Tragedy Pimping politicians push too far

The Left simply cannot help themselves. Tragedies must be exploited for political gains. Seems they pushed too far last night. Via Bearing Arms

In the wake of any tragedy, someone is bound to organize a vigil. It’s something that we do. We need to remember, to honor the victims, to show our support of those who lost a loved one or who survived.

However, vigils for mass shootings aren’t vigils all that much these days. No, they’re anti-gun rallies. While pro-gun folks are expected to sit down and shut up during the initial aftermath, anti-gun voices can ring as loudly as they want. Gun control groups tend to organize “vigils” where they can advance their anti-gun narrative to an audience that’s particularly vulnerable at that moment.

In the case of Highlands Ranch, that’s no exception. What is an exception is what a group of students did.

Survivors of a Colorado school shooting walked out of vigil for their slain classmate on Wednesday night in protest of politicians and other groups using it as a platform for gun control, a local report said.

The students from STEM High School, where two gunman killed a student and wounded eight others on Tuesday, began yelling from the stands that they “wanted to be heard” after two politicians and pro-gun control advocates addressed the crowd, according to the local NBC affiliate, KUSA.

“What has happened at STEM is awful. But it’s not a statistic. We can’t be used as a reason for gun control. We are people not a statement,” one student said, according to video by KUSA.

“We wanted Kendrick to be mourned. We wanted all of you to join us in that mourning, but that was not allowed here. We all walked out. We were not kicked out,” another student added.

I watched an NBC news report on this, and the reason behind the student walkout was not mentioned, at all. The New York Post has this

They then stormed out of the vigil after Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and Democratic Congressman Jason Crow addressed the crowd, the Denver Post reported.

The kids chanted “Mental health” and hurled expletives at the media, according to the report.

The students returned, and some of them took the microphone, saying their grief was being used for political purposes.

The students, it seems did not want the tragedy pimping of pro-gun control politicians as this video shows

Here is just some of the tragedy pimping lowlights

What a ghoulish excuse for a human being. Anything is Ok if it pushes her agenda

Colorado students walked out of an event billed as a vigil for Kendrick Castillo, an 18-year-old killed in a shooting at his school on Tuesday, when prominent speakers attempted to turn it into a rally for gun control. Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colorado) and Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colorado) each took a turn calling for gun control at the Douglas County event before students streamed out in protest.

Two students at STEM Highlands Ranch, a K-12 charter school focused on science, technology, engineering, and math, shot nine students, one fatally. The accused students, who were arrested, are an adult male and a juvenile female who identifies as male. The accused male had written anti-Christian social media messages. He drove a car with a pentagram spray-painted on the hood, as well as other graffiti:

In response to the shooting, a public vigil was announced at another local public high school: Highlands Ranch High School. It was sponsored by the gun control groups Brady’s Team Enough and March for Our Lives and featured Democratic politicians who seek limits on Second Amendment gun rights, but was billed instead as an event to remember and honor Castillo and other victims. As the politicians called for gun control, students left in protest over the politicization of the deaths and injuries.

Students then returned to the gymnasium, taking over the event, complaining about adults politicizing what they hoped would be a remembrance of their friend Castillo, a young man with an interest in robotics who had heroically rushed a shooter. Students also gave Bennet a piece of their mind, telling him to focus on “mental health” issues.

This was no time for politics, from either side frankly. But, this is what leftists do
