Well, not totally canceled, but, definitely “cleansed”
After 131 years, the Aunt Jemima name and image will be scrubbed from syrup bottles and pancake mix packages because they are “based on a racial stereotype,” Quaker Oats revealed.
The company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo and owner of the Aunt Jemima brand, made the announcement Wednesday morning following ongoing criticism for its continued use of the character, a grinning black woman, to peddle its products despite the racist roots. The backlash has only intensified in recent weeks following the in-custody death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt down on his neck.
Of course this will help in accomplishing absolutely nothing that will address any real problems Black Americans face. It will not bring us closer to “racial equality” or any other type of equality. Under our laws we already have “equality”. And of course, it will do nothing at all to fix inner city crime, or the missing Black fathers that wreak havoc in those communities. It will not rebuild businesses burned and destroyed by radical leftists, it will not silence the dangerous, the rhetoric of race pimps like Benjamin Crump, and leftist politicians, it will make fools in Hollywood and the media “feel” better. It will encourage more complaints about everything that lead to more cultural cleansing, but actual problems? The left could not care less about those. Just blame racism, bash America, wash, rinse repeat
