President Trump Orders Expulsion Of 60 Russian Diplomats, Closure Of Russian Consulate – WNEP

President Donald Trump is ordering the expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle, Washington, in the wake of the UK nerve agent attack, the White House announced Monday.

The President is taking the action in response to the poisonings of a former Russian double agent and his daughter in England, the administration announced.

Forty-eight of the diplomats work at the Russian embassy and a dozen at the United Nations in New York. They and their families will have seven days to leave the country.

“The United States takes this action in conjunction with our NATO allies and partners around the world in response to Russia’s use of military grade chemical weapons on the soil of the United Kingdom, the latest in this ongoing pattern of destabilizing activities around the world,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said…

Russian Shopping Mall Fire Kills 64; No Alarms Reported – Circa

With the fire alarms silent and staff reportedly nowhere to be seen, a fire at a shopping mall packed with children and their parents on the first weekend of the school recess killed 64 people in Russia’s Siberia.

The fire at the Winter Cherry mall in Kemerovo, a city about 3,000 kilometers (1,900 miles) east of Moscow, was extinguished by Monday morning after burning through the night. Firefighters were still recovering bodies as parts of the buildings were still smoldering. Some of the dead were found inside a cinema, which one witness said had been locked shut.

On Monday morning, Kemerovo residents were bringing flowers, candles and stuffed animals to a plaza outside the mall, and local hospitals reported an influx of people wanting to donate blood for the victims.

Sixty-four deaths were confirmed after the firefighters finished combing through the four floors of the mall, Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov told a televised briefing. Six of the bodies have not yet been recovered…

Reports Of Christianity’s Death In Europe Have Been Greatly Exaggerated – John D. Martin

Since the 2007 publication of Philip Jenkin’s “God’s Continent: Christianity, Islam and Europe’s Religious Crisis,” observers of religious trends in European culture have been keeping a close eye on developments that might validate his sanguine view that Europe could see a revival in Christian belief. Richard J. Neuhaus, in his review of it in First Things at the time, thought the view was “too roseate.”

That was then. In the ten years since Neuhaus taking his final leave of the stage of this world, there have been increasing signs of a real and sustained Christian revival in Europe, hardly reported and barely noticed in press across the pond. Taking a look at the landscape and starting in far west, there are signs of revival in Spain, as Filip Mazurczak noted.

He comments specifically on the growth in the Catholic Church, which is recovering after years of decline in commitment and attendance:

According to Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), the proportion of Spaniards attending Mass has increased from 12.1 to 15 percent between 2011 and 2012…

Texas Muslims Beat Daughter, Poured Hot Cooking Oil On Her For Refusing Arranged Marriage – Jihad Watch
.

.
Abdulah Fahmi Al Hishmawi and Hamdiyah Saha Al Hishmawi were raised in a culture of violence that calls for the beating of disobedient women.

The Qur’an says: “Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” (Qur’an 4:34)

And in a hadith, Aisha, Muhammad’s child bride, says that Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?” (Sahih Muslim 2127)…

History has been made as the first Qantas flight from Perth to London landed on Sunday morning in England following its departure from Australia on Saturday night. The flight was scheduled to last 17 hours and 20 minutes and landed triumphantly at Heathrow Airport at 5.10am after the historical 9,000 mile journey.

Self-Taught Rocket Scientist Who Thinks The Earth Is Flat Launches Himself 1,875 Feet Into The California Sky – NBC News
.

.
He finally went up – just like the self-taught rocket scientist always pledged he would. He came back down in one piece, too – a little dinged up and his steam-powered vessel a little cracked up.

Still, mission accomplished for a guy more daredevil than engineer, who drew more comparisons to the cartoon character Wile E. Coyote from his critics than he did to iconic stunt man Evel Knievel.

“Mad” Mike Hughes, the rocket man who believes the Earth is flat, propelled himself about 1,875 feet into the air Saturday before a hard landing in the Mojave Desert. He told The Associated Press that outside of an aching back he’s fine after the launch near Amboy, California…

Anti-American, Gun-Grabbing Leftists March On Washington Protected By Heavily Armed Police And National Guardsmen – Daily Wire

On Saturday, thousands of left-leaning people descended on the streets of Washington, D.C. to demand gun control as they were surrounded by a heavy presence of “good guys with guns.” It was a truly ironic scene.

In a piece compiled by Twitchy, a presence of heavily-armed local law enforcement officials and members of the National Guard were on scene to protect those rallying against guns, claiming they make American less safe.

The #MarchForOurLives gun control rally is being heavily pushed by left-wing groups like Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, which are bent on taking away the constitutional rights of law-abiding American citizens.

The event is also being used as an optical moment for a political movement, as The Hill reports that “MTV announced the effort on Twitter, saying the network is teaming up with the NAACP and celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Jimmy Fallon, Carmelo Anthony and Halsey to sponsor 17 busloads of youth from communities impacted by gun violence.”…

.

.
ncoming National Security Advisor John Bolton and people close to him are expected to launch a massive shake-up at the National Security Council, aiming to remove dozens of current White House officials, starting with holdovers from President Barack Obama’s administration, according to multiple sources.

Those targeted for removal include officials believed to have been disloyal to President Donald Trump, those who have leaked about the president to the media, his predecessor’s team, and those who came in under Obama.

“Bolton can and will clean house,” one former White House official said. Another source said, “He is going to remove almost all the political [appointees] McMaster brought in.”

A second former White House official offered a blunt assessment of former Obama officials currently detailed or appointed to the NSC: “Everyone who was there during Obama years should start packing their shit.”…

Ten Algerian Migrants Arrested In Spain For Sexually Abusing Underage Girls – Breitbart

Ten Algerian migrant men were arrested in eastern Spain this week after they were alleged to have sexually abused three underage girls by luring them to an apartment offering drugs and money.

The ten migrants were brought to court on charges of sexual abuse in the city of Alicante, where they are believed to have sexually molested and assaulted three girls aged 14, 15, and 17, Le Point reports.

The men are said to have met the young girls and offered them both drugs and money to come back with them to an apartment in the city. All three of the girls, according to the Spanish police, had run away from a boarding school for troubled young people shortly before they met the group of migrant men.

A police statement about the affair stated that one of the girls “was locked up for 24 hours, during which group members assaulted her and sexually abused her repeatedly.”…

Trump Effect: U.S. Added 700,000 New Millionaires In 2017 – USA Today
.

.
The number of millionaire households in the U.S. jumped by more than 700,000 last year, thanks to surging stock prices and housing values, according to a new report.

The U.S. now has more than 11 million millionaire households, according to Spectrem Group, up more than 6% from 2016. The number of new millionaires and the total population of millionaires set records. Spectrem defines millionaire households as those with at least $1 million in investible assets, not including primary residence.

“It was the equity markets that really pulled these folks up,” said George Walper, president of Spectrem Group. “This is the group that has the most equity holdings, so the biggest change is at the high end.”…

Trump’s Pentagon Deep-Sixes Obama’s Transgender Ideology – Breitbart

President Donald Trump’s Pentagon chief is reversing the pro-transgender policy set by former President Barack Obama and will reject soldiers or recruits who demand to be classified as members of the other sex.

The Pentagon’s rejection of the transgender ideology pushed by Obama is a huge win for the feminist and conservative groups who want to preserve the legal and civic distinctions between the two equal, different and complementary male and female biological sexes.

The rejection of Obama’s policy prompted emotional protests from progressives who wish to outlaw and stigmatize the distinctions between women and men, and between girls and boys. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the House’s minority leader, described the revived policy as a “hateful” insult to “our brave transgender members of the military who serve with honor & dignity.”

In their immediate response, progressive advocates tried to smear Trump’s defense of sexual distinctions as “bigotry.”…

Florida Governor Scott Signs Bill Allowing Permanent Daylight Saving Time – WTXL
.

.
Governor Rick Scott has signed a bill that would allow the entire state of Florida remain in Daylight Saving Time year-round. The Governor’s Press Office made the announcement Friday.

Though Scott has signed the Sunshine Protection Act to declare the Legislature’s intent to observe Daylight Saving Time year-round, it falls on Congress to amend existing federal law to allow the change.

If also approved by Congress, Florida will no longer set their clocks back in the fall with the rest of the Eastern United States and will instead see more sunlight in winter.

Along with the Sunshine Protection Act, Scott has signed another 73 bills into law, to include a bill that increases penalties for animal cruelty…

House Ethics Committee Finds Democrats Rush And Gutiérrez In Violation – Roll Call

The House Ethics Committee released two separate findings Thursday involving Illinois Democrats implicated in separate infractions.

The panel found that Rep. Bobby L. Rush has improperly accepted free office space in a Chicago shopping center over the course of two decades, while Rep. Luis V. Gutiérrez used his member’s representational allowance – his congressional office’s set budget – to pay former chief of staff, Doug Scofield, through his communications firm.

Though the committee found Gutiérrz’s actions unintentional, it ordered him to pay back $9,700 to the Treasury.

Rush’s violation was a different story.

“Following its investigation, the Committee concluded that the rent-free office space was a gift to Representative Rush, which he accepted in violation of House rules and federal law,” the Ethics report reads…

Donald Trump Signs Bloated $1.3 Trillion Omnibus Bill, Cites Military Funding – Breitbart
.

.
President Donald Trump signed Congress’s $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill on Friday afternoon, despite widespread criticism of the legislation from his supporters. The president described the 2,232-page bill as “ridiculous” but said he felt the need to sign it because of his duty to protect the country.

“As a matter of national security, I’ve signed this omnibus budget bill,” Trump said. “There are a lot of things I’m unhappy about in this bill. I say to Congress: I will never sign another bill like this again.”

Trump complained that the bill was too long with too little time to read. “You tell me, who can read that quickly,” Trump said to reporters…

College Of The Holy Cross Axes ‘Crusader’ Mascot To Avoid ‘Islamophobia’ – Washington Standard

The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, is dropping its Crusader mascot. The College Fix reports that the Catholic college “has decided to stop using ‘knight imagery’ to represent its ‘Crusaders’ nickname amid concerns that it evokes ‘the violence of the Crusades’ and promotes ‘Islamophobia.’”

The Holy Cross Board of Trustees declared that the Crusades were “among the darkest periods in Church history,” but the college is going to continue using the Crusader name while dropping the knight mascot.

The Board exhorted students to instead see themselves as Crusaders for Leftist buzzwords: “Crusaders for human rights, social justice, and care for the environment; for respect for different perspectives, cultures, traditions, and identities; and for service in the world, especially to the underserved and vulnerable.”

Holy Cross President Fr. Philip Boroughs explained: “[T]he visual depiction of a knight, in conjunction with the moniker Crusader, inevitably ties us directly to the reality of the religious wars and the violence of the Crusades.”…

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel participated in the University of San Diego’s pro day Thursday with scouts from at least 13 NFL teams in attendance, according to ESPN’s Eric D. Williams.

Watching USD’s pro day were representatives from the Patriots, Bears, Browns, Chargers, Giants, Chiefs, Jets, Raiders, Titans, Lions, Jaguars, Panthers and Buccaneers, per Williams.

The former first-rounder has been working out in Southern California in an attempt to mount an NFL comeback after an embarrassing exit from the league in 2016. As NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport explained, it was a win-win for both parties…

U.S. Busts ‘Massive’ Iranian Hacking Scheme – Politico

The Justice Department on Friday revealed charges against an Iranian hacking ring that prosecutors say spent years pilfering research and documents from over 100 American universities and government agencies.

Geoffrey Berman, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, called it a “massive and brazen cyber-assault” and “one of the largest state-sponsored hacking campaigns ever prosecuted” by U.S. officials.

The case is the second time federal prosecutors have charged Iranian government-linked hackers, coming almost exactly two years after DOJ indicted seven Iranians for a series of coordinated cyberattacks against the U.S. financial sector and for infiltrating a New York dam in 2013.

But Friday’s charges represent the takedown of a broader – and more purposeful – digital theft campaign.

DOJ specifically targeted the Iran-based Mabna Institute…

It said it would be implementing a new policy directed at all the businesses with which it deals.

Former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo Falters Late In His First PGA Tour Round – USA Today

Tony Romo’s PGA Tour debut started out well enough but then he got to the back nine. Romo shot even-par 36 in his first nine holes. But three bogeys and a double took him to 5-over-par 77 for his first round at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

Romo said part of the problem was he 3-putted three times on the par-72 course that’s 7,670 yards.

“That’s just nerves. Hopefully you can get that out of the way,” he said during a Golf Channel interview. The wedges and chip shots were pretty good, he added. “I had a chance to be under par pretty easily for a while,” he said,

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback had a sponsor’s exemption into the new tournament that features nine major champions, including Jim Furyk and Angel Cabrera. Denny McCarthy, who played with Romo along with Dru Love, says he had a great time talking with Romo during the round. McCarthy shot a 66. He also told Romo he’s a Washington Redskins fan…
