Douchebag Waiter Admits Faking Viral Racist Note On Receipt – Daily Mail

A Texas waiter who claimed to have been stiffed by a racist customer now admits he made the whole thing up. Saltgrass Steak House waiter Khalil Cavil went viral after posting a Facebook picture of a racist note that Cavil claimed a customer had left on the receipt, in lieu of a tip.

“I don’t tip terrorist,” the note read, alongside a circle of Cavil’s name.

Cavil’s Facebook post racked up thousands of shares and earned sympathetic coverage in The Washington Post and HuffPost, which were forced to post corrections atop their stories on Monday after Cavil admitted he fabricated the viral note.

“I did write it,” Cavil told the Odessa American, a local Texas paper, on Monday. “I don’t have an explanation. I made a mistake. There is no excuse for what I did.”

Cavil’s admission came after Saltgrass – which at first banned the offending customer for life – admitted that its investigation found the waiter had faked the note…

North Korea Begins Dismantling Key Launching Facilities, Report Says – Daily Wire
.

.
North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un has reportedly started dismantling key launching facilities in response to the June 12 Singapore Summit where he and President Donald Trump discussed denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.

Satellite images from July 20 and July 22 show that the North Koreans have begun dismantling facilities at their Sohae Satellite Launching Station, which experts believe played a major role in their development of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

38 North reports that the “roof and supporting structure” of a “rail-mounted processing/transfer structure” have been partially removed as “numerous vehicles are present – including a large construction crane.”…

Private Pension Product, Sold By Felon, Wipes Investors Out – Wall Street Journal

Scott Kohn, a 64-year-old felon, ran a company from a Nevada strip-mall mailbox that investors claim took them for more than $100 million in losses.

Mr. Kohn’s company, Future Income Payments, appears shut, according to court filings. His investors are likely to be wiped out, according to lawyers representing them, who plan to sue scores of firms that sold Future Income products as soon as this week. At least 25 states have taken enforcement actions or are investigating the company, it said in April.

The blow-up shines a light on the boom in opaque private markets, to which investors have flocked in the hope of doing better than they can in traditional stock and bond markets.

Private-market products, including the ones offered by Future Income, are frequently sold by financial advisers. Sales targets are often retirees looking to beat the anemic returns on bonds and other savings products. Future Income essentially sold investors other people’s pensions…

Lockheed Adds 1,800 Workers To Ramp Up F-35 Fighter Production – Washington Examiner
.

.
Lockheed Martin will add 400 workers to boost production of the F-35 fighter jet, the most expensive in U.S. history, after making a good on an earlier promise to President Trump to increase the aircraft’s workforce by 1,800.

“The F-35 is an iconic product,” Lockheed Chief Executive Officer Marillyn Hewson said in a statement. “The program supports 194,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide, and as we ramp up production we are creating even more opportunities for American workers.”

Lockheed, based in Bethesda, Md., trumped rival defense contractor Boeing for the right to develop the aircraft in 2001, the first year of George W. Bush’s presidency. The stealthy, supersonic plane was designed to replace aging fighter jets such as the Air Force’s F-16s and the Navy’s F/A-18s…

Half Of New York Daily News Editorial Staff Gets The Ax – USA Today

The New York Daily News has had its editorial staff cut in half after layoffs announced Monday by publisher Tronc.

Among the employees departing are editor-in-chief Jim Rich and managing editor Kristen Lee. Robert York, currently the editor at Tronc-owned The Morning Call in Allentown, Pennsylvania, will become the new editor-in-chief July 30, employees learned from an email sent by the Chicago-based media company.

Tronc, which also owns the Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun and Orlando Sentinel, acquired the Daily News last year for one dollar. The tabloid, founded in 1919, faced “significant financial challenges,” said the Tronc email to employees.

As a result, the Daily News would see its editorial team reduced by 50 percent and coverage would refocused on “breaking news–especially in areas of crime, civil justice and public responsibility,” employees were told…

All The President’s Hacks: Media Fake News Fueled Obama’s Watergate – Daniel Greenfield
.

.
When Hillary Clinton cites the “intelligence community assessment” to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the presidential election, she’s really repeating her own lie, that her campaign created, rolled through the media and the government, which used it to spy on the Trump campaign, and then finally became an “assessment” under orders from Obama carried out by political allies like Clapper and Brennan.

The media, which once boasted of exposing Watergate, had played a key role in Obama’s Watergate.

The release of a redacted FISA warrant application exposes the fact that the spying on Carter Page, a figure associated with the Trump campaign, relied on no sources other than Democrats and media allies…

Lesbians Demand ‘L’ Be Removed From LGBT – WorldNetDaily

It’s open warfare now between the “L” and the “T” of the LGBT movement. An organization for lesbians has launched a formal online blast at LGBT activists for calling them “transphobes” and they want the LGBT coalition to drop the “L.”

The lesbians argue they are women attracted to women and there’s no room for men who claim they are women. Biology does make a difference, a big difference, they insist, and it’s not enough to simply “identify” as being of a particular gender.

The argument appeared in a letter the Lesbian Rights Alliance in the United Kingdom recently posted online that was directed toward Stonewall, the U.K. organization that campaigns for LGBT causes.

“Stonewall does not recognize or represent the many young women who reject conventional feminine stereotypes in appearance and sex roles, and who become lesbians at puberty,” the letter charged…

Liz Warren’s Republican Opponent Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai Assaulted By Crazed Leftist – American Mirror
.

.
Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, Elizabeth Warren’s Republican opponent, was attacked by a silver-haired snowflake, as he stood across the street from a Warren event with a megaphone.

Video tweeted by Shiva shows him speaking into the bullhorn, denouncing Warren.

“We don’t produce enough engineers. We don’t produce enough doctors. We just produce enough scum bag lawyer lobbyists like Elizabeth Warren,” he said.

As Warren supporters jeered Shiva, he engaged them, calling one of them “racist.”

The video shows a man, who crossed the street to engage Shiva, shoving the megaphone into his face, then being subdued by one of Shiva’s supporters…

Socialist Hellhole Update: In Venezuela, Public Buses Give Way To Private ‘Dog Carts’ – PRI

On a recent afternoon, a crowd of hundreds massed on the sidewalk outside an exit from the subway in the central Venezuelan city of Valencia.

But when a flatbed truck previously used to transport water bottles pulled up nearby, a ruthless scramble kicked off with pregnant women, parents holding toddlers and elderly Venezuelans all jostling to get themselves aboard.

In this once-thriving industrial city as in much of the country, public buses have gradually disappeared due to scarce or prohibitively expensive tires, motor oil, batteries and spare parts.

Cargo trucks of all shapes and sizes have taken their place, but most lack even basic safety protections for human cargo and are increasingly associated with accidents and injuries to passengers, a further sign of the deteriorating quality of life in the crisis-stricken country…

The Clinton State Department’s Major Security Breach That Everyone Is Ignoring – Hans Von Spakovsky
.

.
Peter Strzok’s testimony about the email server scandal involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton raised headlines because of his defiant, disrespectful, and unapologetic attitude about the bias revealed in his text messages that permeated his work at the FBI.

Then, there was the verbal combat between him and Republican members of the two committees holding the joint hearing, and between the Republicans and Democratic members who were running interference for Strzok and acting as his defense counsel.

The news media jumped on an exchange in which Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, asked Strzok if he lied to his wife about his affair with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page in the same way as he was in testifying to Congress…

Michigan Town Inaugurates Feline Mayor – WPBN

The Village of Omena inaugurated its fourth mayor Saturday morning, a 9-year-old cat named Sweet Tart. Omena has had a four-legged mayor for more than a decade, and has used the election to raise money for its historical society.

Votes are cast through $1 donations. This year, proceeds from more than 7,000 votes go straight to the Omena Historical Society’s endowment fund.

“This is by far our largest total,” said Keith Disselkoen, the society’s president. “We suspect that there were many votes coming from outside of the immediate area because of our internet reach and because of our publicity and because of the ability to receive votes from PayPal. It’s really expanded the number of people that have participated.”

Sweet Tart campaigned against 13 dogs, a peacock, a goat, a chicken and another cat, all of which were awarded positions in the village council. The new mayor won’t have to make many administrative decisions…

Trump To Iranian President: “Never, Ever Threaten The United States Again Or You Will Suffer Consequences The Likes Of Which Few Throughout History Have Ever Suffered Before” – Zero Hedge

President Donald Trump launched a new verbal attack against Iran’s president Rouhani, vowing “consequences the likes of which few have ever suffered before” if Hassan Rouhani continues threatening America in a late-night Sunday all caps tweet.

In the tweet, addressed to Rouhani, Trump said, “To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

Trump’s threat was in response to the earlier warning by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who on Sunday warned the U.S. not to provoke Iran or halt Iranian oil exports, saying that “Americans must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars” adding that “it would only lead to regret.”…

Johnny Football Traded By CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats To Montreal Alouettes – USA Today
.

.
Johnny Manziel has been traded by the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats to the Montreal Alouettes. The Tiger-Cats and Alouettes announced Sunday the multi-player deal that included the 2012 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.

Stuck behind incumbent quarterback Jeremiah Masoli on the Tiger-Cats’ depth chart, Manziel was relegated to backup duty in his first season in the CFL. In Montreal, however, Manziel will be reunited with coach Mike Sherman, whose final season at Texas A&M was also Manziel’s redshirt season in 2011. Sherman is in his first season with the Alouettes.

The Alouettes are off to a 1-4 start this season and have scored the fewest number of points (69) while allowing a league-high 148 points…

Senate Dems Hit Kavanaugh For Proposal They Themselves Supported – Washington Free Beacon

Prominent Democrats have slammed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for supporting an end to the independent counsel statute, even though they themselves backed precisely the same proposal decades ago.

Kavanaugh has drawn criticism for a 2016 video in which he said he would “put the final nail” in a 1988 Supreme Court ruling that upheld the creation of an independent counsel, responsible for investigating wrongdoing by the executive branch and therefore independent of it (unlike, for example, the Attorney General).

It was under the auspices of this office that Ken Starr investigated then-President Bill Clinton’s wrongdoing in the Whitewater affair – a project on which Kavanaugh, then a young lawyer, worked.

The constitutionality of the independent counsel was upheld in 1988’s Morrison v. Olson, but Kavanaugh and other critics have long-pointed to Justice Antonin Scalia’s lone dissent as an argument against the office…

Judge Rules Against Stripping Convicted Terrorist Of U.S. Citizenship – Fox News
.

.
A federal judge ruled against stripping away the U.S. citizenship of a convicted terrorist tied to a plot to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge, citing a lack of evidence to prove that the status had been granted based on misrepresentations.

Iyman Faris, 49, was sentenced in 2003 for aiding and abetting al-Qaida by scoping out the iconic New York bridge as a part of a plot to cut through the cables supporting the structure. He had met with Osam bin Laden in Afghanistan and worked with 9/11 architect Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Faris is set to be released on Dec. 23, 2020, but a court filing last year in a U.S. District Court argued that Faris lied on immigration papers and that his terrorist affiliations demonstrated a lack of commitment to the Constitution…

Gowdy: If Collusion Evidence Existed, Adam Schiff Would Have Leaked It – Daily Caller

South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy said Sunday that, after 18 months of congressional investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government, he has yet to see a “scintilla” of evidence showing that there was coordination between the two sides.

The Republican also said it is unlikely that any Democrat has seen evidence of collusion because if they had, California Rep. Adam Schiff would have already leaked it.

“I have not seen one scintilla of evidence that this president colluded, conspired, confederated with Russia, and neither has anyone else, or you may rest assured Adam Schiff would have leaked it,” Gowdy said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

“That’s why they’ve moved off of collusion onto obstruction of justice, which is now their current preoccupation,” he added…

Police have arrested a man and are appealing for information from the public after a three-year-old boy was seriously injured in a suspected acid attack.

Critical Mass: 17 States Now Disobeying Feds, Will Grow Hemp Despite It Being Illegal – Free Thought Project

While the federal government has spent years classifying hemp as a dangerous drug because it derives from the cannabis plant – even though it is not a drug at all – more than 70 percent of the states in the country have passed laws legalizing industrial hemp production and farmers in more than 30 percent of states have taken part in producing industrial hemp, even with the threat of federal prosecution.

Instead of bowing down to the federal government, states across the country have started to fight back, and farmers in 17 states – California, Colorado, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming – have obtained state licenses to produce industrial hemp for commercial purposes.

A report from the National Conference of State Legislators also revealed more than half of the country, or 35 states, have passed laws legalizing industrial hemp production…
