there are two independents. Cruz wants to make sure the threshold to change the bill would be 60 votes.

Cruz said, if the GOP goes along with Democrats and votes for cloture it will doom the effort to defund Obamacare.

Up to the people, now

Following the Texan’s marathon speech, Lee’s communications director Brian Phillips told WND, “It’s up to the American people, now. If they want their senator to vote the right way, their senator has to hear from them.”

But if voters can’t call their senators because the phones are off the hook, they can contact them on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Or voters could try calling the senators at their home offices.

The Tea Party Express collected much of that contact information.

The Other Battle To Defund ObamaCare – TPNN

On Tuesday, Senator Ted Cruz began a filibuster of the worst law passed by the worst President in American history. He vowed to “speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand.” And after 21 hours on his feet, in the true fashion of an “anarchist,” as Harry Reid and the mainstream media smeared him, he politely followed parliamentary procedure, yielded the floor, and exited the Senate chamber.

The Senator knew there would come a time when he could no longer stand, but Cruz is from Texas, where you can find the Alamo, the Alamo Bowl, the Alamo Inn, the Alamo Economic Development Corporation, the North Alamo Elementary School, and the Alamo Bar and Grill. In other words, Cruz and his fellow Texans know a lot about what it means to stand boldly on principle even in the face of certain defeat.

What’s not as well known is that there’s another fight to defund Obamacare, and in this other fight, President Obama doesn’t get a veto. This is a fight completely within the reach of conservatives to win. But it’s a fight too many Republican governors are afraid to wage.

I’m talking about the decision every state government faces of whether to accept Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. Democrats wanted to coerce states into expanding their Medicaid programs to achieve his vision of universal health care, so the original version of Obamacare included a huge costly punishment of states that refused to expand Medicaid. In the Supreme Court’s Obamacare decision last year, it struck down as unconstitutional Obamacare’s plan to punish uncooperative states. Now, thanks to that court decision, every state has the option of rejecting the Medicaid expansion without the threat of any punishment from Obama.

Fortunately, about half the states have refused to expand Medicaid. Unfortunately, the remaining states include Republican governors. If you hate Obamacare, you should know who they are. It’s time to name names.

Republican Governors Jan Brewer of Arizona and Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota are the most egregious offenders. They represent states that voted for Mitt Romney – very red states where rejection of the Medicaid expansion would come at little-to-no political cost for them. Those states’ constituents are conservative. It’s a shame that on this issue, their governors aren’t.

Five other Republican Governors are in the second-to-worst class of offenders. John Kasich of Ohio, Susana Martinez of New Mexico, Terry Branstad of Iowa, Brian Sandoval of Nevada, and Rick Scott of Florida lead states that George W. Bush was able to carry. These are not die-hard blue states, but their governors are acting like blue-state governors by accepting Obamacare’s invitation to expand Medicaid. (Florida’s legislature has thus far succeeded in blocking Scott’s attempt at expansion, but the same sadly can’t be said elsewhere.)

Let’s be clear about what’s at stake. The Medicaid expansion is absolutely central to Obamacare. It will cost federal taxpayers at least $800 billion over the next ten years. Obamacare raises taxes by $500 billion in order to (help) pay for the expansion. Although Obamacare’s individual mandate has attracted most of the attention, there’s nothing about Obamacare, from the perspective of those of us who think government taxes too much and spends too much, that is worse than the Medicaid expansion.

Republican Governors who want to expand Medicaid make two arguments. First, they say that a rejection of the Medicaid expansion in their states would mean that federal tax dollars from their citizens fund the expansion in other states. But that’s only true if there are other states that expand. If all 30 Republican governors joined with the Democratic governors of Montana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, and West Virginia (5 red states that voted for Romney), there would only be 15 states expanding Medicaid – which would save federal taxpayers in all 50 states hundreds of billions of dollars.

Second, at least one Republican Governor, John Kasich, has argued that rejecting the Medicaid expansion is un-Christian. Kasich told an interviewer that “we will be held accountable” by God for not expanding Medicaid because “the right way to live is to make sure that those who do not have the blessings that we have, those who are beleaguered, those who have fallen on hard times – we can’t ignore them. We have to help them. And we’re expected to do that, and I believe the Lord expects us to do that. And it’s spelled out pretty clearly in that Old and New Testament, consistently.”

Unlike John Kasich, I’ll let the Lord speak for himself, but I have three questions for Kasich and governors like him. If spending $800 billion by a government already $17 trillion in debt is actually some kind of Eleventh Commandment prescribed by the Almighty, as Reverend Kasich apparently believes, why did Kasich campaign in 2010 in favor of repealing all of Obamacare? Why did he support a suit by 26 states in 2011 challenging the Medicaid expansion’s legality? And since nothing in “that Old and New Testament” changed between then and his Come-to-Obama moment, what did?

As revealed this week, ICE employee Ayo Kimathi runs a website called ”War on the Horizon” which predicts a coming race war between blacks and whites.

Using the name Irritated Genie, Kimathi also has a You Tube account in which he presents videos of himself ranting on various topics. One of these clips, uploaded last May, is an anti-gay rant aimed at President Obama. Kimathi refers to President Obama as a “mulatto f–got” and then repeats the word a dozen more times.
