Well Over Half Of U.S. States Now Refusing To Take Syrian “Refugees”

Here Is The Map Of All States Defying Obama And Refusing To Take ‘Syrian Refugees’ – Top Right News

.

.
More than half of U.S. states are now refusing to cooperate with Barack Obama’s insane importation of 200,000 so-called ‘Syrian Refugees’ in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.

As public outrage has exploded since revelations that at least two of the Paris terrorists came into Europe as “Syrian refugees,” the number of governors opposing Obama’s plan has increased almost hourly on Monday, from just one – Michigan – overnight, to at least 27 at this hour… including one Democrat in a tight race (Maggie Hassan, NH).

As Top Right News has reported, at least two of the Paris terrorists entered Greece posing as so-called “Syrian refugees” in September – and were able to make their way to France to prepare, arm and execute a massive terrorist attack just 90 days later. This, after a Syrian informant revealed over 4,000 ISIS fighters have already been smuggled into Western nations – “hidden among innocent refugees.”

Obama’s own DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson actually said “we don’t know a whole lot” about Syrian refugees coming into America, and that DHS has “no active protocol” for properly screening them.

Yesterday, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) announced that, to protect the safety of his citizens, he would BLOCK any future importation of Muslim “refugees” to his state. A virtual avalanche of U.S. governors quickly followed suit. And although Federal law gives Obama the ability to import refugees as he sees fit, through the Jimmy Carter-era Refugee Act (1980), the states are essential parts of the settlement process. Without their cooperation, few if any refugees are likely to be moved to those states.

In a press conference this morning in Turkey, Obama said that ‘the United States has to step up and do its part,’ while chiding those in the opposition party for suggesting there be a ‘religious test’ for entry into the United States.

Clearly, the American people do not agree, and the brutal Paris attacks were the critical mass that has spurred massive political action.

The White House is furious at the growing revolt of the states:

Here is a map of the states currently defying Obama on his Muslim importation program (updated hourly):

.

.
As of 11/17/2015 3:00EST

STATES OPPOSING SYRIAN REFUGEES (27):

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire (D), New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin

UPDATE: Gov. Susana Martinez (R-NM) is opposed to the resettlement of Muslim migrants. This remains missing from all other internet maps/lists hours later, for some reason.

UPDATE: We have Alaska in green because its Republican Gov. Bill Walker (I, former R) said he “can’t be bothered” to address this issue due to other concerns, angering many Alaskans who want him to oppose it.

UPDATE: Gov. Jay Nixon (D-MO) has refused to bar Obama’s refugees from Missouri, despite 105 of 114 counties being opposed to it.

Is your state welcoming any of the 200,000 so-called “refugees” Obama is demanding be imported into the heart of America, despite there being no “effective protocol” to properly vet them for ISIS ties?

If so you may wish to contact your governor at THIS link.

Third Of Syrian Refugees ISIS Sympathizers, 13 Percent Support – Gateway Pundit

A poll released in November but ignored by the mainstream media shows a third of Syrian refugees do not want the Muslim terrorist group ISIS defeated. The survey results buttress concerns by the dozens of U.S. governors who have announced opposition to President Barack Obama’s plan to import 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year.

The poll shows thirteen percent of Syrian refugees have a completely positive opinion of ISIS with another ten percent having mixed feelings on the terror group, suggesting that nearly one quarter are open to recruitment by ISIS.

Factoring the survey results with the 10,000 Syrian refugees Obama plans to bring to the United States means Obama will bring in 1,300 ISIS supporters and a total of 3,100 who do not want the US to defeat ISIS.

The Obama administration imported about 1,600 Syrian refugees in the past fiscal year. That means around 200 Syrian refugee ISIS supporters and a total of nearly 500 Syrian refugee ISIS sympathizers are already in the country.

The telephone poll of 900 Syrian refugees was conducted by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies as part of a larger survey of six hundred people in each of six Arab nations and the Palestinian territories about ISIS. The group surveyed Syrian refugees in “equal proportion” located in Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The survey also covered residents of Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the Palestinian territories.

The poll has a margin of error rate of plus or minus four percent.

The survey result for the other Arab countries show similar levels of support for ISIS which ought to prompt a reevaluation of the U.S. policy for immigrants and refugees from the Middle East. The sole exception is Lebanon where less than one percent have a positive view of ISIS.

At the other end of the spectrum, even more supportive of ISIS than the Syrian refugees, are Palestinians.

The survey shows twenty-four percent of Palestinians have a positive view of ISIS with another thirty-six percent only having a somewhat negative opinion of ISIS. The survey also shows Palestinians as the only group where less than fifty percent (48) support the defeat of ISIS .

A Google News search shows only Investors Business Daily and The Blaze have reported on the survey. In Canada, which has pledged to take in 25,000 Syrian refugees, it appears only The Rebel has reported on the survey.

Obama Admin ‘Lied’ About Vetting Syrian Refugees – WorldNetDaily

The former chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence says President Obama has no coherent strategy to defeat ISIS, and he alleges one of Obama’s top advisers “lied to the American people” to perpetuate a misguided program allowing tens of thousands of refugees into the U.S.

Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes appeared on multiples Sunday morning news shows. When asked whether the news that one and possibly two of the Paris terrorists came to Europe as refugees would alter the Obama administration’s plan to accept tens of thousands of refugees, Rhodes said there would be no re-evaluation.

“No, Chuck,” Rhodes told “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd. “We have very extensive screening procedures for all Syrian refugees who would come to the United States. There’s a very careful vetting process that includes our intelligence community, our National Counterterrorism Center, the Department of Homeland Security. So we can make sure we’re carefully screening anybody who comes to the United States.”

Peter Hoekstra spent 18 years in Congress and spent much of his time focused on intelligence matters. He is now with the Investigative Project on Terrorism and is the author of “Architects of Disaster,” which outlines the failure of the Obama administration’s policy in Libya.

“I think (Rhodes) basically lied to the American people,” Hoekstra told WND and Radio America. “He said we’ve got a good vetting process in place where we can vet those that are coming from Syria into the United States.”

He continued, “No we do not. The records don’t exist in Syria, especially after you’ve had five years of civil war. We don’t have a relationship with the regime. It’s an ungoverned area. We don’t know who these people are. Ben, shame on you for even implying that we’ve got a good vetting system. We’re lucky if can get the names right.”

In fact, even before the terrorist attacks in Paris, Hoekstra said the idea of bringing in tens of thousands of refugees was a fool’s errand. As such, he said the announcements from a growing number of governors that they won’t accept refugees is a good sign.

“I think it’s a good decision,” he said. “I wasn’t quite sure why we were ever welcoming these folks in. We are a welcoming nation to refugees and to these kinds of individuals, but only after they’ve been vetted.”

Hoekstra said spreading all these refugees around the Western world does nothing to solve the real problem.

“This problem is not solved by accepting refugees into Europe and the United States,” he said. “This problem is solved by eliminating ISIS and bringing some stability back into the Middle East. You’ve got to wipe ISIS out.”

The issue is taking on additional scrutiny after the European Union revealed only one-fifth of the refugees it has accepted (or about 44,000 of some 213,000 total) are actually from Syria.

But the refugee issue is just one element of the Obama administration’s approach to ISIS that baffles Hoekstra. On Monday, Obama told reporters at the G-20 Summit in Turkey that the Paris attacks would not alter the U.S. strategy toward ISIS. Hoekstra said the existing strategy is a proven disaster, as evidenced by Yemen and Libya turning into lawless wastelands and both Syria and Iraq getting increasingly unstable and deadly to Christians, Yazidis and others.

“I’m not sure what strategy this president is looking at that he believes it working,” Hoekstra said. “When you’ve got at least four countries that are no longer governed and are failed nation-states and are home for the planning and training and preparation for attacks against the West, that is not my view of success.”

Another statement from Obama in Turkey is getting even more attention. After announcing he was sticking with his existing strategy toward ISIS, Obama slammed those who want to America taking a more decisive role.

“What I’m not interested in doing is posing, or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually going to work,” Obama said.

Hoekstra was stunned.

“This message is clear: When the president says, ‘I have no intention of following or implementing a strategy about America leading’ or whatever slogan they may come up with, it is clear that this president does not have a strategy in place for America leading in Northern Africa, the Middle East or, for that matter, any other place in the world,” Hoekstra said.

And he said America’s credibility is taking a beating as a result.

“I hate to be that critical of this president, but America is at risk,” Hoekstra said. “We are in danger, and we’re in danger of losing our influence in the world. We’ve been a voice of stability, security, democracy and human rights. We are just losing all credibility throughout significant portions of the world.”

In addition to his frustrations with the Obama administration, Hoekstra is alarmed at how unprepared the intelligence communities were for the Paris attacks.

“What I’m hearing is that there was some general awareness that there were some attacks or an attack was imminent in Europe,” Hoekstra said. “That was out there, but again no tactical insight into exactly where the attack would take place or when it would take place.”

He said the truth is, it’s really hard to find these small plots before they happen.

“It just tells you that ISIS and these radical jihadist groups in a country of 80 million people or in a country of 300-plus million people like the United States, it’s not that hard to hide and organize and prepare to carry out an attack like this,” Hoekstra said.

So what can be done to improve America’s odds of stopping future attacks?

“We need closer intelligence sharing between our agencies,” Hoekstra said. “We need to push the technology envelope as quickly as we can, and we need to improve our human intelligence.”

Intelligence experts say efforts to infiltrate ISIS have essentially “gone dark,” partly due to former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden exposing tactics for tracking terrorist suspects.

Hoekstra said this confirms what everyone should have known about Snowden from the outset.

“As I said at the time, this was not an American hero protecting American liberties,” he said. “This was an American traitor that was giving away some of America’s secrets that would make us more vulnerable to these kinds of groups and these kinds of individuals and these kinds of attacks.”

Arkansas Governor Hutchinson Ends Taxpayer-Funded Medicaid Payments To Planned Parenthood

Arkansas Ends Taxpayer-Funded Medicaid Payments To Planned Parenthood – Christian News Network

.
…………

.
The governor of Arkansas has directed the state Department of Human Services to terminate its Medicaid contract with the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

In compliance with the request, the department sent a letter to Planned Parenthood of the Heartland on Friday as notice that the contract was being terminated.

“[T]he Arkansas Department of Human Services is hereby exercising its authority to terminate its existing agreements with Planned Parenthood of Arkansas & Eastern Oklahoma,” the correspondence reads. “The termination… will be effective 30 days from the date of this letter.”

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has also released a statement about the move, remarking that the decision was influenced by the recent video exposes’ outlining Planned Parenthood’s apparent harvesting and sale of aborted baby organs.

“It is apparent that after the recent revelations on the actions of Planned Parenthood, that this organization does not represent the values of the people of our state and Arkansas is better served by terminating any and all existing contracts with them,” he said. “This includes their affiliated organization, Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.”

Planned Parenthood likewise released a statement, stating that by revoking the agreement, states like Arkansas are aligning themselves with “extremists.”

“The politicians behind these reckless policies have allied themselves with extremists who will stop at nothing to end access to abortion – breaking laws, pushing misinformation, and violence and harassment of women and doctors,” it read in part.

Arkansas is the fourth state to pull funding to Planned Parenthood, following Alabama, Louisiana and New Hampshire. As previously reported, the New Hampshire State Executive Council voted earlier this month despite objections from Gov. Mary Hassan to cancel its $650,000 contract with the abortion giant. The funds will be reallocated to other women’s health facilities.

The day prior, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced that the state would terminate Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid contract.

“Planned Parenthood does not represent the values of the people of Louisiana and shows a fundamental disrespect for human life,” he said. “It has become clear that this is not an organization that is worthy of receiving public assistance from the state.”

The Obama administration has contended that it is illegal for states to terminate Medicaid contracts with Planned Parenthood because of its abortion services. Medicaid payments do not include abortions, but still provide support to the organization.

“Even though we anticipate a federal review, standing up for Arkansas values is most important to the governor,” spokesman J.R. Davis told the Arkansas Times.

“American tax dollars should not be used to subsidize billion-dollar corporations that inhumanely and illegally sell baby body parts,” Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) Senior Counsel Casey Mattox said in a statement. “Tax dollars that went to two Planned Parenthood clinics in Arkansas will be better used by the 179 community health centers and other clinics that actually provide comprehensive health care. We commend the governor and hope other states will follow his example.”

Arkansas Legislature Passes Religious Freedom Bill Similar To Indiana’s, Waits For Leftists’ Heads To Explode

Arkansas Joins Indiana With Religious Freedom Bill – Truth Revolt

.

.
On Tuesday, Arkansas legislators, ignoring the deafening cry from LGBT supporters against Indiana’s religious freedom law, finished approving their own version of a similar bill. Gov. Asa Hutchinson has already indicated that he would sign the bill once it was sent to him, and with the 67-21 vote approving the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in the Arkansas House, Hutchinson will get his chance. The Arkansas Senate already has approved the bill.

Hutchinson told KARK that the bill represents an effort to balance religious freedom and equal protection of the law, saying bluntly, “This bill tries to do that, and it’s not that complicated.”

The hue and cry over the religious freedom bill in Indiana prompted the governors of New York, Connecticut and Washington to curtail some government travel to Indiana. Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy blustered, “They knew what they were doing. They were going to make it legal to refuse to serve gay men and women. Somebody has to call them on it.” Resorting to typical Democrat name calling, he said of Indiana Governor Mike Pence on MSNBC, “When you see a bigot, you have to call him on it.”

The Arkansas bill states: “The Arkansas Constitution recognizes the free exercise of religion; Laws neutral toward religion have the same potential to burden religious exercise as laws purposely intended to interfere with religious exercise; Governments should not substantially burden the free exercise of religion without compelling justification.”

The bill justified its necessity, asserting:

In City of Boerne v. Flores, 521 U.S. 507 (1997), the United States Supreme Court held that the protections of religious exercise afforded by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb, only applied to religious exercise burdened by federal law or agencies and provided no protection from burdens on religious exercise from state or local law or governments; to provide the same level of protection from burdens on religious exercise from state or local governments, a state must enact an equivalent to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb, that was passed by Congress.

Arkansas Supreme Court Overrules Leftist Judge’s Anti-Voter ID Decision

Arkansas Court Voids Judge’s Decision Against Voter ID Law – New York Post

The Arkansas Supreme Court has tossed out a judge’s ruling striking down the state’s voter ID law, but stopped short of ruling on the constitutionality of the measure.

.

.
Justices on Wednesday vacated a Pulaski County judge’s decision that the law violates Arkansas’ constitution. Pulaski County Circuit Judge Tim Fox had struck down the law in a case that had focused on how absentee ballots are handled under the law, but justices stayed his ruling while they considered an appeal.

Justices said Fox didn’t have the authority to strike down the law in the case focusing on absentee ballots.

Fox has also ruled the law unconstitutional in a separate case, but said he wouldn’t block its enforcement during this month’s primary. That ruling is also being appealed to the high court.

Arkansas is amid early voting ahead of next Tuesday’s primary.

The ruling comes as voter ID laws are being challenged throughout the nation. Though 31 states have laws in effect requiring voters to show some form of identification, Arkansas’ in one of the strictest in the nation. Seven other states have photo ID requirements in effect similar to Arkansas.

A federal judge in Wisconsin struck down that state’s voter ID law last month, and Pennsylvania’s governor has said he wouldn’t appeal a judge’s recent ruling striking down his state’s voter ID law. President Barack Obama last month waded into the voter ID debate, accusing Republicans of using restrictions to keep voters from the polls and jeopardizing 50 years of expanded voting access for millions of black Americans and other minorities.

Republicans backing voter ID laws in Arkansas and elsewhere have said the efforts are aimed at preventing voter fraud and protecting the integrity of the election process.

Under previous law in Arkansas, election workers were required to ask for photo ID but voters didn’t have to show it to cast a ballot. Under the new law, voters who don’t show photo identification can cast provisional ballots. Those ballots are counted only if voters provide ID to county election officials before noon on the Monday after an election, sign an affidavit stating they are indigent or have a religious objection to being photographed.

Arkansas’ law took effect Jan. 1 and had been used in some local elections this year. This month’s primary is the first statewide test of the new law.

The case had initially focused on rules for absentee ballots under the voter ID law. The Pulaski County Election Commission sued the state Board of Election Commissioners for adopting a rule that gives absentee voters additional time to show proof of ID. The rule allows voters who did not submit required identification with their absentee ballot to turn in the documents for their vote to be counted by noon Monday following an election. It mirrors an identical “cure period” the law gives to voters who fail to show identification at the polls.

Fox’s ruling had been stayed by the state Supreme Court, but the high court declined to stay Fox’s decision to strike down the state board’s rule giving absentee voters additional time.

Masked Ex-Cop Killed While Trying To Set Fire To Anti-Corruption Blogger’s Hot Dog Cart

Arkansas Ex-Cop Killed While Trying To Set Anti-Corruption Blogger’s Hot Dog Cart On Fire – Bizarre World News

A former police officer died while trying to set ablaze a food cart belonging to a blogger who exposed crooked cops and other corrupt city officials. ArkansasMatters.com reported Friday that former Little Rock Police Officer Todd Payne died when blogger Ean Bordeaux (pictured above) tackled him as Payne tried to flee the scene of the attempted arson.

.

.
Bordeaux is the proprietor of the Corruption Sucks blog, a webpage dedicated to exposing corruption in the Little Rock local government and in the state government of Arkansas. At about 4:30 a.m. on Friday, he awoke to find the hot dog cart he operates for a living in flames.

“I looked outside and my hot dog cart’s on fire,” he told KARK. The cart operated on propane tanks, which, Bordeaux said, “could have blown up the house.”

He called 911, then ran outside in a bathrobe to put out the blaze. That was when he noticed a heavyset man in a mask running away.

Bordeaux was too busy trying to put out the flames then, he said, but about 15 minutes later, the man in the mask came back. The blogger watched from inside his house as the masked man tried to restart the fire.

Running outside again, Bordeaux said, he tackled the man as he tried to flee, hoping to hold him until police arrived.

Payne hit the pavement face-first, however, and died from his injuries. Bordeaux said his only desire had been to immobilize the perpetrator and hand him over to authorities.

He quickly realized, however, that the dead man was former LRPD officer Todd “Creepy Todd” Payne, who was fired from the force in 2010 for multiple violations, including a DUI crash in which Payne attempted to leave the scene, incidences of witness intimidation, lying to superiors and dereliction of duty.

Bordeaux had written extensively about Payne at Corruption Sucks, and believes that the former cop was attempting to strike back at him for exposing his crimes.

Idiot brings a machete to rob pharmacy, hilarity ensues

Via Free North Carolina

A thug who hit up an Arkansas pharmacy with a machete got his just desserts when a brave worker threatened him back with a gun. The terrified crook went running for his life Friday after the clerk whipped out the firearm during the botched robbery at the Medicine Shoppe in North Little Rock.

Astonishing surveillance footage shows the criminal casually walking into the store, leaving a pal outside as lookout, Fox 16 reports.

He hangs around for several minutes, telling staff he is picking up a prescription for his granny, and then pulling the enormous blade from his pants and leaping over the counter..

Arkansas school trains and arms teachers, Liberal heads explode spontaneously

You just know the folks at MSNBS are wetting themselves over this. But, I bet this works. a lot better than putting up signs reading “Gun Free Zone”

In the wake of Arkansas’s decision to prevent school districts from proactively arming their teachers, a private school is taking the exact opposite approach.

The pastor of Arkansas Christian Academy in Bryant, Ark., has decided to advertise the fact that at any time, between one and seven school staff members are carrying guns.

“I just felt like with what’s going on in many of the public sectors where there seems to be a lot of shootings we need to take the same stance that we do in church on Sunday for our kids Monday through Friday,” said Perry Black, pastor of the school, in a statement.

Staff members began receiving training and permits to carry weapons earlier this year, in response to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn. Now, a sign outside Christian Academy stands as a warning to any would-be shooter.

“Staff is armed and trained. Any attempt to harm children will be met with deadly force,” reads the sign.

Arkansas School District to Arm, Train Faculty

Good for them, hopefully more school districts will follow their lead. Bob Owens has more

“The plan we’ve been given in the past is ‘Well, lock your doors, turn off your lights and hope for the best,’” Superintendent David Hopkins said. But as deadly incidents continued to happen in schools, he explained, the district decided, “That’s not a plan.”

Home to an annual peach festival, the town isn’t known for having dangerous schools. But Hopkins said he faced a flood of calls from parents worried about safety after the attack last year at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

Hopkins said he and other school leaders didn’t see why thedistrict couldn’t rely on its own staff and teachers to protectstudents rather than hire someone.

“We’re not tying our money up in a guard 24/7 that we won’t have to have unless something happens. We’ve got these people who are already hired and using them in other areas,” Hopkins said. “Hopefully we’ll never have to use them as a security guard.”

Participants in the program are given a one-time $1,100 stipend to purchase a handgun and holster. Hopkins said the district is paying about $50,000 for ammunition and for training by Nighthawk Custom Training Academy, a private training facility in northwest Arkansas.

The Nighthawk training includes drills like the one Dougan participated in, with various role-playing scenarios involving shooters on campus. Dougan and other teachers in the program practiced using “airsoft” pellet guns, with students wearing protective facemasks and jackets.

“There’s pressure on you, because you’re shooting real bullets if this actually happened,” said Dougan, who has three children attending Clarksville schools. “I was nervous to start, but once it started and I was going through what they had taught us, it just took over.”

The training is narrowly tailored for teachers to respond to shooters on campus.

“That teacher is going to respond to one thing and one thing alone, and that’s someone is in the building either actively or attempting to kill people,” Jon Hodoway, director of training for Nighthawk. “That’s it. They’re not going to enforce the law. They’re not going to make traffic stops. If somebody is outside acting the fool, they’re going to call the police.”

Bob Owens points out the three obvious benefits to this step

  1. It deters the attack from ever happening. The would-be shooter is dissuaded from attacking at all, because of fears his plan will be thwarted.
  2. It shifts target selection to another “soft” target. The shooter recognizes that this school district is armed, and may shift to another school district, or another type of target. This is what terrifies the citizen disarmament cult. They’re worried that if such programs  are successful, then their campaigns to demonize firearms will fail.
  3. It may reduce the total number of casualties. The faster there is a response, the less time an active shooter has to make victims.

Exactly right. The purpose is to be trained and prepared. the Left, of course will howl over this because they have no concept of reality. The reality is that being prepared IS the most responsible thing anyone can do. I recall a few years ago a Liberal mocked me for owning guns, and she accused me of being afraid, which is why according to her I own firearms. The really odd thing is she went off on me AFTER I told her I had used a gun to stop a man from robbing me. See to her, the fact that someone pulled a weapon on me did not matter. That I had defended myself, without firing a shot I might add, was inconsequential. I only had guns because I was irrational and afraid in her mind. She actually asked me what good I really did by defending myself. In her “perfect” utopia, no one would need a gun, so, she would gladly would see more defenseless Americans because she is, in her words “not afraid”!

Oklahoma lowers death toll to 24

Let’s all pray for the lowest total possible

Nearly 24 hours after a monster tornado tore through a suburb of Oklahoma City, leaving at least 24 dead — including nine children — hopes for a rescue of trapped survivors are beginning to wane as more threatening weather moves into the region.

“We will rebuild and we will regain our strength,” said Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, who went on a flyover of the area and described it as a “heartbreaking experience” that is “hard to look at.”

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., forecast more stormy weather Tuesday in parts of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, including the Moore area.

Rescue crews are sifting through rubble in the search for survivors, painting X’s on buildings to make sure nothing is being overlooked.

“As long as we are here … we are going to hold out hope that we will find survivors,” said Trooper Betsy Randolph, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. But officials believe more bodies are underneath the rubble.

“I truly expect that they’ll find more today,” Oklahoma City Medical Examiner Office Spokeswoman Amy Elliott said.

Elliott cautioned Tuesday that officials could see as many as 40 additional fatalities, and Fallin said that bodies may have been taken to funeral homes instead of authorities.

Just keep praying people, and give aid in any other way that you can. And to those under tornado watches and warnings today, as my family and I am, be prepared.

Reince Priebus: You know who is a model Republican? Huckabee

Vomit inducing statement of the day for me anyway

RNC Chair Reince Priebus told reporters today that former governor Mike Huckabee would be an example of a “model” Republican in his eyes.

The Corner reported:

Earlier today, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus pushed back at critics who have questioned his continued support for Senator Rob Portman, the Ohio Republican who came out in support of gay marriage last week.

“When someone asks me ‘Are you going to cut off funding for Rob Portman?’ I think it’s just ridiculous,” Priebus told a group of reporters Friday during a briefing at National Review’s Washington, D.C., office. “He’s a good Republican. I think it’s also normal and decent to still support a person that you agree with on 99 percent of the issues.”

But Priebus says his support of Portman doesn’t signal a policy shift within the party’s platform. “Yes, we’re still a pro-life party. Yes, we still defend our platform on marriage,” he said. He emphasized, however, that Republicans must also sound “reasonable” to voters who disagree.

Priebus cited former governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas as an example of someone who could be “a model for a lot of people in our party” in terms of discussing issues like marriage and abortion. “I always tell people: Listen to Governor Mike Huckabee,” he said. “I don’t know anyone that talks about them any better.”

Good Grief! The only way we could have done worse in the last two elections would have been if Huck-a-phony was the nominee

If you want to understand why the South fought, let Generals Lee and Jackson explain

Clip from the movie Gods and Generals which is an incredibly accurate film. Pay close attention to why Virginia seceded, the same reason Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Carolina seceded. They no longer wished to be part of a union held together by “force of bayonet”. I use these clips because Robert Duvall and Stephen Lang were masterful as Lee and Jackson in the film

And from another clip from the film, Stonewall Jackson lays it out very clearly

Here is a piece on the character of both Lee and Jackson

Your Nanny State Update!

Next on the Nanny State’s list? Your hamburger cooking method! Via Matt

I swear these people stay up nights divining problems that government must solve by creating another law. This low flying news also comes to us thanks to Bruce McQuain at Questions and Observations.  The Nanny in question is a  Kathy Webb, a state Representative from Arkansas. She thinks frying hamburgers is dangerous to the environment.

Webb has submitted Interim Study Proposal 2011-201, an act “to declare an emergency” over the alleged crisis. Frying hamburgers is now The People’s Business of the Highest Order.

Webb’s bill claims food grease presents an emergency risk of sewer overflows that threatens the environment. “It is in the public interest to establish a Fat, Oil, and Grease Advisory Committee to study the recommended measures to better ensure that the collection, transportation, disposal, and recycling of fat, oil, and grease are done in a manner that is protective of the environment,” reads the bill.

And, there is more

According to the bill, the state will appoint a 14 (!) member committee “with adequate staff and facilities” to study the frying-pan-grease emergency and recommend legislation, enforcement, and other emergency government action to fight food grease. Even after such action, the committee and its “adequate staff and facilities” will perpetually exist, convene, and soak up taxpayer resources.

This is what I call Stuck on Stoopit!

Arkansas gives Petrino the boot!

What an idiot this guy is. He had it MADE at Louisville, then left for the NFL, where he QUIT after half a season. And now, he was in a great job at Arkansas he had the Hogs doing very well. But now, all that is gone! Great coach, but a gigantic dumb ass

If you thought that the Bobby Petrino affair had already run out of bombshells, Arkansas Athletics Director Jeff Long dropped a nuclear warhead during his press conference announcing the firing of Petrino: The Arkansas head coach had given mistress Jessica Dorrell a $20,000 gift at some point in their relationship. And at that point, you could kind of feel Petrino losing his remaining support among the Arkansas fan base.

And just like that, the career of one of the most controversial coaches in the SEC, if not the nation, came crashing to an end. And a program that seemed like a darkhorse national title contender a week ago was left trying to pick up the pieces.

There are almost too many questions right now to list them all. Will Arkansas go with an interim coach now or try to get a new head coach in before the fall? What does this do to Arkansas’ dreams of finally winning an SEC Championship? In short, what happens next?

Of course, there are a number of schools that would take a gamble on Petrino, Texas Tech maybe? Just a thought.

The Left has never respected freedom of speech

And this story out of Arkansas just reminds us that power hungry Statists will not stop

This story sounds like something you would hear out of China, not the United States. In Gould, Arkansas the city council is planning to pass an ordinance that forbids any group from forming or gathering that will discuss city matters without first getting city council approval – a clear violation of the First Amendment.

They mayor is dead set against it but it appears from the video that they can override him:

Absolute tyranny, every one of these miscreants should be thrown out of office at once! We forget that often times, the most direct threats to our liberty come from city councils and county commissions

And of course, the war on lemonade stands continues

Rick Perry, Tea party favorite?

Perry Event 2/1/2010

I have said that Perry might be the one candidate that could satisfy the establishment, and still be Conservative enough to garner Tea Party support

(The Hill) — The Texas conservative, who’s weighing a late entry into the GOP field, beats other candidates among Tea Party members.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is the top choice of Tea Party supporters in a Republican presidential candidate, according to a new poll released Wednesday.

The Texas conservative, who’s weighing a late entry into the field of GOP candidates, beats other candidates among members of the Tea Party, the conservative grassroots wing of the Republican Party that’s battling to shape the race for the nomination.

Twenty percent of Tea Party supporters would like to see Perry as the nominee, according to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Wednesday. Perry displaces former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) as the top Tea Party candidate in Marist’s April poll; Huckabee’s since withdrawn from the race.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) is the second choice of the Tea Party, at 17 percent, followed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) at 16 percent and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) at 12 percent.

My only issue with this poll is this. I am stunned Romney came in second, ahead of Palin, Bachman, AND Cain, who apparently finished well back.

New Round Of Deadly Tornadoes Kills Nine In Oklahoma, Kansas And Arkansas

New Round Of Deadly Tornadoes Kills Nine In Oklahoma, Kansas And Arkansas – New York Daily News

Another round of killer tornadoes tore through the Midwest on Tuesday, leaving at least five people dead in Oklahoma and two both in Kansas and Arkansas.

Several twisters shot through Oklahoma City and its suburbs during rush hour, killing five and leaving 60 injured, including three kids in critical condition.

The new line of high-powered storms struck just two days after a massive tornado barreled through Joplin, Mo., killing at least 122 people and injuring 750, officials said.

Four people died in El Reno, west of Oklahoma City, where winds were clocked up to 151 mph. A 26-year-old woman died when a tornado smashed into her mobile home in Chickasha, southwest of Oklahoma City, said police.

In Kansas, a twister hurled a huge tree onto a car in the town of St. John, killing two people.

Storm systems spawning tornadoes and baseball-sized hail also moved north and east across north Texas last night, filling the sky with debris but causing noinjuries.

In Arlington, Tex., tornado sirens began screaming in Rangers Ballpark during the fourth inning of the Rangers-White Sox game.

.

.
As the sky turned pitch black, the game was called and fans were evacuated through service tunnels. Thunderstorms, but no tornados, passed over the stadium.

But tornadoes were reported moving north and east across north Texas during the night. They caused damage but no injuries in parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties.

And officials warned that more severe weather was expected.

“Unfortunately, this event will likely continue for some time,” Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin said. “I am asking all Oklahomans to stay aware of the weather and to take proper precautions to keep themselves out of harm’s way.”

Meanwhile, rescue crews toiled throughout the day in Joplin in a desperate search for survivors amid the splintered homes, fallen trees and crushed cars. It was the deadliest tornado there in 60 years.

President Obama, who is planning to visit Joplin on Sunday, said in London yesterday, “The American people are by your side. We’re going to stay there until every home is repaired, until every neighborhood is rebuilt, until every business is back on its feet.”

Efforts focused on the remains of a Home Depot store and a Walmart, withsearch-and-rescue dogs hunting for survivors.

Rescuers in Joplin were given some reason for hope as they pulled 17 survivors from the rubble.

But the blue-collar town of 50,000 was far from out of the woods. Fire from gas leaks continued to burn, and weather forecasters said similar conditions could emerge to set off other large tornado outbreaks in the Midwest.

The National Weather Service said last Sunday’s crippling twister appeared to be a rare “multivortex” tornado, with two or more small and intense centers of rotation orbiting the larger funnel.

It ranked as an EF5 – the highest on a scale used by weather experts – with winds greater than 200 mph. At its peak, the massive funnel cloud was three-quarters of amile wide.

Until now, the single deadliest twister killed 116 in Flint, Mich., in 1953.

Barbour out, now we need more Cain!

Herman Cain
Image via Wikipedia

Haley Barbour was never going to win the GOP nomination, so, it is fine with me that he does not even get in the race. And, as The Other McCain says, whatever helps Herman Cain is fine with me!

So we see that popularity with insiders doesn’t count for much, nor did Barbour’s reputation as a brilliant policy guy or a top fundraiser. Barbour’s dropout means that there are now just two Southerners remaining in the 2012 Republican presidential field: former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Georgia businessman Herman Cain.

The constant refrain of those who have resisted Cain’s gathering grassroots momentum is, “Oh, I like Herman, but he can’t really win.” People who say that are paying attention to the wrong things.

Cain has already visited Iowa 15 times in the past year, usually meeting with small groups of conservative activists. (He spoke to 120 members of the Clinton County GOP last Tuesday.) He’s also visiting New Hampshire, South Carolina and other key states. And if you know Herman Cain, you know that people who meet him always like him.

As McCain mentions, let the “Cain can’t win” crowd go ahead and bleat, the history of United States elections is chock full of candidates that “just could never win”. So, let us see what develops between now and the primaries. Until then, go check out why you should support Herman Cain.

Now Keith Olbermann has crossed the line!

Take a peek at the video and then I will take Olbermann apart!

Where to start,where to start.

Treason? The South seceded peacefully, they never attempted to “overthrow” the US government.

Olbermann accuses the South of genocide? What genocide exactly? There was no genocide, none at all.

Olbermann and Clarence Page both assume that the war was ENTIRELY about slavery. Hmm, they have never read, obviously, the ordinances of secession issued by North Carolina, Virginia,Tennessee, or Arkansas. These make NO MENTION of slavery at all.

I will have more tomorrow, as I am worn out and battling some sort of bug, angd the Nyquil is starting to work its magic so, for now, goodnight.
