Purse Snatcher Calls Police For Help As Good Samaritan In Snow Plow Chases Him – Weekly Vice
Cody Bragg. an 18-year-old Alliance man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly stole a woman’s purse, then called 911 after a witness driving a snow plow chased him for nearly 30 minutes.
According to the Alliance Police Department, a patron at an Alliance Wal-Mart was walking to her vehicle when a hooded man, later identified as Bragg, drove by in a Honda Civic and snatched her purse from her shopping cart.
Although the victim chased after Bragg, she only managed to get a hand on his neck before being dragged about 60 feet.
Investigators say John Shuman, a snow plow driver who witnessed the purse snatching, called 911 and began chasing Bragg.
After 30 minutes, Shuman reportedly scared Bragg enough – he called 911 himself, claiming that he was being pursued by a snow plow driver that was making him nervous.
“There’s a guy in a snow plow following me, and he’s… uh… scaring me,” Bragg told the dispatcher.
Schuman informed the 911 dispatcher that he had a concealed carry permit and was prepared to confront the suspect, but the dispatcher advised him to avoid confrontation. Bragg was apprehended by police a few hours later.
Bragg was booked into the Stark County Jail and was charged with robbery and theft. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Haha! Dumb ass.
That reminds me of a recent story of the idiot who called 911 “anonymously” to ask if he’d get in trouble for the marijuana plant he was growing…he got arrested too.
