Rayon McIntosh, a 31-year-old New York man was jailed Thursday after he allegedly used a metal rod to beat two female customers who attacked him during a shift at McDonald’s. The entire incident was caught on a patron’s mobile phone.
According to police, Rayon McIntosh was working a shift at a Greenwich Village McDonald’s around 12:30 a.m. Thurs. when two women entered the restaurant.
Investigators say the two women, Denise Darbeau and Rachel Edwards (both 24), became angry when McIntosh told them he’d have to scan a $50 bill they had handed him, to make sure the bill was authentic.
In retaliation, Darbeau allegedly struck McIntosh in the face, prompting him to push the two women away. That’s when the two women crossed behind the counter, as McIntosh appears to retreat to the back of the restaurant.
Just as the women clear the counter and begin to follow McIntosh to the back of the restaurant, McIntosh reappears with a metal rod and begins swinging it at the two women.
Employees and customers both shout at McIntosh to stop as he continuously swings at both women who were quickly beaten to the ground.
McIntosh ordered the women to stay down, and then swung at one of them when she attempts to get back up.
After police arrived, both women were taken to an area hospital. Darbeau suffered a fractured skull and broken arm, while Edwards suffered a deep gash.
McIntosh was booked into the Manhattan Detention Complex on charges of felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. His bail was set at $40,000.
The two women were both charged with menacing, trespass and disorderly conduct.
McIntosh served 11 years in prison after he was convicted of shooting a 17-year-old classmate to death back in 2000. McIntosh told investigators that he accidentally discharged a gun after removing it from his waistband during an argument that the two boys were having. He was paroled in March of this year.
