Dear Congress, you had ONE JOB!

That one job was to pass a economic stimulus package to help businesses and workers who were going to be hit hard by the pandemic. That was the job they had. But, Congress, especially Democrats, stuffed as much crap into the bill as they could. In short, they cared more, far more, about handouts to their cronies than helping businesses and workers. Observe

Pelosi’s original bill called for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to receive $35 million, and the organization ended up getting $25 million.

Nevertheless, the Washington, D.C. group laid off the entire National Symphony Orchestra on April 3. The organization sent musicians an email saying their April checks would be their last until the end of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Washington Free Beacon

“The Covid-19 Advisory Committee was broadsided today during our conversation with [Kennedy Center President] Deborah Rutter,” the email read. “Ms. Rutter abruptly informed us today that the last paycheck for all musicians and librarians will be April 3 and that we will not be paid again until the Center reopens.”

The bill also gave a combined $150 million in funding to the National Endowment of the Arts and National Endowment of the Humanities.

Critically, that $150 million comes in the form of grants with no expectation of being paid back. Meanwhile, much of the funding afforded to small businesses in the bill comes in the form of loans, which the companies will have to reimburse.

Go read it all folks, and yes, get angry.

Pentagon withholds $300 million from Pakistan

The Pentagon says it has suspended $300 milllion in military aid to Pakistan for not doing enough to battle terrorists groups inside its borders.

The announcement comes ahead of an expected trip to Islamabad by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the U.S. military’s top officer, Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

In January, the Pentagon suspended nearly $1 billion in aid to Pakistan for what Defense Secretary James Mattis and other top officials said at the time was Islamabad’s failure to take on the Haqqani terrorist network.

Frankly, foreign aid should be earned, not just given because.

Trump cuts aid to Palestine

All I can say is thank you Mr. President

The Trump administration late Friday announced that it had cut $200 million in U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority until it can ensure this American taxpayer money will not be used to fund terrorism, according to U.S. officials who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

The announcement follows the recent passage of the Taylor Force Act in Congress, a bill aimed at providing greater oversight over how U.S. taxpayer dollars fund the Palestinians. The PA has for years been accused of using aid dollars to pay accused terrorists and their families annual salaries.

President Donald Trump directed his administration to freeze $200 million in aid dollars allocated to the PA for economic support, according to an announcement by the State Department issued just a short time after lawmakers on Capitol Hill were informed of the move, sources said.

One senior U.S. official familiar with the decision to cut U.S. aid told the Free Beacon the administration will no longer enable the Palestinian Authority and those in the Hamas terrorist government to use aid dollars in their war against Israel.

Well, now, it would appear that Trump is indeed starting that much needed swamp draining

Drain baby drain!

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney is reportedly slated to send a letter to federal agencies later this week warning them to prep for substantial budget cuts.

The guidance letter falls in line with President Donald Trump’s March 13 executive order aimed at making the government leaner and more efficient, Axios first reported.

The order called on Mulvaney, a staunch fiscal conservative and former member of the House Freedom Caucus, to “propose a plan to reorganize governmental functions and eliminate unnecessary agencies (as defined in section 551(1) of title 5, United States Code), components of agencies, and agency programs.”

Trump’s budget called for historic cuts to a number of agencies — including a 31 percent cut to the Environmental Protection Agency, a 28 percent cut to the State Department and a 17.9 percent cut to the Department of Health and Human Services. While a number of the departments’ budgets would be slashed, the Department of Defense would see a 10 percent boost in spending. . .

Go read the rest of what Fritz at View From the Beach has. This is such a welcome chain of events. A president actually cutting spending and reducing regulations and the size and scope of bloated federal agencies. AMEN!

If you listen to the Left……………………

You might just get the idea that the Trump budget will cause great havoc, misery, suffering, angst, starvation, dehydration, dry skin, and dandruff while at the same time killing kittens, puppies, bunnies, baby sasquatches, and will cause the arts to go away, poison our rivers, pollute our air, put PBS, and NPR out of business.

It will also end science, cause even more climate change, make tornadoes, and wildfires more common, and even deadlier. Did I mention it will cause mudslides, avalanches, beach erosion, tsunamis, and yes, of course, it will kill polar bears!

It might even cause sexual dysfunction in chimpanzees, baboons, baboons who identify as chimpanzees, giraffes might shrink, rhinos horns will fall off, and hippos will become anorexic and could even make Joy Behar of The View stupider.

Also, this budget slashing will be racist, sexist, Homophobic, Islamophobic and a bunch of other words ending in “ist’ and “phobic”. Did I mention cause an increase in inexplicably moronic statements from Sally Kohn, Rachel Maddow and other Leftists who are prone to panic attacks, idiocy attacks, and are incurably obnoxious as it is.

Did I miss anything? Any other catastrophes these “deep cuts” will lead to? Just leave it to the Left to keep fear mongering

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner reintroduces bill to dissolve ATF

I am all for it

Today, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner reintroduced the ATF Elimination Act, legislation that would dissolve the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and merge its exclusive duties into existing federal agencies.

Additionally, the Act calls for an immediate hiring freeze at the agency and requires the Department of Justice (DOJ) to eliminate and reduce duplicative functions and waste, as well as report to Congress with a detailed plan on how the transition will take place. Further, it would transfer enforcement of firearms, explosives and arson laws to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products would be transferred to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

Under this bill, the DEA and FBI would be required to submit to Congress a plan for winding down the affairs of the ATF after no more than 180 days, and field offices, along with other buildings and assets of the ATF, would be transferred to the FBI. It would have one year to report excess property to the General Services Administration (GSA).

Congressman Sensenbrenner: “Despite our country being trillions of dollars in debt, government spending continues to rise. Common sense budgeting solutions are necessary, and the ATF Elimination Act is one measure we can take to reduce spending, redundancy, and practice responsible governance. The ATF is a scandal-ridden, largely duplicative agency that has been branded by failure and lacks a clear mission. It is plagued by backlogs, funding gaps, hiring challenges, and a lack of leadership. These facts make it a logical place to begin draining the swamp and acting in the best interest of the American taxpayer.”

The less government bureaucracy the better. The ATF is not needed, and the money saved is a step in the right direction fiscally speaking. And, as Bob owens explains, the ATF needs to go for other reasons
The ATF has been routinely accused of incompetence, abusive prosecution,  corruption, and has been responsible for a number of major controversies, including the Ruby Ridge siege, the Branch Davidian siege, and the smuggling of weapons to the Sinaloa drug cartel under Operation Fast and Furious and other alleged gun-running operations in other states that have never been adequately investigated.

The brilliance of our federal government

And by brilliance I mean, moronic central planners being moronic central planners

A generation ago, Detroit was the wealthiest city in the nation by per capita income. It is mostly dead now, killed by Model City moonbattery and demographic transformation. The shell of a city that remains is desperately impoverished. But at least its many sidewalks to nowhere are handicapped-accessible:

In a city where poverty is high, schools are broken and crime is rampant, the federal government has forced Detroit to spend more than $50 million in the past decade for sidewalk ramps that often lead to nowhere.

Many of the nearly 35,000 ramps, which are for people with disabilities, are on inaccessible sidewalks or streets with no homes.

City officials have fought the absurdities of the 2006 federal consent order, but to no avail. The federal government said the ramps were required under the Americans with Disabilities Act, even if the sidewalks were useless.

And this is the type of “progress” the Left wants more of
