Parliament Rejects Prime Minister May’s Brexit Deal For Third Time – New York Post
.

.
British lawmakers rejected Theresa May’s Brexit deal for a third time Friday, likely burying it for good and leaving the UK’s withdrawal from the EU in turmoil on the same day it was originally scheduled to split from the bloc.

Parliament’s decision to reject a stripped-down version of May’s divorce deal left it totally unclear how, when – or even if – Britain would leave the EU, and escalated the three-year Brexit crisis to a higher level of uncertainty and absurdity.

MPs voted 344-286 against May’s 585-page EU Withdrawal Agreement, agreed to after two years of tortuous negotiations with the European bloc. Within minutes of the vote, European Council President Donald Tusk announced EU leaders would meet on April 10 to discuss Britain’s now uncertain departure from the bloc…

Georgia Legislature Passes ‘Fetal Heartbeat’ Bill – PJ Media

The Georgia legislature has passed an important piece of abortion legislation by the slimmest of margins, creating one of the most stringent pro-life laws in the country.

House Bill 481 – or the Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act – would outlaw abortions if ultrasounds can detect a heartbeat, which is about six weeks after conception. Current Georgia law outlaws abortions after 20 weeks.

The legislation passed by a vote of 92-78, just one vote above the minimum that it takes to pass legislation in the House. The Senate passed the bill last week along party lines, and Governor Brian Kemp plans on signing the bill into law.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted the legislation’s sponsor, Rep. Ed Setzler (R-Acworth) that “commonsense Georgians” should support it.

“This bill recognizes the fundamental life of the child in the womb is worthy of legal protection…

Federal Judge Blocks California Law Banning High-Capacity Magazines – Townhall
.

.
Supporters of the Second Amendment scored a legal victory last night. A California judge blocked the implementation of the state’s ban on high-capacity magazines.

The preliminary injunction was handed down over concerns that the law is tantamount to the confiscation of private property without compensation, according to ABC News. Moreover, there are millions of these so-called high-capacity magazines in circulation.

It’s a silly law to begin with, but we shall see what comes of this. You never know what happens in the Democratic People’s Republic Of California. California Attorney General Xavier Beccera was obviously not a fan of the judge’s ruling, but the news organization added that he hasn’t signaled what he’s going to do next…

Trump Threatens To Close Border If Mexico Doesn’t Immediately Stop Flood Of Illegal Aliens – Fox News

President Trump on Friday threatened to close the Southern Border next week if Mexico does not “immediately stop” the record-breaking surge of illegal immigrants flooding into the United States.

Trump’s warning comes as Customs and Border Protection officials say March is on pace to exceed 100,000 border apprehensions – the highest monthly total in a decade. According to CBP, this week alone, agents have more than 12,000 migrants in custody.,

“The DEMOCRATS have given us the weakest immigration laws anywhere in the World. Mexico has the strongest, & they make more than $100 Billion a year on the U.S.,” Trump tweeted. “Therefore, CONGRESS MUST CHANGE OUR WEAK IMMIGRATION LAWS NOW, & Mexico must stop illegals from entering the U.S. through their country and our Southern Border.”

“Mexico for many years made a fortune off of the U.S., far greater than Border Costs…

Get Woke, Go Broke: Dick’s Sporting Goods Loses Millions Over Anti-Gun Stance – RedState
.

.
The silent majority doesn’t make a lot of noise, at least in the same way your run-of-the-mill leftist activist does. Typically, when you anger Americans you will start to see how badly you messed up over time. For Dick’s Sporting Goods, their decline is incredibly expensive.

It all started when the Parkland shooting caused Dick’s CEO, Ed Stack, to declare that his company would no longer sell AR-15’s, and urged more gun-control laws be put in place. Naturally, this didn’t sit well with Americans, who began turning their back on the business. Stock shares began falling, and instead of course correcting, Stack doubled down on his anti-gun stance.

Now, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the house that Stack razed has lost out on millions of dollars…

President Trump Signs Executive Order To Prepare For EMP Attack – Breitbart

President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Tuesday directing the federal government to prepare a coordinated response plan in the event of an electromagnetic pulse attack (EMP).

The order described the enormous damage such an attack could cause and noted the U.S. government currently lacks a coherent plan of action for responding to one.

The minimal media coverage given to Trump’s order was bizarrely contemptuous, as though he had just issued an order to prepare defenses against flying saucers or flesh-eating zombies.

The Washington Post headline was “Trump issued an executive order to prepare for an EMP attack. What is it, and should you worry?”

The Post answered its own question with the subhead, “Nah. But the U.S. should get ready for a very similar threat – from the sun.”…

Black Church Member Pleads Guilty In ‘Vote Trump’ Arson – Washington Times
.

.
A member of a black church in Mississippi has pleaded guilty to burning the church, which was also spray painted with the slogan “Vote Trump,” a week before the 2016 presidential election.

Andrew McClinton, 47, pleaded guilty to arson Thursday, the Delta Democrat-Times reported. His sentencing is set for late April. Investigators said McClinton, who is African-American, belonged to Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, which was vandalized and burned.

Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney, who is also the state fire marshal, told The Associated Press that investigators believe the graffiti was intended as a distraction from some other sort of wrongdoing. Chaney would not specify what that was.

It’s Official: U.S. Is First Country In World History To Increase GDP By More Than $1 Trillion In A Year – Gateway Pundit

For the second year in a row President Trump broke the record for the largest annual increase in GDP in history! In 2017 the U.S. GDP increased by a record $853 billion. But this record was shattered in 2018 with an increase of greater than $1 trillion, the largest annual increase in GDP by any country in world history!

The World Bank reported for 2017 that the U.S. was about 25% of the total world GDP of around $80 trillion. The World Bank reported the US at $19 trillion to China’s $12, Japan’s $5, Germany’s $4 and the UK’s $3.

For the year 2018, according to the US BEA, the U.S. GDP landed at $20.9 trillion for the first time in history being above $20 trillion for the year. The increase over last year’s record high is the largest in history. The U.S. GDP increased by more than $1 trillion for the first time in history!

Along with this, President Trump has managed to keep the debt to GDP ratio from increasing since he became President…

Biden’s Attack On ‘White Man’s Culture’ Is A Mix Of Historical Illiteracy And Dishonesty – David Harsanyi
.

.
During a recent struggle session over his role in the Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill Supreme Court hearings of 1991, prospective presidential candidate Joe Biden declared that the United States had a centuries-old embedded cultural problem with permissive violence against women.

“It’s an English jurisprudential culture,” Biden explained this week, “a white man’s culture. It’s got to change.”

“English jurisprudential culture” is, of course, the foundation of American governance and our Constitutional rights. It’s unlikely any culture in history has brought more freedom and prosperity to more of humankind…

Texas AG Paxton Opens Investigation Into San Antonio Banning Chick-fil-A; Asks U.S. Transportation Secretary Chao To Do Likewise – Attorney General Of Texas

Attorney General Ken Paxton today sent a letter to the mayor and council members for the City of San Antonio, informing them he is opening an investigation surrounding the city’s decision to exclude Chick-fil-A from a concession contract that City staff recommended.

By separate letter, he also requested that Secretary Elaine Chao of the United States Department of Transportation open an investigation into the city of San Antonio’s potential violation of federal law and Transportation Department regulations when the city banned Chick-fil-A from operating a restaurant in the San Antonio International Airport based on the company’s religious beliefs.

Last Thursday, the San Antonio city council voted to remove Chick-fil-A from a new airport concessionaire contract, citing Chick-fil-A owners’ religious beliefs.

“The City of San Antonio’s decision to exclude a respected vendor based on the religious beliefs associated with that company and its owners is the opposite of tolerance,” Attorney General Paxton said…

Three Texas Anti-Abortion Bills Pass Committees, Gain Momentum In Senate – Texas Tribune
.

.
A Senate panel approved a controversial abortion bill Wednesday regarding the rare cases of infants who survive the procedure. It’s one of three anti-abortion bills that Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has listed among his priorities. All three have been approved by committees and sent to the full Senate.

The Senate Health and Human Services Committee approved the infant protection bill with a 6 to 2 vote. Senate Bill 23, filed by Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, the committee chair, gives teeth to an already existing statute that grants legal protections to children born after a failed abortion attempt.

Doctors who fail to provide appropriate medical treatment would be charged with a third-degree felony and have to pay a fine of at least $100,000…

Michigan Substitute Teacher Accidentally Shows Middle Schoolers Porn – Daily Caller

A Michigan substitute teacher showed a room full of middle schoolers a pornography video for at least 30 seconds before the teacher was able to turn it off.

The unidentified teacher at O.L. Smith Middle School in Dearborn was attempting to play footage about the Lewis and Clark expedition to the seventh grade class on March 13 when porn played instead, according to Fox2.

“This event was a very unfortunate and rare occurrence. Our district has a very powerful and proven filtering software to prevent this type of event from happening. Each day thousands of students log on to the internet throughout the district without incident,” the principal, Zeina Jebril, wrote in a letter to parents.

Jebril said there was an ongoing investigation to find out what exactly happened and to make sure it never happened again. David Mustonen, a spokesperson for the school, said the sub was unaware the video was there and blamed the video being shown on a technological glitch…

Report: Beijing Open To “Major Concessions” On Technology Transfers, Cloud Computing – Zero Hedge
.

.
President Trump can still hammer crude prices lower with a tweet, but unfortunately for Larry Kudlow and Steven Mnuchin, optimistic trade headlines just don’t pack the same market “oomph” that they once did.

Proof of this arrived Thursday morning, when a pair of ostensibly bullish stories from Reuters and WSJ failed to revive the market’s appetite for risk, even as anonymous U.S. officials teased what they heralded as a “major concession” from Beijing on forced technology transfers, and a top Chinese official told a group of American tech CEOs about a proposal to lift restrictions on foreign cloud-computing companies.

First came the Reuters report that claimed the Chinese were “talking about forced technology transfers in a way they’ve never wanted to talk about it before.”…

Speech Nazis At Twitter Considering Creation Of Special Label For Trump Tweets That “Violate Rules” – Breitbart

Twitter is reportedly considering adding special labels to President Trump’s tweets if it decides they “violate” the site’s rules.

CNN reports that Twitter is considering adding labels to the President’s tweets that it judges to violate the site’s rules, indicating that the tweets were going to remain on the platform because they are considered to be in the public interest. During an interview with the Washington Post, Twitter’s head of legal, policy and trust, Vijaya Gadde, revealed the company’s plan.

Twitter is reportedly attempting to maintain the website’s standards while giving context to tweets from politicians and public figures which may violate the websites rules but add to public debate.

Gadde was asked whether Twitter’s current approach to the president’s tweets means that he receives total immunity to say what he wishes on the platform. Gadde responded by saying that the platform wants to find a way to acknowledge that some tweets break the sites community standards but keep them on the platform if they are newsworthy…

CBP Commissioner: U.S. Has Hit “Breaking Point” At Southern Border – New York Post
.

.
The United States has reached the “breaking point” at the southern border as record numbers of migrants overwhelm the system, the head of Customs and Border Protection warned Wednesday.

“That breaking point has arrived this week at our border,” Kevin McAleenan told reporters at the border in Texas.

“CBP is facing an unprecedented humanitarian and border- security crisis all along our southwest border, and nowhere has that crisis manifested more acutely than here in El Paso,” he said, not far from a makeshift holding pen where US agents have been processing hundreds of parents and kids…

Here’s The Conservative Plan To Improve Health Care – Doug Badger

A proposal to repeal Obamacare entitlements and replace them with grants to states would reduce premiums for individual coverage by as much as 32 percent, according to an analysis by the Center for Health and Economy.

The Health Care Choices Proposal also would modestly reduce the deficit, increase the number of people with private health insurance, and cut Medicaid spending, according to Center for Health and Economy.

The proposal, the product of national and state think tanks, policy analysts, and others in the conservative community, embarks on a new path to empower consumers and return authority to the states to provide people with better and more affordable health coverage options.

The Center for Health and Economy developed the study, at the commissioning of The Heritage Foundation, by applying its independent model to the published Health Care Choices Proposal…

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) is planning to send a criminal referral next week to the Justice Department that will detail “multiple referrals on a number of different crimes,” including leaking classified information, as part of his investigation into misconduct at the Justice Department and the FBI.

“As of now, it’ll be one criminal referral but with multiple referrals on a number of different crimes,” he told Breitbart News on Wednesday in an exclusive interview. “We will have some leakers in there for sure.”

“We knew this was a joke from the beginning, and I’ve said as much for a long time. Basically from the time our report came out, which has been a year…

Sharia Justice Update: New Laws Adopted By Brunei Include Stoning Homosexuals And Adulterers To Death, And Amputating The Limbs Of Thieves – Daily Mail

Brunei could start whipping or stoning gay people to death next week when strict new laws are introduced, human rights groups have warned. The tiny oil-rich nation already implements Sharia laws, with homosexuality punishable with up to ten years in prison.

But from the start of next month the government plans to amend the penal code to mean LGBT people and adulterers could be stoned to death, with thieves facing having hands or feet amputated.

Amnesty International today slammed the plans, describing the Islamic criminal laws for gay sex and theft as ‘vicious’.

Brunei was the first East Asian country to introduce Islamic criminal law in 2014 when it announced the first of three stages of legal changes that included fines or jail for offences like pregnancy outside marriage or failing to pray on Friday.

Previously, homosexuality was illegal in Brunei and punishable by up to ten years imprisonment…

Prime Minister May Pledges To Step Down If Parliament Backs Brexit Deal – Daily Mail
.

.
Theresa May sensationally promised to quit Downing Street in return for Tory Brexiteer rebels passing her deal tonight as she admitted her time as Prime Minister was almost over.

Mrs May made her final gamble to try and get the Brexit deal across the line by promising to leave No 10 if Tory Brexiteer rebels finally back down.

No 10 sources said the Prime Minister would resign once Britain was outside the EU – due to be May 22 if the deal gets agreed by MPs later this week. She had previously only said she would go before the 2022 election.

It is deeply unclear what Mrs May will do if her deal fails a third time and No 10 sources said it would be a ‘whole different ball game’…

Chicago Police Union Calls For Federal Investigation Into State’s Attorney Foxx’s Handling Of Smollett Case – WFLD

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), which represents 8,000 Chicago cops, sent a letter to John Lausch, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, asking for a federal investigation into how Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx handled the Jussie Smollett case.

Before charges were even filed against Smollett, Foxx recused herself from prosecuting the case, but wouldn’t say why.

Last week, the Tribune obtained emails showing that while police were still in the middle of their investigation into the alleged hate crime, Foxx was contacted by a politically-connected attorney friendly with Smollett’s family, saying they had “concerns about the investigation.”

Foxx then asked Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to end the police investigation and turn it over to the FBI, which never happened. The union believes Foxx may have broken the law when she tried to take the case away from Chicago police…

Male Inmate Sucker-Punches Female Public Defender In The Head During Florida Court Hearing – Fox News
.

.
A Florida public defender was taken to the hospital after an inmate approached her from behind and punched her in the head during a bond hearing at the Broward County courthouse on Wednesday.

Assistant public defender Julie Chase was standing next to a female when William Green – who was in court for one count of touch or strike battery – walked up to the attorney from behind and punched her in the head, WSVN reported.

A video showed Chase falling to the floor next to the courtroom podium after Green swung his left fist. Courtroom bailiffs rushed in and appeared to tackle the inmate to the ground as Chase got up and walked away from the scene…
