Holly LaPorta, a 39-year-old New York woman was jailed on drunk driving charges after she allegedly dropped her kids off at school and then proceeded to get into two car accidents on the way home.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched Friday morning to Lehigh Station Road and Authors Avenue after receiving a report of a two-car accident.
Deputies arrived to find LaPorta driving a vehicle that had just rear-ended a BOCES school bus at the intersection. No students on board the bus were injured. The driver of the bus reportedly took LaPorta’s keys after he suspected that she was intoxicated.
Shortly after responding to the scene, deputies received a call for a hit-and-run accident that had occurred in the Sherman Elementary School parking lot.
Witnesses described a vehicle matching LaPorta’s vehicle that crashed into a car and then fled the scene.
Further investigation revealed that LaPorta had just finished dropping off her two children at the school just moments earlier.
LaPorta was booked into the Monroe County Jail and charged with DUI, aggravated driving while intoxicated, following too closely and endangering the welfare of a child.
