Just another reason I could not live in L.A.

LA sucks!

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – A Los Angeles City Council Committee approved an ordinance Monday that will require city contractors to disclose any ties they have to the National Rifle Association.

The full City Council in October approved a motion from Councilman Mitch O’Farrell which authorized the drafting of the ordinance by the city attorney’s office. The ordinance would not ban NRA-connected contractors from doing business with the city but would require them to disclose any contracts or sponsorships they have with the gun rights advocacy group.

The reason for this?

“The roadblock to gun safety legislation across the United States is the National Rifle Association,” O’Farrell said during a meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee in October. “Although gun safety legislation has been enacted by some individual states, especially here in California, the NRA’s lock on Congress and the Senate is such that no gun safety legislation has been enacted at the federal level since 1994 with the assault weapons ban. Than ban expired in 2004.”

The roadblock is voters, six million of us who are in the NRA. We hold our legislators accountable. That is how it is supposed to work isn’t it? Congress listening to those it serves? No wonder the Marxists running LA want to harm contractors who respect self-defense as a natural right

I wish I was younger, and a top shelf athlete who was ready to enter free agency. I would make sure to note that, unlike many athletes, I would not play in California, or Chicago, or Boston or New York for that matter. When asked why by stunned reporters who think everyone wants to be in New Yawk or LA, or Boston, or Chicago why, I would say that those places have draconian taxation, and they have anti-self-defense laws, AKA gun control. I wonder if ESPN would hold me up for fighting against confiscatory, punitive tax laws, or for standing for the right to keep and bear arms? I bet not. I would likely be ripped and mocked.
