Immigrant Advocate Pleads Guilty To Falsely Adding Mexican Children As Dependents On Client’s Tax Return – Daily Caller

An advocate for immigrants pleaded guilty on Friday for falsely adding three Mexican children as dependents on a client’s tax return.

Elias Bermudez, 67, helped immigrants preparing immigration and tax documents, The Associated Press reported. Officials said that Bermudez allegedly told undercover International Revenue Services (IRS) agents, who acted as clients, that they should include false dependents on their tax returns to reduce their liabilities.

Officials also added that Bermudez allegedly encouraged clients to list family members living in Mexico, including children that did not belong to the clients, as dependents, The AP reported. Bermudez allegedly prepared 27 false income tax returns from 2010 to 2012.

Bermudez told U.S. District Judge Diane Humetewa that he made a mistake when filing one tax return that listed the three Mexican children and should have checked whether the children lived in the U.S., the AP reported…

Mother And Brother Of Democratic Socialist Candidate For New York Senate Accuse Her Of Lying About Her Working Class, Immigrant Background – Business Insider
.

.
New York state senate candidate Julia Salazar, an insurgent progressive endorsed by fellow Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is under fire after her mother and brother disputed her accounts of being raised in a working-class, immigrant family.

Salazar, 27, has provided confusing and sometimes contradictory descriptions of her background, including that she was partially raised in Colombia by a single mother who at times struggled to make ends meet – a story her brother, Alex, and mother, Christine, rebutted in a recent City & State story.

“My family immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia when I was a baby, and my mom ended up raising my brother and me as a single mom, without a college degree…

Warrants To Spy On Carter Page Obtained Without FISA Court Hearings, DOJ Filing Reveals – CNS

A Justice Department (DOJ) filing in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request reveals that neither the initial warrant, nor any of its three renewals, to spy on Carter Page were subjected to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) hearing for approval.

On Friday, Judicial Watch announced the DOJ’s filing in response to Judicial Watch’s FOIA request regarding the warrants granted to spy on former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page:

“Judicial Watch today announced that in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the Justice Department (DOJ) admitted in a court filing last night that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court held no hearings on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) spy warrant applications targeting Carter Page, a former Trump campaign part-time advisor who was the subject of four controversial FISA warrants.”…

Federal Judge Rules DACA Illegal, But Refuses To End It – Breitbart
.

.
A Texas federal judge ruled on Friday that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program for illegal aliens violates federal law, but declined the request of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and other states to issue an injunction blocking the program immediately, and instead certified his order for immediate appeal, fast-tracking this case for quick resolution.

In a 117 page opinion, Judge Andrew Hanen of U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas agreed that the attorneys general, led by Paxton, were correct in their interpretation of the law – that the Obama administration’s controversial 2012 executive action violates the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) and impermissibly orders the federal government to ignore American immigration laws…

Leftist-Controlled Detroit Shuts Off Water To 106 Schools After Tests Reveal Kids Drinking Dangerous Levels Of Lead – Washington Times

This week, Detroit Public Schools announced that they will be shutting off drinking water for all 106 schools in the district, after more than half of them tested for dangerous levels of lead and copper.

Superintendent Nikolai Vitti told parents in an email this Tuesday that his office began testing all of the schools his spring, and found that 16 out of 24 of the first schools tested had levels that were far too high for safe consumption.

“Although we have no evidence that there are elevated levels of copper or lead in our other schools (over 50) where we are awaiting test results, out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of our students and employees, I am turning off all drinking water in our schools until a deeper and broader analysis can be conducted to determine the long-term solutions for all schools,” the email stated.

The city’s water and sewage department said that they will be providing water for the students until the municipal water supplies are suitable for consumption…

California Democrats Boycott Of In-N-Out Backfires Spectacularly – Zero Hedge
.

.
A call from the head of the California Democratic Party to boycott In-N-Out Burger over its $25,000 donation to the GOP, appears to have backfired rather spectacularly according to the Los Angeles Times.

Take Anthony Grigore, a true-blue Democrat. But as he waited Thursday at an In-N-Out Burger in El Segundo for his meal, Grigore made it clear party loyalty would only go so far.

Just hours earlier, the head of the California Democratic Party called for a boycott of the famed burger chain after a public filing revealed that the company had recently donated $25,000 to the state’s Republican Party.

“Eating at In-N-Out is such a standard thing to do across California,”…

Retards At PETA Want Maine Officials To Build A Gravestone In Memory Of Thousands Of Lobsters Killed In A Truck Crash – Daily Mail

An animal rights advocate wants to place a roadside memorial in Maine to remember thousands of lobsters killed in a highway wreck.

A member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals filed an application for the memorial earlier on Wednesday to build a large grave to mark the site of a truck crash that resulted in thousands of lobsters spilling out onto a highway.

PETA hopes to memorialize the ‘countless sensitive crustaceans’ who were killed during the August 22 crash in Brunswick, the animal rights group said. The grave would ‘remind everyone that the best way to prevent such tragedies is to go vegan,’ the animal rights group said.

7,000 pounds of live lobsters were destroyed and it’s believed at least 4,500 lobsters died. It’s believed the truck’s driver lost control because of rain. Some of the lobsters died from being crushed, police say…

“People Are Angry”: President Trump Threatens To Intervene In DOJ – Washington Times
.

President Trump threatened Thursday night to intervene in the Justice Department if the agency fails to take action against corrupt Democrats, saying “the whole world is watching.”

Speaking at a campaign rally in Evansville, Indiana, the president told thousands of supporters that the heads of the Justice Department and FBI “have to start doing their job.” He mentioned former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who was investigated but not charged for having a private email server as secretary of State.

“Look at what she’s getting away with,” Mr. Trump said. “But let’s see if she gets away with it. Let’s see. Our Justice Department and our FBI have to start doing their job and doing it right, and doing it now. People are angry.”…

Coca-Cola Buys Britain’s Largest Coffee Chain Costa For $5.1 billion – Circa

Coca-Cola is hoping to give itself another caffeine-fueled boost. The company said Friday it will buy the Costa coffee brand from British firm Whitbread for 3.9 billion pounds ($5.1 billion) in cash. Costa is Britain’s biggest coffee company, with over 2,400 coffee shops in the U.K. and another 1,400 in more than 30 international markets.

The deal, expected to complete in the first half of 2019, plugs a big hole in Coca-Cola’s portfolio, giving it a presence in one of the few beverage markets it doesn’t currently contend in. It could potentially provide stiff competition to the likes of Starbucks.

“Hot beverages is one of the few remaining segments of the total beverage landscape where Coca-Cola does not have a global brand,” said James Quincey, Coca-Cola President & CEO.

In the year to March, Costa made an operating profit of 123 million pounds on sales of 1.29 billion…

NBC News covered up a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, according to sources who spoke to the New York Times and Daily Beast.

“Three days before Ronan [Farrow] and I were going to head to L.A. to interview a woman with a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, I was ordered to stop, not to interview this woman,” an NBC News whistleblower told the far-left New York Times. “And to stand down on the story altogether.”

“Farrow was prepared to fly to California to interview a woman who was going to claim in silhouette on camera that Weinstein had raped her,” reports the far-left Daily Beast. “Farrow wanted to publish this interview and what he had already gathered…

Ripon College Bans 9/11 Memorial Citing Muslims’ Feelings – Zero Hedge

A private Wisconsin college banned students from exhibiting a Sept. 11 memorial fearing that it could foster an anti-Muslim environment on campus.

Ripon College ruled against a display by Young America’s Foundation (YAF) to honor the memory of those killed in the 2001 attacks and to help prevent the events from being forgotten, reported The Washington Examiner. It was part of an annual “Never Forget” project on college campuses around the nation.

The administration claimed that the memorial would create an atmosphere where “students from a Muslim background would feel singled out and/or harassed.”

“There is nothing that this poster, in particular, adds to the conversation about 9/11, or about the politics of terrorism, or about national security or responses to it that couldn’t be done easily and more constructively without it,” said Ripon’s Bias Protocol Board, according to the Examiner…

The Justice Department filed court documents Thursday morning siding with a group of Asian-American students who allege Harvard discriminates against their race in its admissions process.

The Statement of Interest was filed in an ongoing case in federal court in Massachusetts.

“No American should be denied admission to school because of their race. As a recipient of taxpayer dollars, Harvard has a responsibility to conduct its admissions policy without racial discrimination by using meaningful admissions criteria that meet lawful requirements,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement. “The Department of Justice has the responsibility to protect the civil rights of the American people…

Chick-Fil-A Paying Employees To Do Community Service While Owner Remodels Store – Daily Caller

A Plainfield, Indiana Chick-fil-A owner plans to keep his employees busy even while the store is being remodeled this fall – by paying them to do community service.

The restaurant will be closed for the remodel from the end of September through sometime in November, but its 100 employees will be “deployed throughout the area, serving with non-profit organizations including schools, parks and recreation, and Active Grace, a center that helps the homeless transition back to work,” Fox 59 reports.

To owner Chris Spires, it’s just a way to give back to a community that has given so much to him.

“For the past 14 years, I have served the Plainfield community side by side with some amazing Team Members,” Spires told Fox 59. “The support of our amazing community is the reason we are able to expand and renovate our restaurant. We are thrilled to spend some time while we are closed supporting organizations that make Plainfield and the surrounding areas such a wonderful place to live and do business.”…

Giant Sadiq Khan Bikini-Clad Balloon To Fly Over London – BBC
.

.
Protesters have been given permission to fly a bikini-clad blimp of London mayor Sadiq Khan over Westminster. Campaigners raised £58,182 for the 29ft-long ‘baby Khan’, which will fly over Parliament Square on 1 September.

A crowdfunding anti-Khan campaign was launched following the giant Donald Trump baby balloon flown by protesters during the president’s visit in July.

Mr Khan said: “If people want to spend their Saturday looking at me in a yellow bikini they’re welcome to do so. “I don’t really think yellow’s my colour though.”

The giant inflatable – a nod to the ‘Beach Body Ready’ advert Mr Khan banned in 2016 – has been approved by City Hall, the police and air traffic controllers NATS.

Sarah Palin Not Invited To McCain Funeral – Fox News

In 2008, she was chosen to be his running mate – potentially just a heartbeat away from the presidency. But now former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, like President Trump, has been left off the list of invitees to the funeral of the late U.S. Sen. John McCain, according to multiple reports.

“My guess is, it came from Cindy,” a source close to the McCain family told People magazine, referring to the late senator’s widow. “She is very protective of John’s memory and legacy. She’s also a grieving widow. I think she wants to get through this as best she can.”

The message was sent through an intermediary, not directly from the McCain family, according to the report…

By a vote of 44 to 33, lawmakers in the California State Assembly passed SB 100, a bill that calls for the state to transition to emissions-free electricity production in less than three decades. Under the guidelines of the legislation, California must obtain 60 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2030. The state’s electricity generation must be completely carbon free by 2045.

Before heading to Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk, the California state Senate must pass the measure by Friday…

A Brown University Researcher Released A Study About Teens Imitating Their Peers By Turning Trans. The Left Went Insane. So Brown Caved. – Ben Shapiro

This week, Brown University pulled down a news story on a study conducted by a Brown University researcher.

That study focused in on what it described as “rapid-onset gender dysphoria”: gender dysphoria that was not present in early youth, but that manifested within days or weeks in teens and young adults.

The study author, Lisa Littman, assistant professor of the practice of behavioral and social sciences at Brown’s School of Public Health, stated, “This kind of descriptive study is important because it defines a group and raises questions for more research. One of the main conclusions is that more research needs to be done. Descriptive studies aren’t randomized controlled trials – you can’t tell cause and effect, and you can’t tell prevalence. It’s going to take more studies to bring in more information, but this is a start.”

Littman did talk to 250 parents of children who suffered from rapid-onset gender dysphoria…

Chinese Government Killed Or Imprisoned 18-20 CIA Spies After Penetrating Hillary’s Illegal Email Server – Gateway Pundit

The Chinese government killed or imprisoned 18 to 20 CIA operatives in China from 2010 to 2012. At the same time a Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server throughout her term as secretary of state.

The Chinese government was obtaining Hillary Clinton’s emails in real time. Her criminal behavior severely damaged U.S. foreign policy. And the FBI refused to act.

Business Insider reported:

China killed or imprisoned 18 to 20 CIA sources from 2010 to 2012, hobbling U.S. spying operations in a massive intelligence breach whose origin has not been identified, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

Investigators remain divided over whether there was a spy within the Central Intelligence Agency who betrayed the sources or whether the Chinese hacked the CIA’s covert communications system, the newspaper reported, citing current and former U.S. officials…

Winning: U.S. Economic Growth Revised Up To 4.2% For The 2nd Quarter – BBC
.

.
The U.S. economy grew at a faster pace than initially thought in the second quarter, according to revised figures. The Commerce Department’s second estimate for the April-June period put growth at an annualised 4.2%, slightly up from the previous figure of 4.1%.

It was the best quarterly figure for nearly four years and put the economy on track to hit the Trump government’s goal of 3% annual growth. The news helped send Wall Street share markets higher.

Many economists had forecast a downward revision of growth to about 4%. On a non-annualised basis, the economy grew 1% during the quarter. During the same period, the UK economy grew 0.4%…

Reports: Bruce Ohr Testimony Reveals More FBI Corruption – Breitbart

The closed-door testimony of Justice Department official Bruce Ohr before House investigators Tuesday revealed new details about the FBI information-gathering steps both prior to and during its surveillance of the Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016.

Ohr, the Justice Department’s director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces, has emerged as a key figure in “Spygate,” the ongoing scandal surrounding an alleged FBI-led plot to surveil then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign in an unprecedented effort to thwart the real estate tycoon’s White House bid.

According to House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Ohr confirmed the FBI “privately” re-engaged Trump dossier author Christopher Steele and continued receiving additional information, despite terminating its relationship with the former British intelligence agent.

“This was after suggesting to the American public they had cut Steele off,” Meadows noted…
