Electoral Three-Card Monte: How The Democrats Stole Orange County – Dov Fischer

A nation riveted. Did Florida elect DeSantis their new Governor, or the anti-Semitic crook with the Hamilton tickets and the Tallahassee corruption scandal? Did Florida elect one of its finest-ever Governors, now term-limited, to the United States Senate, or did they go again for the mummy?

And for those with Georgia on their minds, did Stacey Abrams finally figure out that 49 percent is less than 50 percent, or is she still working on the new math?

Well, it seems for Republicans focused on those that all’s well that ends well. DeSantis is Florida Governor after an election and a machine recount. Rick Scott is United States Senator after an election, a machine recount, a manual recount, a partridge and a pear tree.

Brian Kemp is Georgia Governor after withstanding Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, and the challenges of running against a sore loser who also cannot count. So Georgia and Florida remain red enough for now…

Activist Judge Blocks Trump Asylum Changes, Rules Invaders Can Demand Legal Protections Even After Illegal Entry – Washington Times

A federal judge blocked President Trump’s new asylum crackdown policy early Tuesday, ruling that federal law allows anyone – including illegal immigrants who jumped the border – to demand protections once they reach U.S. soil.

The decision is a major dent to the administration’s efforts to derail the migrant caravan camped out on the U.S.-Mexico border, undercutting Homeland Security’s efforts to funnel those people to the legal border crossings.

Under U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar’s ruling, they can demand asylum no matter how they enter, and even if they don’t have a real claim, which the administration fears will restore the enticement to attempt to sneak in.

Judge Tigar, an Obama appointee to the federal court in the Northern District of California, blocked a rule that had said illegal immigrants caught after jumping the southwest border would not be allowed to make asylum claims…

Lecturers At Leeds Trinity University Told Not To Use Capital Letters Because They Might Frighten Snowflakes Into Failure – Daily Express
.

.
University lecturers have been told not to use words in capital letters when setting assignments because it might frighten students into failure.

Staff at Leeds Trinity’s school of journalism have also been told to “write in a helpful, warm tone, avoiding officious language and negative instructions”. Some blasted the move as “more academic mollycoddling” of the snowflake generation. An “enhancing student understanding, engagement and achievement” memo lists dos and don’ts – with “do” and “don’t” among words frowned upon.

Course leaders say capitalising a word could emphasise “the difficulty or high-stakes nature of the task”…

Governor Jerry Brown Quietly Admits Trump Was Right, Eases California Logging Rules – Daily Wire

California Gov. Jerry Brown appears to have quietly admitted President Donald Trump’s suggestion about improving California forestry was correct and is now urging state lawmakers to loosen restrictive logging regulations put in place to appease environmentalists.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that Brown is proposing one of the most significant changes to the state’s logging rules in nearly half a century.

“Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing broad new changes to California’s logging rules that would allow landowners to cut larger trees and build temporary roads without obtaining a permit as a way to thin more forests across the state,” the paper reports.

Environmentalists in California aren’t on board. They’ve been pushing for years to make California’s logging rules more restrictive, not less, but in the wake of the deadly forest fires that ripped through the state this month, prominent lawmakers believe a change must be made before more people die from a preventable situation…

.

.

Furthermore, Facebook is on track for its longest quarterly losing streak since 2013, and its first full year of losses since going public. According to some experts, the stock isn’t done falling.

“Technically, when I look at this, there’s no question that we’ve violated the long-term uptrend support line off of the [2014] lows…

Sacré Bleu: Macron’s Popularity Falls To 25% – Daily Wire

It turns out that calling nationalism a “betrayal” as the globalist ethos swallows your country faster than Gerard Depardieu swallows a dozen croissants does not exactly gin up public enthusiasm.

According to Agence France Presse, the French President Emmanuel Macron has seen a heavy drop in his popularity rating. The drop to 25% approval comes shortly after a major protest over high fuel prices in the country.

“The poll by research group Ifop was published in the Journal du Dimanche a day after a nationwide ‘yellow vest’ protest against high fuel prices that analysts say has come to represent widespread frustration with the 40-year-old president,” reports AFP.

“The results of the widely watched poll showed an overall fall of four points in November from the previous month, with only four percent of respondents saying they were ‘very satisfied’ with Macron’s performance, while 21 percent were ‘mostly satisfied.’…

.
QuikTrip convenience stores added good guys with guns in Wichita, Kansas, and the results were so good that they are expanding the program to stores in other areas. The NRA noted, “After implementing the new strategy at its Wichita, Kansas locations and seeing success, QuikTrip, the massive gas station and convenience store chain said it would expand the policy to other stores.”

House DemoNazis Plan To Lift 181-Year-Old Ban On Religious Headwear To Pander To New Muslim Congresswomen – The Independent

Congressional Democrats are attempting to alter a 181-year-old rule banning all headwear from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives after two Muslim women were elected to serve in the chamber. Banned since 1837, the politicians are hopeful that the amendment will allow people religious headwear, including the hijab and kippah, to be worn.

The push for reform comes as the Democrats prepares to welcome Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib into congress, the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress. Ms Omar will represent Minnesota and Ms Tlaib, Michigan.

Ms Omar will also become the first woman of colour to represent her state in Washington as well as the first Somali-American in Congress and the first federal lawmaker ever to wear a religious headscarf.

Right To Work Wins Out In Kentucky – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
Labor unions were dealt another blow in Kentucky after the state supreme court upheld its right to work law.

The state’s highest court upheld a lower court judge’s ruling dismissing the lawsuit filed by Teamsters Local 89. The 4-3 majority affirmed that the law, which prohibits mandatory union fees as a condition of employment, passed state constitutional muster and was appropriate under federal labor law.

“We hold that the Unions’ constitutional challenges to the Act are without merit,” the majority ruling in the 4-3 case says. “In this area of economic legislation, the legislature and the executive branch make the policy, not the courts.”…

Perennial Losers The Cleveland Browns Are Interested In Interviewing Condoleezza Rice For Head Coaching Job – Zero Hedge

Browns general manager John Dorsey said last week that he might be interested in hiring a woman to become the new head coach of the struggling Cleveland Browns, who, after their abysmal 2017 season, are currently ranked dead last in the AFC North. And according to ESPN, Dorsey has a name in mind: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

An interview with Rice would set a historic precedent, allowing Condi to add another “first” to her resume: In addition to being the first black female secretary of state, she would become the first woman to ever interview for an NFL head coaching job.

The Browns would like to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for their head-coaching job, a league source tells ESPN. If the Browns follow through on it, Rice would become the first woman to interview for an NFL head-coaching job.

A potential interview hardly means the Browns will hire Rice, but they are interested in talking to her about the job…

Dumber Than Dirt: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Has No Idea What The 3 Branches Of Government Are – Daily Wire
.

.
Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed this weekend that she has no idea what the three branches of the U.S. government are during a conference call with prospective far-left political candidates.

“If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress – uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House,” Ocasio-Cortez said on Saturday while on a call with Justice Democrats.

The three branches, not chambers, of the U.S. government, are the executive, legislative, and judicial.

Ocasio-Cortez then thought it would be a good idea to bring more attention to the video so all of her followers on Twitter could see that she does not know what she is talking about…

President Trump Refers To Democrat Congressman Adam Schiff As “Little Adam Schitt” On Twitter – Zero Hedge
.

.
President Trump slammed Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) on Sunday, after the likely next chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said that Democrats will challenge the appointment of newly minted Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker.

“So funny to see little Adam Schitt (D-CA) talking about the fact that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker was not approved by the Senate, but not mentioning the fact that Bob Mueller (who is highly conflicted) was not approved by the Senate!,” tweeted Trump.

Schiff told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday “yes and yes” when asked if Democrats would push back against Whitaker’s appointment, and if he is still concerned that Whitaker poses a threat to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation based on past comments…

Pot Dispensaries Authorized To Start Recreational Sales In Massachusetts Starting Tuesday – Washington Times

Marijuana regulators in Massachusetts have authorized a pair of dispensaries to start recreational sales on Tuesday, making the state the seventh in the nation to permit retail pot shops in spite of the plant’s status as a federally prohibited substance.

The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission on Friday notified the operators of two existing medical marijuana dispensaries – Cultivate Holdings in Leicester and New England Treatment Access in Northampton – that they could begin recreational sales effective Nov. 20.

Massachusetts voted in Nov. 2016 to legalize recreational marijuana and launch a system for regulating, taxing and selling the plant, and the two dispensaries are the first approved by the state in accordance with the retail framework drafted during the interim.

“This signal to open retail marijuana establishments marks a major milestone for voters who approved legal, adult-use cannabis in our state,” CCC Chairman Steven Hoffman said in a statement…

Gillum, who withdrew his Nov. 6th concession to DeSantis once the election went to an automatic recount, released an official statement on Facebook saying, “We said we would fight until the last vote is counted. We are now closing out the hand recount phase in two of the statewide races.”

Gillum, who serves as Tallahassee’s mayor, also congratulated Governor-elect DeSantis and thanked his running mate, Chris King, on Twitter Saturday evening…

Ohio House Passes Bill Banning Abortion After Heartbeat Begins – Daily Wire

The pro-life movement won a significant victory in Ohio this week, where the state House passed a bill that would ban abortions on unborn babies after a heartbeat is detected in the womb.

State House Bill 258 passed in a 58-35 vote and now moves to the state Senate for consideration. Should the state Senate approve the bill, most abortions in Ohio would be effectively banned.

“The controversial legislation would ban most abortions in Ohio if it becomes law,” reports LifeNews. “An unborn baby’s heart begins beating around six weeks, though new research suggests it may begin as early as 18 days after conception.”

Abortion providers could also be charged with a felony for breaking the law by killing a baby with a detected heartbeat. Gov. John Kasich vetoed a similar bill in 2016, fearing that a legal challenge would overturn it…

Abrams’ address to her supporters essentially concluded her bid for the governor’s mansion, the final result of which had been in doubt since Election Day, but she noted that she was not officially conceding the race.

While describing a variety of issues at the polls, Abrams said that “the state failed its voters.”

“I acknowledge that former Secretary of State Brian Kemp will be certified as the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election…

Republican Mia Love Jumps Ahead By 419 Votes In Utah House Race – PJ Media

For the first time since Election Day, two-term Republican Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) took the lead in her race against Democratic challenger and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams.

An updated vote count in Utah County Friday pushed her ahead by 419 votes, reversing McAdams’ 1,002-vote lead, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

“This is just the start of Mia’s victory,” said Dave Hansen, Love’s campaign manager. “We will continue to closely monitor the election results.”

Earlier Friday, a judge dismissed a lawsuit Love had filed seeking to stop vote counting in Salt Lake County to allow her campaign to examine the validity of certain votes in the Utah county.

“McAdams has spent the past week in Washington going to House orientation meetings and appearing in the freshman class photo with new lawmakers from across the country,” the Tribune reported…
