Katy Perry, Josh Groban, inauguration performer Jackie Evancho, Lance Bass and other celebs took to Twitter on Wednesday (Feb. 22) to speak out against Pres. Trump’s action to roll back bathroom protections for transgender students. The controversial move revoked the landmark guidance issued to public schools by the Obama administration that allowed transgender students to use bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity.
Protections? From what? To say the president removed protections indicates that somehow now students who “identify” as the opposite sex are in danger if they use the bathroom that matches their actual gender. Sorry, but this is nothing more than baseless hyperbole and emotionalistic babble frankly. I mean are we to believe that a boy using a stall in the girls bathroom is safer than he is using one on the boys bathroom? Apparently, that boy needs “protection” from something, what is that something? Are his feelings being protected? If so then who is protecting the feelings of school girls who are made uneasy by a male in their restroom? Are their feelings no longer of any import? Apparently not. Here are some “thoughts” by some celebrities
Again, what danger lies in the restroom that matches their actual gender?
Here is another
Well, it is, according to our Constitution, a state level decision. Since our founders did not reserve that power to the national government, it is purely a state decision. I do wish Ms. Evancho would take a basic civics course at the very least. President Trump simply reversed an executive order by President Obama and returned such a decision to the various states, and the people of those states. Here is Lance Bass
Again what are they being protected from? It is easy to post rhetorical drivel. How about some actual evidence that Trans-Americans in schools need protecting if they have to use the restroom that matches their plumbing?
Compassion? What of compassion for a young girl made very uneasy by a man in her restroom? Perhaps this is Adam Shankman waging a war on women? Clearly he lacks any compassion for them! What kind of knuckle dragging mouth breather is Shankman anyway? Of course, Adam Shankman, and the rest of these celebs mean well, but their rhetoric reveals their lack of critical thinking, and consistency. They wish to “protect”a certain group by throwing another group under the bus. Their message is very clear. America must respect only the feelings of certain groups, that is groups deemed worthy by them. Elitism anyone?
