Terry Kimbell, a 50-year-old Largo resident was jailed Tuesday after he allegedly called 911 to complain when an area Taco Bell refused him service.
According to Largo police, Kimball walked up to the drive-thru window late Tuesday night and attempted to place an order. An employee told him that he could not be served through the drive-thru unless he was in a vehicle because of safety concerns.
Kimball, however, became irate when employees refused to take his order and called 911 from his cellular phone to complain.
He told the dispatcher that he had been drinking and did not want to drive his vehicle, but he wanted some tacos. When asked what he expected the dispatcher to do, he said that he wanted someone to contact the manager at the restaurant. He also stated that he called 911 because he was “teed off”, but he knew it wasn’t an emergency. He stayed on the phone with 911 dispatchers for 11 minutes until officers arrived on the scene to apprehended him.
Kimball was booked into the Pinellas County jail and charged with misuse of a 911 system. He was released on Wednesday.
