You can tell that college football is almost here

Every year, in late Summer, the greatest sport on earth, college football returns, and every year those great old rivalries start heating up. Take for example my increasing desire to make snide remarks and tell mean jokes about FSU fans. For instance, do you know why Seminole fans don’t eat pickles? Because they cannot get their heads in the jar. Or how about this one directed at Georgia fans. Did you hear about the Bulldog fan that broke his arm raking leaves?  Yep, he fell out of the tree. Or this shot at LSU fans. Which place holds more LSU fans than Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights? The drunk tank of course! Of course these are made in jest. There is no real hatred. Then there is Alabama Auburn.

THAT rivalry IS hateful and nasty. Stacy McCain is an Alabama fan, and thus he loathes, detests, hates, and generally despises Auburn fans. So much so he calls Auburn women ugly. As a Gator fan, I would never call Auburn women ugly. The fact is they use stainless steel mirrors because they prefer them, not due to any shattering glass issues.

And their women are still ugly:

Auburn University has the most conservative student body of any college in the nation, according to the Princeton Review’s annual rankings, released [Aug. 5].
In contrast, Bennington College in Vermont, is the nation’s most liberal school, according to the study.
Rounding out the top ten most conservative schools for 2013 is Texas A&M, Grove City College, Hillsdale College, College of the Ozarks, University of Dallas, Thomas Aquinas College, The United States Military Academy (West Point), Hampden-Sydney College, and the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis).
The most liberal student bodies, according to Princeton Review, are Sarah Lawrence College (NY), Warren Wilson College, Bard College, Marlboro College, New College of Florida, Macaelester College, College of the Atlantic, Vassar College, and Skidmore College.

The most important thing – Princeton Review probably didn’t mention this — is that ‘Bama could easily beat any of them. Maybe Texas A&M could give us a good game, but that’s about it. ROLL TIDE

Ah, I love the smell of college football rivalries in August. Only 10 days till the season kicks off. I wonder which SEC school will win the National Championship this year? Georgia might be the pick to go with. South Carolina? Perhaps. LSU is always a factor, Bama has won the last two, Texas A & M is a player IF their QB can play. My Gators? The talent is there, let’s see how it plays out.
