Trump Wins Again: Lockheed Martin CEO Commits To Driving Down F-35 Fighter’s Costs – Reuters
.

.
Lockheed Martin Corp said its Chief Executive Marillyn Hewson gave U.S. President-elect Donald Trump a personal commitment to bring down the price of its F-35 fighter jet, after he heaped pressure on the aerospace company over the cost.

Lockheed’s shares fell on Friday after Trump’s message on Twitter, and after he earlier tweeted that he had asked rival Boeing Co to “price-out” an older aircraft as an alternative.

Hewson said in a statement tweeted by Lockheed that the company would “aggressively” drive down the cost of the F-35, which brought in about 20 percent of Lockheed’s sales last year.

Trump’s transition team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Lockheed shares ended down nearly 1.3 percent in Friday trading on the New York Stock Exchange…

Nigerian President: Boko Haram Ousted From Last Remaining Stronghold In The Sambisa Forest – Daily Telegraph

The Nigerian army has defeated Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest, one of the jihadists’ last remaining strongholds, President Muhammadu Buhari said Saturday.

A campaign lasting for months in the 1,300 square-kilometre forest in northeastern Borno state led to the “final crushing of Boko Haram terrorists in their last enclave in Sambisa Forest” on Friday, Buhari said in a statement.

He congratulated his troops for “finally entering and crushing the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents at ‘Camp Zero’, which is located deep within the heart of Sambisa Forest”.

“The terrorists are on the run, and no longer have a place to hide. I urge you to maintain the tempo by pursuing them and bringing them to justice,” he said.

The statement made no mention of the whereabouts of Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the Boko Haram faction based in the forest.

The military has said in the last few days that Boko Haram fighters are running away from the forest into surrounding areas and people have been told to be vigilant.

Boko Haram has killed more than 15,000 people, displaced over two million and kidnapped hundreds of men, women and children during a seven-year insurgency aimed at creating an Islamic state.

The news came after a group of 21 Chibok schoolgirls freed by Boko Haram militants in October after two-and-a-half years in captivity in northeastern Nigeria were celebrating a “miracle” on Friday as the girls prepared to return to their families for Christmas…

Julian Assange Finally Gets His Internet Restored – Real Strategy
.

.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange confirmed Friday that his internet access at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London has been restored.

Speaking with Repubblica.it, Assange revealed new details on his current situation as well as the state of WikiLeaks.

“The internet has been returned,” Assange said.

Assange’s internet was “intentionally severed” on October 17 by the Ecuadorian government amid the publication of thousands of emails from Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta.

WikiLeaks accused US Secretary of State John Kerry of pressuring Ecuador to derail their publishing schedule during September’s FARC peace negotiations in Colombia.

The Ecuadorian government confirmed the following day that it had cut Assange’s internet over fears it would be seen as aiding WikiLeaks’ influence on the US election…

Obama Gives Parting Middle Finger To Israel With Anti-Settlement UN Resolution – Breitbart

President Barack Obama set the tone for his future attitude toward Israel during his infamous June 4, 2009, speech at Cairo University, where he claimed the Palestinians suffer “daily humiliations – large and small – that come with occupation,” and referred to Palestinian terrorism as “resistance through violence and killing.”

Obama would go on to warm to the anti-Israel, anti-Western Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt; repeatedly single out Israeli settlement activity for criticism; and ink a nuclear deal with Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, an agreement that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to as a threat to Israel’s security.

On Friday, as Israelis marked the Sabbath here in the Jewish state, Obama stuck it to Israel, perhaps one final time, when the U.S. abstained from voting on a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a halt to Israeli construction in the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem, thereby allowing the measure to pass.

The move was a dramatic departure from the longstanding U.S. policy of vetoing anti-Israel resolutions.

And make no mistake about it. This was an anti-Israel resolution.

The text of the resolution repeatedly and wrongly refers to the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem as “Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.” This fraudulent language technically places the Western Wall and Temple Mount plaza under the “Palestinian territory” qualification.

In actuality, the Palestinians never had a state in either the West Bank or eastern Jerusalem, and they are not legally recognized as the undisputed authority in those areas…

German Politician Faces Calls To Resign After Preventing Cops From Sharing Image Of Berlin Truck Terrorist – Daily Mail
.

.
A German politician is facing calls to resign over allegations that he prevented police from sharing pictures of the Berlin truck terrorist when he was at large.

Reports in Germany claim that Till Steffen prevented law enforcers in Hamburg from releasing pictures of Anis Amri, despite him being the most wanted man in the world after Monday’s terror attack.

Amri, 24, was named as a suspect on Wednesday after his wallet was found in the lorry which ploughed into a crowd of people at a Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 people.

It has been alleged that Steffen, who is head of the judicial authority in Hamburg, prevented the pictures being circulated because he feared sharing images of Islamist terror suspects will incite racial hatred…

Wealthy De Blasio Crony Caught Getting Food Stamps Illegally – Daily Caller

A religious leader and big-time fundraiser for Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been charged with welfare fraud for getting around $30,000 in food stamps.

Yitzchok “Isaac” Sofer, a Hasidic religious leader, hosted a fundraiser for de Blasio’s 2013 mayoral campaign at the same time he was receiving food stamps illegally.

During an FBI investigation, agents found that Sofer has been on food stamps since the beginning of 2010, and received more than $30,000 in benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) since 2012, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.

On his food stamp application in 2012, Sofer claimed to make $250 a week, or about $13,000 a year, and that he had no life insurance policy. Investigators discovered, however, that Sofer did have a life insurance policy worth $1 million, and on that application he claimed to make way more than $250 dollars a week.

Sofer got the policy in 2012, however, he listed his income for 2011 at $100,000, and assets at more than $600,000, according to the criminal complaint.

Sofer still has ties with de Blasio’s office, and is listed as a government relations lobbyist for the Central United Talmudic Academy, a religious school group. The academy lobbied City Hall as recently as 2015, New York Daily News reports.

Sofer was released on $250,000 bail after being arraigned Thursday, according to the New York Post…

Vladimir Putin Offers Cooperation With Donald Trump In Christmas Letter – Washington Times
.

.
Russian President Vladimir Putin asked to “restore the framework of bilateral cooperation” with the U.S. in a letter to President-elect Donald Trump earlier this month – which the transition team released Friday.

The letter offers Christmas and New Year’s wishes, then Mr. Putin suggests the two nations find a way to get beyond the loggerheads of the last few years.

“I hope that after you assume the position of the President of the United States of America we will be able – by acting in a constructive and pragmatic manner – to take real steps to restore the framework of bilateral cooperation in different areas as well as bring our level of collaboration on the international scene to a qualitatively new level,” Mr. Putin said.

Mr. Trump, in a statement, called it “a very nice letter” and said “his thoughts are so correct.”…

Texas To Cut Planned Parenthood From Medicaid – The Hill

Planned Parenthood will no longer receive funding from Texas’s Medicaid program, state health officials announced Tuesday.

Officials delivered a final legal notice to Planned Parenthood, The Texas Tribune reported, and the change will take effect in 30 days unless the organization files an appeal with the state.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and state health officials first moved to cut Medicaid funding last year when controversial undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials surfaced.

Anti-abortion groups claimed the videos prove the organization is “harvesting” fetal tissue, but the videos were proved to be highly edited, and Planned Parenthood fully denied the allegations.

Texas’s Planned Parenthood affiliates use Medicaid funding for family planning and women’s health services – separate from its abortion services, which don’t receive public funds.

The battle will likely move to federal court.

Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit a year ago to try to block Texas from stripping the organization of Medicaid funding, but that suit has sat idle as the organization waited for the state to deliver its final legal notice, the Tribune notes.

The Obama administration has repeatedly warned Texas and other states that stripping Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood affiliates could violate federal law.

According to the Tribune, Planned Parenthood serves about 12,000 low-income women in the state and previously received more than $3 million in Medicaid funding…

What Are They Afraid Of? – Jeffrey Folks
.

.
Now that Donald Trump has been elected, hope is gone. That’s more or less what Michelle Obama told Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview. “We are feeling what not having hope feels like,” she said.

There are millions of liberals feeling hopeless these days. The left’s fear of a Trump administration is like nothing seen since the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980, which reversed 50 years of liberal politics. Not only are they bawling in public, threatening to relocate to Canada, and cuddling up with therapy dogs, but they’ve tried every undemocratic trick in the book to deny Trump the election.

Trump obviously threatens something of crucial importance to the left, but what is it? What are they afraid of?

They are afraid of Trump’s policies, of course – and there will be plenty of changes on day one. Most of what Obama “accomplished” by executive order stands to be reversed…

Obama Seeks To Thwart Trump’s Economic Recovery With Last-Minute Ban On Oil Drilling – Gateway Pundit

Barack Obama owns the worst recovery since the Great Depression. He is the first president EVER to not see a single year with 3% GDP growth.

Now that Donald Trump has won, the stock market has set several new records. Thousands of jobs are coming back to America. But on Thursday, Barack Obama through a roadblock up in Donald Trump’s path to get the economy roaring again. He banned oil drilling in the Arctic and off the East Coast.

The Washington Post reported:

President Obama moved to solidify his environmental legacy Tuesday by withdrawing hundreds of millions of acres of federally owned land in the Arctic and Atlantic Ocean from new offshore oil and gas drilling.

Obama used a little-known law called the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to protect large portions of the Chukchi and Beaufort seas in the Arctic and a string of canyons in the Atlantic stretching from Massachusetts to Virginia. In addition to a five-year moratorium already in place in the Atlantic, removing the canyons from drilling puts much of the eastern seaboard off limits to oil exploration even if companies develop plans to operate around them.

The announcement by the White House late in the afternoon was coordinated with similar steps being taken by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to shield large areas of that nation’s Arctic waters from drilling. Neither measure affects leases already held by oil and gas companies and drilling activity in state waters…

Berlin Terror Suspect Shot Dead In Milan, Italy – Deutsche Welle
.

.
Anis Amri, the lead suspect in the attack on a Berlin Christmas market this week, has died in a shootout with Italian police, according to the Italian interior minister. Germany has confirmed that the dead man is Amri.

Anis Amri, a Tunisian man suspected of having driven a truck into crowds at a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday, killing 12 people and injuring nearly 50 more, has been shot dead in a shootout with police in Milan, Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti said on Friday, with Germany’s top prosecutor later confirming that Amri had been killed.

Minniti told a press conference in Rome that there was “no doubt” that the dead man was Amri after his fingerprints were clearly identified…

U.S. History No Longer A Requirement For History Majors At George Washington University – College Fix

George Washington University recently changed its requirements for history majors, removing previously key courses for the stated purpose of giving students more flexibility.

The department eliminated requirements in U.S., North American and European history, as well as the foreign language requirement. Thus, it is possible that a student can major in history at GWU without taking a survey course on United States history.

The new requirements mandate at least one introductory course, of which American history, World History and European civilization are options. Yet, like at many elite universities, the introductory course requirement may be fulfilled by scoring a 4 or a 5 on the Advanced Placement exams for either U.S. History AP, European History AP or World History AP.

Earlier this year, the American Council of Trustees and Alumni released a report revealing that fewer than one-third of the nation’s leading universities require history majors to take a single course in U.S. history. George Washington University now joins those ranks.

“A democratic republic cannot thrive without well-informed citizens and leaders. Elite colleges and universities in particular let the nation down when the examples they set devalue the study of United States history,” ACTA President Dr. Michael Poliakoff said in a statement announcing the report.

Some scholars dismissed the report’s findings, however, arguing that most students enroll in U.S. history classes regardless of whether it’s required, so handwringing over the lack of the requirement is moot…

Exclusive Data Analysis: GOP Primary Turnout Up 8.7 Million Votes, More Than 60 Percent In 2016 Versus 2012 – Breitbart

Newly compiled data after the New York Republican primary shows that among the states that have voted so far in 2016, GOP primary and caucus turnout is up well more than 8 million votes and well more than 60 percent over 2012’s process.

Top GOP officials say that the intense interest in the GOP primary throughout the year so far only serves to benefit the Republican nominee in November, whoever it ends up being.

In total, so far, nationwide the GOP has seen an increase of 8,719,041 votes in 2016’s primaries, caucuses and conventions over 2012’s primaries, caucuses and conventions….

The Increasing Instability of Obamacare – National Review
.

.
United Healthcare’s announcement that it is pulling out of most of the exchanges established by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) – a.k.a. Obamacare – is one of many indications of the law’s continuing instability.

United made this decision for obvious reasons: It was losing too much money, with no prospect of a quick turnaround. The company reported that it lost $475 million on plans sold in the ACA’s exchanges in 2015 and expects to lose another $650 million in 2016…

Rape Trees, Dead Migrants And The Consequences Of An Open Border – Breitbart

Many of the most caring people in the U.S. think they are helping the poor from Latin America by leaving our Southwest border wide open between ports-of-entry, but they are not. Several of the transnational criminal organizations (cartels) operating in Central America and Mexico make an estimated one-third or more of their profits from illegal immigration. Specifically, two groups below Texas, the Gulf and Los Zetas cartels, are largely fueled by the trafficking and smuggling of human beings.

The brutality of these criminal groups, from incinerating innocents in a network of ovens to their near complete control of state and local governments, is largely paid for by funds generated from illegal immigration – a shadowy economic engine that is only possible because we refuse to properly secure our border with Mexico….

Nebraska Abolishes Civil Forfeiture – Daily Signal

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican, has signed a major state forfeiture bill into law. Like New Mexico before it, the Cornhusker State now requires a criminal conviction before property can be forfeited.

Civil forfeiture is the law enforcement tool, which allows property suspected of being involved in, or derived from, criminal activity to be seized by police, sheriffs, and federal agents. It was ramped up in the 1980’s as a means of combatting the drug trade and organized crime, with the goal of stripping kingpins of their assets and ill-gotten gains.

Thirty years later, though, forfeiture has morphed into a system that is far more often used to seize relatively small amounts of cash, that stacks the deck against property owners fighting to get it back, and that encourages profiteering by law enforcement authorities….

Solar Developer SunEdison In Bankruptcy As Aggressive Growth Plan Unravels – Reuters

SunEdison Inc SUNE.N, once the fastest-growing U.S. renewable energy company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Thursday after a short-lived but aggressive binge of debt-fueled acquisitions proved unsustainable.

In its bankruptcy filing, the company said it had assets of $20.7 billion and liabilities of $16.1 billion as of Sept. 30.

SunEdison’s two publicly traded subsidiaries, TerraForm Power Inc (TERP.O) and TerraForm Global Inc (GLBL.O), are not part of the bankruptcy. In a statement, the companies, known as yieldcos, said they had sufficient liquidity to operate and that their assets are not available to satisfy the claims of SunEdison creditors…

Chris Christie And Carly Fiorina Are Folding Up Their Tents

Chris Christie To End Presidential Campaign – CBS News

.

.
After a sixth place finish in New Hampshire’s Republican primary on Tuesday, Chris Christie is calling it quits.

The New Jersey governor made the decision after conferring with major donors. He concluded that he did not have the financial support to continue his campaign, reports CBS Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett, citing a senior campaign source.

Christie spent significant campaign resources on the New Hampshire primary, wooing voters and banking on the state’s famous friendliness to governors running for the GOP nomination. Last week, Christie received plaudits for his debate takedown of rival Marco Rubio in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he slammed the Florida senator for his automaton-like answers to moderators’ questions.

But on Tuesday night, Christie finished with just single-digit support, behind Donald Trump, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Rubio. After a poor showing in Iowa, Christie is the only candidate left running who has so far accumulated zero delegates.

Christie addressed his backers at a primary night event in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Thanking volunteers and supporters, Christie said he did “not regret one minute” of the time spent in the early-voting state.

“I have both won elections that I was supposed to lose and I’ve lost elections I was supposed to win. And what that means is you never know and it’s both the magic and the mystery of politics – that you never quite know when which is going to happen, even when you think you do,” he said. “We leave New Hampshire tonight without an ounce of regret, not for the time we’ve spent, and for the thousands of people tonight in New Hampshire who will have voted for us. We thank each and every one of them.”

Of Republican front-runner Donald Trump, Christie said he “deserves congratulations” for winning the support of Granite State voters.

Trump, for his part, told “CBS This Morning” that Christie had called to congratulate him, and said in an interview on Fox News, “Frankly, Chris is somebody that maybe wouldn’t have to get out. I think somebody like Jeb Bush has far less talent than Chris, and he’s still in so you know, it’s one of those things.”

The New Jersey Republican announced Tuesday that he would be heading back to his home state, instead of continuing on to campaign in South Carolina, the last primary state before March’s Super Tuesday contests.

Carly Fiorina Is Dropping Out Of The Race – Mediaite

.

.
Carly Fiorina is dropping out of the presidential race.

After a weak showing in New Hampshire last night, Fiorina becomes the second candidate, after Chris Christie, to bow out today.

Here’s the full statement she posted to Facebook:
.

This campaign was always about citizenship – taking back our country from a political class that only serves the big, the powerful, the wealthy, and the well connected. Election after election, the same empty promises are made and the same poll-tested stump speeches are given, but nothing changes. I’ve said throughout this campaign that I will not sit down and be quiet. I’m not going to start now. While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them.

Our Republican Party must fight alongside these Americans as well. We must end crony capitalism by fighting the policies that allow it to flourish. We must fix our festering problems by holding our bloated, inept government bureaucracy accountable. Republicans must stand for conservative principles that lift people up and recognize all Americans have the right to fulfill their God-given potential.

To young girls and women across the country, I say: do not let others define you. Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you’re a woman. That is not feminism. Feminism doesn’t shut down conversations or threaten women. It is not about ideology. It is not a weapon to wield against your political opponent. A feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses and uses all her God-given gifts. And always remember that a leader is not born, but made. Choose leadership.

As I have said to the many wonderful Americans I have met throughout this campaign, a leader is a servant whose highest calling is to unlock potential in others. I will continue to serve in order to restore citizen government to this great nation so that together we may fulfill our potential.

Now that’s funny right there… I don’t care who you are.

Yes, Trump is a publicity whore

Proof Positive, like me, is not a Trump fan

I am no Trump fan, but I have generally given him the benefit of the doubt, but I doubt no longer. Trump from 2008:

“Bush has been so bad. Maybe the worst president in this history of this country. He has been so incompetent, so bad, so evil, that I don’t think any Republican could have won”

Does this guy’s judgment match your own? Or when, in his estimation, George Bush attacked Iraq

“…just because he wanted to do it”

But wait! There’s more! To Greta Van Sustern:
His (Obama’s) speech was great last night. I thought it was inspiring in every way. And, hopefully he’s going to do a great job. But the way I look at it, he cannot do worse than Bush.

At the risk of piling on, Trump is also the ‘rodeo clown’ who said of Charles Krauthammer, whose books the Donald has not read, perhaps, because they have insufficient pictures?

(Krauthammer’s) “a totally overrated person that dislikes me personally. I’ve never met him. He’s a totally overrated guy, doesn’t know what he’s doing.”

Just to be very clear, those famous, or infamous remarks Trump made were, in large part truthful, and in a larger part intended to get publicity. Trump could have said the same things in a fashion that would have possibly gotten the attention of Americans who might not be aware of the crime some illegals bring. But, instead he made a point of being as bombastic as possible. He was not interested in getting peoples’ attention, or informing, he was interested in publicity.

So, you think Donald Trump is a Conservative?

Smitty gives us a peek at Trumps’ “interesting” campaign contributions

CHomuduXAAAth5U

Now, I am sworn not to vote for Jeb, but this bit did give pause (h/tDaTechGuy):

Pete asks:

What is to stop Donald Trump if denied the GOP nomination, if denied the speaking spot he wants at the convention, if he develops a grudge against the eventual GOP nominee or if he wants to just feed his ego, from going the Ross Perot route running as a 3rd party candidate and dividing the vote to give Hillary the White House?

Let’s just stipulate that we’ve substantially collapsed into an aristocracy. We’re watching a mostly boring and puritanical version of Game of Thrones here. Clinton, Bush, and Trump are all hedged to score a fat pile of cash, irrespective of outcome. But the cash is more about keeping score at that level than it is, say, servicing the mortgage.

RINO Jeb Bush Tosses His Sombrero Into The 2016 Presidential Ring

Jeb Bush: ‘I Have Decided To Actively Explore The Possibility Of Running For President’ – The Blaze

.

.
Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor whose father and brother have both occupied the White House, announced Tuesday he is considering running for president in 2016.

Bush said on his Facebook page that after talking it over with his family during Thanksgiving, he has decided to formally explore a run.

“As a result of these conversations and thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs, I have decided to actively explore the possibility of running for president of the United States,” he wrote. “In January, I also plan to establish a Leadership PAC that will help me facilitate conversations with citizens across America to discuss the most critical challenges facing our exceptional nation.”

Bush said the purpose of his political action committee would be to “support leaders, ideas and policies that will expand opportunity and prosperity for all Americans.”

“In the coming months, I hope to visit with many of you and have a conversation about restoring the promise of America,” he added.

Bush’s decision will likely please some Republicans who are looking for some sort of established leader to win the White House from presumed Democratic frontrunner, former first lady, senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But it will also likely lead to grumbling among conservative Republicans who say Bush is too moderate. The former governor has been outspoken in his defense of the Common Core State Standards, a major conservative sticking point.

On Monday, the Christian Science Monitor reported that radio host Mark Levin called Bush a “very good moderate Democrat,” and that former GOP presidential candidate Pat Buchanan said Bush is “too moderate for the Republican base.”

Clinton has not officially announced that she is exploring a run or that she will run. Bush is the first GOP candidate to explore a run, and former Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) is the only Democrat to take the same step.
