Home Depot Inc. announced its second-quarter earnings on Tuesday, exceeding Wall Street’s expectations as the U.S. housing market and strong economic outlook continue through August.

The home improvement supplies retail giant reported a $3.51 billion profit, amounting to $3.05 per share – beating forecasts of $2.84 by Zacks Investment Research. The Atlanta company’s revenue grew to $30.46 billion from $28.11 billion, beating analyst’s projections of $29.98 billion.

Home Depot sales have accelerated more broadly thanks to a strong housing market in the U.S. and economic tailwinds. Consumer spending on home improvement items hasn’t fluctuated as much as on apparel,” CNBC reports. Same-store sales jumped 8.1 percent in the U.S. and 8 percent globally…

In a review of 140 health insurance policies sold in 2014, the inspector general found that Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services improperly paid out financial assistance payments for 26 policies. For the other five policies, CMS authorized possibly improper financial assistance to insurers that didn’t provide the right documentation…

Investigative Journalist Jen Moore was found dead in a suburban Washington D.C. hotel room Monday, according to police and shocked and distraught friends and colleagues.

Iowa Supreme Court Closes Warrant Loophole, Slams U.S. Supreme Court For Weakening Fourth Amendment – Forbes

The Iowa Supreme Court ruled that impounding a car and conducting an inventory search without a warrant violated the Iowa Constitution’s protection against “unreasonable searches and seizures.”

Although the Iowa Constitution’s provision is similarly worded to the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Iowa Supreme Court decided to “stake out higher constitutional ground” and “reach results different from current United States Supreme Court precedent under parallel provisions.”

Writing for the majority, Justice Brent Appel noted that his court is the “ultimate arbiter” for the meaning of the Iowa Constitution, and repeatedly chastised the U.S. Supreme Court for seeking “to minimize the scope of individual protection under the Fourth Amendment.”

Not only is this decision a victory for private property and civil liberties, the case is a potent reminder for how state constitutions can better protect individual rights when federal courts refuse to do so…

Feds Spend $30,257 To Help Transgenders Change Their Voice – Washington Free Beacon

The National Institutes of Health is spending over $30,000 to develop an app that provides voice coaching for transgender individuals.

The funding is going towards a thesis project of a PhD student at Northeastern University, whose computer work is “primarily motivated by social justice issues.”

“Voice training is a complex clinical practice that involves collaboration with a speech therapist to determine an individual’s needs and goals,” according to the grant for the project. “It typically consists of personalized sessions that support individuals in changing their voices (such as modifying pitch, resonance, or speech patterns).”

“The reasons why people may pursue voice training are varied, but often includes discomfort with voice being misaligned with gender identity,” the grant states. “People may experience pressure to conform to a certain type of voice, and training may be inaccessible due to health disparities in particular minority populations.”…

Muslim Extremists Accused Of Training Children To Be School Shooters Released On Bail By Leftist Judge – Daily Caller
.

.
A New Mexico state judge ruled Monday that five alleged Muslim extremists accused of training children to conduct school shootings do not have to remain in jail while they await trial for child abuse.

Judge Sarah Backus released the five defendants, Siraj Wahhaj, Hujrah Wahhaj, Subhannah Wahhaj, Jany Leveille, and Lucas Morten, on a $20,000 “signature bond,” according to the Albuquerque Journal. That means that the defendants will not have to pay money unless they violate the conditions of their release.

Backus said that New Mexico state prosecutors were unable to show that the five defendants should have their bail denied because they posed a threat to the community…

Trump Signs New Defense Policy Bill That Rebuilds Military, Boosts Troop Pay – Washington Times

President Trump signed a $716 billion defense bill Monday that authorizes hundreds of new planes, ships and tanks – and delivers a substantial victory to the administration by watering down penalties on a Chinese telecom company.

The law adds thousands of troops to the size of the military, raises pay, modernizes the U.S. nuclear arsenal and lays the groundwork for Mr. Trump’s proposed “space force,” in what the president called “the most significant investment in our military, and in our war fighters, in modern history.”

“After years of devastating cuts, we’re now rebuilding our military like never before,” Mr. Trump said while signing the National Defense Authorization Act at Fort Drum, New York. “Every day our military was fighting for us, and now we’re fighting for you.”

The bill draws up policies to carry out the massive cash infusion lawmakers agreed to earlier this year for the military, ending years of budget “sequestration” caps under President Obama…

More Than Half Of Foreign Refugees Are On Taxpayer-Funded Food Stamps – Breitbart
.

.
More than half of the annual inflow of foreign refugees arriving in the United States are on food stamps, a government report reveals.

Since 2008, as Breitbart News reported, the U.S. has permanently resettled more than 1.7 million foreign nationals and refugees through a variety of humanitarian programs like the Special Immigrant Juveniles and the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act. This is a foreign population larger than Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – a city with more than 1.5 million residents.

An annual report by the Office of Refugee Resettlement was analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Jason Richwine, in which the analyst revealed that about 56 percent of households headed by foreign refugees who arrived in the U.S. between 2011 and 2015 are using taxpayer-funded food stamps…

11-Year-Old Kid Hacks Florida Elections Website Replica – Gateway Pundit

As the left repeatedly tells everyone that there is no such thing as voter fraud and that the government websites are safe from tampering, an 11-year-old boy hacked into a true replica of the Florida secretary of state website, successfully changing vote tallies, candidate names, and party information, as part of an exercise put on at a hacking convention called DEFCON Voting Village, with this apparently being the 26th edition.

In fact, according to the convention organizers, 35 out of 39 kids, aged 9-17, were able to accomplish this. DEFCON reports that the Diebold machines that the states use to tally votes were running on expired SSL certificates.

The drill was part of a test for vulnerabilities in multiple states’ voting systems, and the kids were “good guy hackers” to help formulate preventative measures to stop real hacking.

These “good guy hackers” are known as “penetration testers” or “pentesters” and it’s common for large companies to hire such employees so that if any exploitations are possible, at the least the people finding them would be working for the company and not malicious hackers…

Sweden Is Burning: Migrant Gangs Unleash Coordinated Fire-Bomb Rampage Across Multiple Cities – Zero Hedge
.

.
Many Swedes were horrified in early 2017 when U.S. President Donald Trump linked immigration to rising crime in Sweden, but an increasing number now agree with him.

Amid soaring crime rates, gang violence, complaints about education, and pregnant mothers even being turned away from maternity wards due to a lack of capacity, resentment in Sweden has built over the influx of more than 600,000 immigrants over the past five years.

And tonight is one of the worst night for violence in recent history as police report multiple gangs of masked youths rampaging across three major Swedish cities, setting cars on fire in what seems like a coordinated action…

FBI Finally Fires Lying Sack Of Worm Guts Peter Strzok – Breitbart
.

.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) terminated special agent Peter Strzok on Friday, according to reports.

Strzok’s attorney, Aitan Goelman, says the firing was ordered by FBI Deputy Director David L. Bowdich, after the department which oversees personal disciplinary matters ruled the disgraced FBI agent would face a “demotion and 60-day suspension.”

Strzok was one primary subject in the highly anticipated Justice Department inspector general report released in July on the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) handling of Hillary Clinton email investigation, which found the now-fired agent possessed a “biased state of mind” and a “willingness to take action” during the probe…

Gallup Poll: 57 Percent Of Democrats Love Them Some Socialism – Daily Caller

Democrats have a more positive view of socialism than they do of capitalism, a Gallup poll published Monday reveals.

Fifty-seven percent of Democrats view socialism favorably, while just 47 percent of Democrats have a positive view of capitalism, according to the poll. In contrast, 71 percent of Republicans have a positive view of capitalism, while just 16 percent viewed socialism favorably.

Monday’s poll was “the first time in Gallup’s measurement over the past decade that Democrats viewed socialism more favorably than capitalism,” the polling firm noted. The landmark poll comes as socialists are ascendant in the Democratic Party.

At least two members of the Democratic Socialists of America – a radical group rife with Marxists – could be headed to Congress. Socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked the political world when she upset incumbent Democratic New York Rep. Joe Crowley…

After 24-Hour Delay. NASA Finally Launches Its $1.5 Billion Parker Solar Probe On An Hstoric Mission To The Sun – Daily Mail
.

.
NASA has finally sent a spacecraft on a mission to fly where no probe has ever gone before – into the sun’s scorching outer atmosphere. The probe took off at 3.31 ET (8.31 BST) this morning. It was initially set to launch at 3.33am ET (8.33am BST) yesterday, but poor conditions meant it was pushed back 24-hours.

The unmanned spacecraft is on an unprecedented quest that will take it straight through the edges of the corona, or outer solar atmosphere, just 3.8million miles from the sun’s surface. Previously, the closest an aircraft had come to the sun was 27million miles.

The $1.5billion (£1.17billion) Parker Probe blasted off atop one of the most powerful rockets in the world…

Dutch Official Commits Suicide After Posting Video Claiming She Was Gang-Raped By Muslims – Fox News

A Dutch city council member reportedly committed suicide just hours after posting a video online in which she claimed to have been gang-raped by a group of Muslims who were following the orders of a former fellow member of her anti-immigration PVV party.

Willie Dille, a 53-year-old who represented the PVV in parliament from 2010 to 2012 and later became a city councilor at The Hague, killed herself Wednesday after she “could no longer bear what had happened to her and the reactions she had had,” local PVV leader Karen Gerbrands told Dutch News.

In a video Dille reportedly posted online earlier in the day, she claimed former PVV parliament member Arnoud van Doorn – who apparently disliked her – ordered the attack, which allegedly happened in early 2017.

The video reportedly showed Dille pale and thin-ooking. She claimed she was told by the attackers to keep quiet in the council debating chamber, amongst other threats she said to have received…

Acquitted Bundy Defendants File $60 Million Lawsuit Against Corrupt Prosecutors, FBI And BLM – Washington Standard

There is good news today, though it would only be sweeter if the individuals who engaged in the lawlessness that they engaged in were actually held accountable rather than the taxpayers they are supposed to serve.

Nevertheless, a $60 million lawsuit was filed on behalf of two men who faced multiple charges in the 2014 Bundy Ranch protest against federal lawlessness in 2014.

Both Rick Lovelien and Steven Stewart are being represented by attorney Larry Klayman, who is also representing rancher Cliven Bundy in his fight against the Justice Department as they seek to overturn the dismissal of his trial and retry him again. Both many faced numerous accounts and were acquitted of all charges.

Klayman announced the filing of the lawsuit, which names federal prosecutors Steven Myhre, Daniel Schiess and Nadia Ahmed of the U.S. Attorney in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Neil Kornze, the FBI, and BLM as defendants…

A Democratic candidate for Congress ranted that he hated the county he is now running to represent, as he was arrested for drunk driving in Georgia. Steven Lamar Foster, 61, was arrested on September 23 of last year and held nothing back as cops cuffed him.

New police dash cam footage reveals how Foster insulted Whitfield County, where he’s worked for over a decade. Six months later he launched a campaign to represent the district.

‘Eleven years I served this county. I hate this county. I prayed to God that he would curse it. And guess what? He did,’ he said in the arrest footage. ‘Man, I saw it hit and cursed, and I saw people laid off right and left – white people. I hate this county,’ he added…

ICE Nets 133 Illegal Aliens In Alleged Worker Exploitation Scam – Washington Times

Federal authorities Thursday announced the arrest of 13 people they say were ringleaders in a massive scheme to exploit illegal immigrants as cheap labor on farms and Hispanic-oriented businesses in Minnesota and Nebraska.

They also carried out search warrants on 11 of the businesses Wednesday and nabbed 133 illegal immigrant workers they found at the time.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said they suspect some of the migrants were coerced into working in rough conditions, either by force or threats of being reported to authorities for deportation.

The migrants were forced to cash their paychecks at a remittance business run by the scammers, and had taxes taken from their paychecks, even though the businesses didn’t actually send the money to the IRS, officials said…
