Via D.C. Fox affiliate, Fox News 5 “Employee, man brawl inside Chick-fil-A restaurant in DC”:
A man was arrested and a Chick-fil-A employee is out of a job after a fight between the two took place inside a restaurant in D.C.
The incident, which was captured on video, happened Tuesday night at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue in the Tenleytown neighborhood.
According to the police report, a 55-year-old suspect was shouting at customers and he went behind the employee counter. A 27-year-old employee told him to leave and police said the suspect threw a punch at the employee. Then the brawl between the suspect and the employee broke out in front of customers inside the restaurant.
In the video, the employee is seen punching the suspect several times before the fight was broken up by other employees.
Police said the suspect, who was charged with simple assault, was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The employee was not arrested, but did lose his job with Chick-fil-A.
Wow, coming behind the counter and swinging on an employee? Not too bright an idea. The employee defending himself is understandable. Of course, I cannot say without seeing the whole incident, I suppose.
I do recall one time, twenty of more years ago, two guys at a bar/grill I managed. They had had enough to drink, they were cursing, and started to get a bit touchy with the waitress. The bartender cut them off, with good reason, and they freaked out, and refused to pay their tab. I told them they could pay or I could call the police, their choice. At that point one of them decided coming behind the bar was a smart idea. I met the guy at the entrance to the bar, and he turned and retreated. Guess common sense got through to him. He and his buddy decided to pay. All ended well. Of course they stiffed the waitress, because they were assholes. I gave her 30 bucks, because she had damn well earned it. And of course, both these douche nozzles wearing sweater vests, which is just another reason I hate sweater vests.
