Dear Rep. Diane Black, please, please shut up!

Stupid hurts, especially when it comes from the right

Rep. Diane Black, a Republican candidate to be the next Tennessee governor, said last week that the decline of family support systems and the rise of pornography is the “root cause” of school shootings.

“How many of you when you were in school ever had an experience where a kid came to school with a gun? . . . Never happened,” Black said during a listening session with ministers at Safe Harbor of Clarksville, Tenn. The audio recording was obtained by The Tennessean and first reported by The Huffington Post.

“Why do we see kids being so violent? What’s out there? What makes them do that? Because as a nurse, I go back to root causes.”

“I think it’s deterioration of the family,” Black said. Citing the expression, “idle hands are the devil’s workshop,” Black said that without a family support structure, teens turn to the Internet, violent movies and pornography.

“Pornography, it’s available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but there’s pornography there,” she said. “All of this is available without parental guidance. And I think that is a big part of the root cause that we see so many young people that have mental illness get caught in these places.”

Really? They have porn in grocery stores in Tennessee? REALLY? Porn? Shut up! Girls in bikinis,or lingerie is not porn, so again shut up!

Look, I am not defending porn. But a mentally stable person is not going to be led to shoot up schools because of porn, or violent game sor movies. Wanna know how I know? Tens of millions of people ingest violent content, and porn, and harm no one! The key is that some people are sick. They might get an idea from a movie, book, play, whatever. Normal people do not act like this. It is the sick mind, or maybe evil mind that leads to committing such acts. The more we insist on blaming guns, videos, music, porn, etc, the more we bury our heads in the sand.

As far as blaming the breakdown of the family, well, that leads to many issues, no doubt, but mass shootings? Frankly, there are VERY FEW mass shootings, so if the dissolution of the traditional family caused school shootings, there would be far far more of them!

Hey, do teens especially boys watch porn, etc. Sure, and almost all of them do not shoot anyone, so……… Those same teens play LOTS of violent video games, and watch violent movies, and shoot no one, so please apply some common damn sense

People have got to comes to grips that blaming evil acts on anything except the person committing such acts is foolish. So just stop!
