Obama Hiding Secret Letters To Foreign Governments Promising Not To Penalize Them For Doing Business With Iran

Senators: Obama Admin Hiding Secret Iran Deal Letters – Washington Free Beacon

.

.
Two leading U.S. senators are calling on the Obama administration to release secret letters to foreign governments assuring them that they will not be legally penalized for doing business with the Iranian government, according to a copy of a letter sent Wednesday to the State Department and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Sens. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) and Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) disclosed in the letter to the State Department that U.S. lawmakers have been shown copies of several letters sent by the Obama administration to the Chinese, German, French, and British governments assuring them that companies doing business with Iran will not come under penalty.

The Obama administration is purportedly promising the foreign governments that if Iran violates the parameters of a recently inked nuclear accord, European companies will not be penalized, according to the secret letters.

Congress became aware of these promises during closed-door briefings with the Obama administration and through documents filed by the administration under a law requiring full disclosure of all information pertaining to the accord.

The issue of sanctions on Iran has become a major issue on Capitol Hill in the weeks since the Obama administration agreed to a deal that permits Iran to enter the international community in exchange for temporarily constraining its nuclear program.

Iran will receive more than $150 billion in sanctions relief as part of the deal and many of its military branches will be removed from international sanctions designations.

“The documents submitted by the Administration to Congress include non-public letters that you sent to the French, British, German, and Chinese governments on the consequences of sanctions snap-back,” Kirk and Rubio wrote to Secretary of State John Kerry.

“These letters appear to reassure these foreign governments that their companies may not be impacted if sanctions are re-imposed in response to Iranian violations of the agreement,” they claim. “While Administration officials have claimed that this is not the case, we think it is important for the American public to be able to read your assurances to foreign governments for themselves as their elected representatives review this deal in the coming weeks.”

Kirk and Rubio are demanding that the Obama administration release these letters to the public so that the full nature of the White House’s backroom dealings are made known.

“We therefore request the Administration to publicly release these letters, which are not classified, so that the full extent of the Administration’s non-public assurances to European and Chinese governments can be discussed openly by Congress and analyzed by impartial outside experts,” they write.

“Given the conflicting interpretations hinted at by the deal’s various stakeholders, it would also ease congressional review of the deal if you were to receive assurances from the other members of the P5+1 about the guidance they will provide to companies about the inherent risks of investing in Iran due to Iran’s ongoing support for terrorism and use of its financial system for illicit activities and the potential for sanctions to snap back if Iran violates the nuclear agreement,” the letter states.

As Iranian companies and government entities are removed from sanctions lists, they will be permitted to do business on the open market. A number of governments, including the Russia and Italy, have already expressed interest in partnering with Iran.

U.S. lawmakers remain concerned that if Iran violates the nuclear accord, sanctions will not be reimposed in a meaningful way.

“The conditions under which foreign investment in Iran would proceed under the nuclear agreement remain unclear,” Kirk and Rubio wrote. “On July 23, 2015, Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that companies that have invested in Iran would ‘not be able to continue doing things that are in violation of the sanctions’ if sanctions snap back.”

“Foreign investment in Iran will involve long-term contracts in many cases, however, and some interpretations of the Iran agreement indicate these contracts might be protected from the snap-back of sanctions by a so-called ‘grandfather clause,’” they write.

Under the terms of the agreement, sanctions on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a paramilitary force known to commit acts of terrorism across the globe, will be lifted.

A multi-billion dollars financial empire belonging to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei also will be removed from sanctions lists, according to the parameters of the deal.

Not so fast, proggies!!! Just a few months later, that dude’s business is falling apart! LOL!

From Fox News:

Dan Price, 31, tells the New York Times that things have gotten so bad he’s been forced to rent out his house.

Only three months ago Price was generating headlines – and accusations of being a socialist – when he announced the new salary minimum for all 120 employees at his Gravity Payments credit card processing firm. Price said he was doing it, and slashing his $1 million pay package to pay for it, to address the wealth gap.

“I’m working as hard as I ever worked to make it work,” he told the Times in a video that shows him sitting on a plastic bucket in the garage of his house. “I’m renting out my house right now to try and make ends meet myself.”

The Times article said Price’s decision ended up costing him a few customers and two of his “most valued” employees, who quit after newer employees ended up with bigger salary hikes than older ones.

“He gave raises to people who have the least skills and are the least equipped to do the job, and the ones who were taking on the most didn’t get much of a bump,” Gravity financial manager Maisey McMaster, 26, told the paper.

She said when she talked to Price about it, he treated her as if she was being selfish and only thinking about herself.

“That really hurt me,” she said. “I was talking about not only me, but about everyone in my position.”

Approaching burnout, she quit.

Grant Moran, 29, also quit, saying the new pay-scale was disconcerting

“Now the people who were just clocking in and out were making the same as me,” he told the paper. “It shackles high performers to less motivated team members.”

Price said McMaster and Moran, or even critic Rush Limbaugh, the talk show host, were not wrong.

“There’s no perfect way to do this and no way to handle complex workplace issues that doesn’t have any downsides or trade-offs,” he said.

The Times said customers who left were dismayed at what Price did, viewing it as a political statement. Others left fearful Gravity would soon hike fees to pay for salary increases.

LOL! I LOVE IT! This is almost as good as the Seattle minimum wage debacle! I really can’t say which is more satisfying – if y’all want to debate in the comments, be my guest. Now excuse me, I have a glass of delicious liberal tears to enjoy.

Just kidding, that would probably be disease-ridden.

Scumbag Store Owner ‘Suspends’ Brave Clerk For Defending His Business With A Gun (Video)

Store Clerk ‘Suspended’ From Job After Using Gun To Halt Robbery – Breitbart

A 58-year-old store clerk and Vietnam War veteran was “suspended” from his job at Mac’s Convenience Store in Rutland, Vermont, after using a gun on June 15 to stop a knife-wielding man from robbing the business.

According to the Rutland Herald, clerk Don Pitaniello was getting ready “to close up” the business at about 9:30 p.m. “when a man wearing a hoodie and a bandana over his face entered the store and threatened him with a roughly 5-inch blade.”

Pitaniello said he has carried a gun “all his life,” so he was ready when the robber entered. He said the man in the hoodie showed the knife, asked him to “empty the register,” then began waving the knife in his face. Pitaniello responded by drawing his .380 handgun and “pointing it at the [robber’s] face.” He told robber to “get the (expletive) out of” the store and the robber complied.

Pitaniello has since been suspended and says he may lose his job but “[he] doesn’t care.” He said: “I’m a firm believer in having a gun and not needing it rather than the other way around. I can always find a new job.”

Nazi Stormtrooper Alert: Obama’s Lawless ATF Breaks Into Gun Parts Business And Seizes All Customer Records (Video)

Tyranny Alert: Obama’s Lawless ATF Breaks Into Private Business & Seizes All Customer Records (Video) – Gateway Pundit

Despite a judge’s restraining order… Obama’s lawless ATF still BREAKS INTO A PRIVATE BUSINESS TO SEIZES ALL CUSTOMER RECORDS.

The owner of a California store that sells gun parts to build rifles from scratch refused to turn over his customer list to federal officials.

So Obama’s ATF broke in and took all of the customer records anyway.

This video was taken on March 15, 2014, at National City Ares Armor location.

.

.
Here is background on the story from earlier this week.
FOX4KC reported:

The owner of an Oceanside store that sells various gun parts to build a rifle from scratch refused to turn over his customer list when he was raided by federal agents Wednesday.

Dimitrios Karras, owner of Ares Armor, said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were investigating their business, not for what they sell, but for the people who purchase their products.

Karras said the ATF threatened to shutter their business if they didn’t hand over the names of 5,000 customers who have purchased an 80 percent lower receiver (the base) for building an AR-15.

It is legal to build a rifle from scratch without serial numbers only if the base is manufactured to ATF specifications. The base is not considered a firearm if it’s sold separately.

A manufacturer made an 80 percent receiver in plastic with a different material and colors which show exactly where the customer can drill making it easier and cheaper to build. The ATF said it is illegal.

The ATF sent stores, including Ares Armor, letters demanding they turn over the products and names of customers who purchased them.

“They said either give us these 5000 names or we are coming in and taking pretty much anything – which is a huge privacy concern and something we are not willing to do,” said Karras.

Karras’s attorney informed the ATF to pick up the receivers Wednesday morning at their Oceanside location, but the inventory was not the issue. The store owner said he will not comply with turning over their private client list.

Bette Middler is a Babbling Idiot!

Good Freaking Grief at the things Liberals say!

Actress and singer Bette Midler is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most addle-minded personalities.

On Twitter Wednesday, she actually wrote, “Do you find it odd that in America today, it’s easier to take a life than to get health insurance?”

Do you find it odd that in America today, it’s easier to take a life than to get health insurance? Gun reform now!

All emotion, no logic!

Americans MUST stop placating whiners immediately

We now live in a nation that rewards whining, and malcontents. We live in a nation where people are afraid to stand up to those that make nuisances of themselves. This must stop, and it must stop now because if Asparagus can cause accusations of RAAAAACISM……

Via St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

A dried-out batch of asparagus has touched off a debate about racial discrimination, grocery stores and the role of citizen-led commissions.

It started in May when resident David Olander was perusing the produce section of the University City Schnucks. He noticed the asparagus weren’t resting in a tray of water.

“It was just sitting there dried out,” said Olander,a member of the city’s human relations commission.

Human relations commission? That is the first alarm for me. People who think up things like a human relations commission are, likely, not too bright, way too impressed with their own importance, and generally a gigantic pain in the ass. Besides wouldn’t the Department of Social Justice for Dried Out Asparagus be better able to handle this calamity?

Olander summoned an assistant manager, and then he asked the question: Did the quality of the asparagus have any relationship to the store’s location in a black neighborhood?

Because dry-asparagus = RAAAAACISM! Seriously, this clown takes himself way too seriously. What this was is a case of whoever was in charge of the produce section not paying attention.  How should such an issue be addressed? Find out who is working, show them what is wrong, have them correct it. But placating this whiner? No, it is time we all stood up against these bullies. Sure you might lose his business, but most business owners would consider that a blessing. I mean who wants Mr. Limp Asparagus snooping around your store finding imagined incidents of RAAAAACISM? I mean what would overly ripe bananas, or soft tomatoes be a sign of? That’s right RAAAAACISM! Instead, the grocery chain went wimpy.

Olander’s experience prompted him to write a letter to Schnucks CEO Scott Schnuck, and out of that came a meeting with Schnucks employees.

But the letter and meeting were tinged with allegations that the St. Louis area’s largest grocery chain was discriminating against minority communities — accusations that Schnucks vehemently denies. […]

Why encourage this buffoon? The CEO should have take the letter and threw it in the first waste basket he could find, but instead, this somehow led to  a meeting with employees. Good Freaking Grief! What is this country coming to?

Top 10 States For Business All Led By Republican Governors

Top 10 States For Business All Led By Republican Governors – Washington Examiner

Chief Executive magazine releases its ninth annual survey of CEO’s opinions about the best and worst states for business – and Republicans are governing in all of the top 10.

.

“In the minds of most leaders, a state’s friendliness is closely aligned with its tax and regulatory regime. Similarly, workforce quality also measures the perceived cooperativeness of workers with management, as well as the people’s general work ethic and education attainment,” the report write-up states.

Only three Republicans govern in the bottom 10 states – Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey (ranked 46th), Gov. Rick Snyder of Michigan (ranked 44th), and Gov. Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania (ranked 42nd).

California is ranked at 50, the worst state for business in America.

Yep, sometimes big business does suck

Mostly when it teams with big government to squash smaller competitors

Coming soon to a convenience store near you: Vuse, an electronic cigarette that delivers nicotine without the use of tobacco and is benefiting from the combined marketing power of  R.J. Reynolds and state government regulators.

Reynolds is testing the Vuse brand e-cigarette in limited distribution and is expected to roll it out nationwide.

In anticipation of Reynolds’ first effort in the e-cigarette market, the company’s lobbyists are pushing laws at the state level that could add costs, paperwork and headaches onto smaller competitors that have largely served the e-cigarette market so far.

More worrisome is that the online activities of thousands of e-cigarette consumers, who are looking for a tar-free alternative to smoking, could be effectively outlawed.

In particular, a bill passed by the Oklahoma state Senate on March 6 could boost the price of e-cigarettes by restricting online sales and preventing retailers from selling to consumers without going through a wholesale middleman first.

“We really feel this is a push by Big Tobacco to gain some more control over the market,” said Rob Ragan, owner of VaporKings, a store with four locations in and around Tulsa selling e-cigarette kits and related accessories, also called vapor products. Ragan estimates that there are about 45 such stores throughout the state that would be affected by this legislation, SB 802.

The crazy cool song I cannot get out of my head

I first heard this tune as part of a Heineken spot on TV, so, I looked it up on YouTube, and found this video, from a 1965 film. The words are transcribed on the video. The girl dancing is adorable, her name is Laxmi Chhaya, there is not much info on her, she passed away in 2004 and the man you hear singing the song, Mohammed Rafi died in 1980. By the way, he is not the guy pretending to sing in the video. Anyway,  I cannot get enough of this tune right now. Great song, love the music.

Can you believe I almost forgot our Blogiversary?

Yep, on this day, June 28th, 2008 this blog was relaunched on WordPress and this was my first post. I knew when I started that I wanted to do  a blog with someone. And one name came up immediately, Edward Daley. I could not ask for  a better friend, or blogger than Ed. At the time, Ed, nor I knew much about blogging, and some might say we still don’t :), but, we learned. We learned the example of others, we learned a lot because of the generosity of others, and slowly, we grew, and today, we are still growing. Thanks to all those who have helped. I will be doing some posts this weekend, and early next week celebrating The Daley Gator’s four years.

So, here is to us! Thanks to our readers, those who link us, and to those that inspired us, and still do.

Latest source of outrage to Feminist with more time on her hands than brains in her head is…..

M & M’s! Yes  those great little candies apparently come in regular, peanut, almond, pretzel, peanut butter, and  now coconut now SEXIST!

You just thought they were innocuous chocolate candies in a candy shell that melt in your mouth, not in your hand, didn’t you? HA! Shows how brainwashed you are. Thankfully, Ms. Magowan is here, leading us to the light:

It’s been a while since I blogged about the intensely sexist marketing of M & Ms candy.

I Wake Up Screaming (1941) ... “Should I Do I...
Feminut reacts to M&Ms

So sorry we’ve missed that.

But then, someone posted about the new Coconut M & Ms on my Facebook page, and I was so disgusted by what I saw.

Um… a bag of candy? Lighten up on the puritanical diet, dearie.

By now, we’re all familiar with Ms. Green, her high heeled white go-go boots and spidery eyelashes.

And how she’s always depicted as too cool for school and smarter than all the boy M&M’s put together. Well, we’re familiar with that. Ms. Magowan, alas, not so much.

Now she’s got a pink flower pasted on her head.

Good thing for Ms. Magowan it’s not a pink triangle, or her head might explode.

And there is Yellow (Mr. Yellow?) above her, falling out of a tree while trying to catch his binoculars.

Go read it all. Suffice it to say, you will not know whether to laugh at the sheer, uadalterated asininity of this moron’s rambling, incoherent victim-pimping screed, or shake your head in disbelief that an adult would waste one second being so petty and foolish. By the way, it goes without saying that Magowan has earned herself a Marxist Moron award for hr tireless digging in The Pit of Leftist Stupidity! And Goldfish and Clowns has earned a coveted spot on our blogroll!

ABC 5 NEWS – Here’s how a simple code violation spiraled into a criminal case:

Mitch and his wife Jean say it all began back in 2007 when they received a letter from the city of Burnsville saying, in part, “you must complete the siding of your home.”

“We were in the process of finishing,” Mitch insists. “This wasn’t something that we were trying to avoid doing.”

But in 2009 there were two more warning letters, and in 2010 yet another–this time requiring Faber to appear in court. Burnsville leaders provided 5 Eyewitness News with these 2010 photos of the Fabers’ home as proof there was a problem.

“I was expecting maybe a $700 fine,” Faber said. Instead he was given an ultimatum — finish the siding or go to jail.

So Mitch returned to his house and he and Jean say they spent about $12,000 putting a stucco façade over the plywood exterior. They thought they were finally in compliance. They were wrong.

Faber was then taken into custody in November 2011 after Burnsville inspectors ruled the work was still not satisfactorily completed. A warrant for his arrest had been issued when, according to the city, Faber failed to turn himself in because the house was still not up to code. Faber is adamant it was. Regardless, what came next, he says, was absolutely uncalled for and humiliating.

“I’m walking around in a green and white jump suit, I had to shower in front of a sheriff, I was shackled, my wrists were handcuffed to my waist — for siding.”

“It was insane,” said Jean. “Absolutely insane.”

After two days locked up, a judge agreed Mitch should be released but required him to submit to electronic home monitoring. In Dakota County, that process requires participants — no matter what their crimes — to blow into a drug and alcohol device every time an alarm goes off.

“They could call me at 2 in the morning and they did,” Faber said.

Good freaking grief! Well, it could be worse, he could have had bath salts in Nebraska
